Hey everyone, I was just looking into buying the female adapter end for my '03 Civic radio harness so I don't have to chop anything up in there. Everything seems straight foward except a couple of wires that I'm not really sure how to match them up. I got a Western Digital 160gb External HD. I was just trying to figure out some ways to hook this thing up to my Pioneer DEH-P6900UB. If the Usb port on the back of the HU is powered, would it have enough power to handle the HD or would I need to get a Power Inverter and mount it in the glovebox to keep it from looking to tacky. I was wanting to Mount the actual HD itself on the floorboard under the HU because it has the LED power light. Anyway Whatcha think. ~MadroX

Does anyone know if it is a true remote gain control or just a bass boost? Also if it is a true gain control, will the actual gain on the amp supersede the remote knob? By this I mean no matter how high I crank the remote knob, it will not go past the gain setting on the amp, correct?

What size wire should i use if i wire my doors? Would like 16 guage be enough for like up to 80rms? I only have a 45 or 55 rms amp atm but just planning ahead.. And any tips on wiring a door? Iv never done it..

I have a XS Power as a starting battery, 2 runs of 0gauge to my rear batt which is a Deka. I'm wanting to add another deka in the rear and wanted to know if I need to do 2 runs of wire to connect the rear batts together or will 1 run suffice. Thanks

I've looked around a bit and could not find a small v belt pulley for my Denso alt. 3/8 shaft I believe. Looking for something in like the 2 " range. Anyone know where I can get one? Need the right nut for it.too.

So after hooking things up i found that i was short of speaker cable by five feet. I ran down to Mickey Shorr to see what they had. They gave me about 12 feet of 8 gauge power wire for five bucks. so it's a pretty simple question actually, Is there any difference in speaker cable and power wire? can i use power wire as speaker wire? thanks.

I have been looking and looking for a decent amp since I got rid of my zx750.1 and the best deal I have seen so far is the refurb SAE-1200Dv2 for $240 on db-r.com I have heard good things about db-r but it says 7-10 business days until shipping I am curious why? I am also wondering why the amp runs 5 fuses? Last question... How much can I expect this amp to push at 14.4v?

I’m trying to see if someone can answer this question for me in simple terms. Basically I want to know what is going to happen to my signal as it’s going to be transferred and how multiple equalizers, crossovers, and gains will affect it. So basically, my head unit has a built in equalizer and crossover (they’re not that great though.) From my head unit the signal will go to an external equalizer I have. From the equalizer the signal is going to go into a stetsom 3way 6 channel crossover. The crossover is a crossover (obviously). From the stetsom crossover the signal will go into my full range amps. I have a 2003 Saturn Ion with a 2.2L Ecotech Engine with a stock 105A alternator, im trying to upgrade my big three but im running into obstacles so im coming here for some creative input. Yesterday I pulled the box out my trunk and finally took the spare out since its pointless in being under there and got to my starting battery (located in trunk where Saturn puts them). So i have a Power Acoustik Bamf series amplifier that i bought two or so months ago. When i hooked it up for the first time in my first car it worked fine. I took it out about a month later and havent used it up until today. Now heres my problem. My remote wire will not turn on my amplifier. My power and my grounds are good. the power ground and remote wires all read out to around 13.5 with the car at idle and a little over 12 when in accessory. What i dont understand is why my amplifier will not turn on even though the remote connection is good. Oh yeah the fuses are not blown either. any help would be appreciated.

Okay i was using power acoustik's 5500 1/D amps, just got the one i blew back from the factory (brand new). So i'm selling both and hopefully buying a sundown. i had my heart set on the SAZ-2000D but while at work i was thinking... why not get the SAZ-3000D? i will purchase 2 of either model for 4 SSA ICON 15's D1's Should i get the 3000D or the 2000D? i know the 3000D is going away. the price is only about $100 differance on db-r.

I will be getting a sundown Sa-8 here when they ship out. I need a amp i was looking at the Rockford prime r500 ,but i dont know if its going to hit them low lows. the box will be 1.2 cuft tuned to 35hz aero port. DOES ANYONE know of a good amp for it UNDER 175 dollars?

Im looking for a hu im not into the whole dvd players seeing must of them dont put out high output sounds if there is one let me know. The hu im looking for has to have a built in amp and have some good looking color display i looked at a few kenwood jvc etc and im still lost so thought i put this here. Hmm, how do you figure out what fuses to run for inline power and distributor block? Right now they are matched with the amps, but they should be matched with the wire, right? Here's what I have now: Soundstream TRX1500D (120A) Soundstream TRX2.550 (60A) Inline Fuse = 250A Distribution block = 60A & 120A Power wiring is all 1/0 except after distribution block (2x4AWG) Question is for next year, I'm doing some upgrades: Soundstream RUB1.2500D (250A) Sounstream RUB2.600 (60A) Wiring will remain the same except I'll be running 1/0AWG from the block to the 1.2500D What fuses should I choose? Hey guys, just wondering what kind of battery charger/tender do i need to use while playing my stereo in my garage without having to keep the car running? Probably stupid question but dont have any experience with battery chargers.

First of all I want to apologize for another which amp type question...there are a lot of them here but don't have the info I need. I'm going to be running 2 Ascendant Audio Avalance 12" subs (dual 2ohm - 800watts RMS each) and am wondering if a Sundown 2000d will be enough for them? I used to run these way back when they first came out with a US AMPS USA-2000 (2k x1 @ 2 ohms) and was happy with the setup but the class A/B of the amp was a huge strain on my already beefed up electrical system. Also, if there is another quality amp out there that you would recommend other than the Sundown let me know. I've been out of the game for a long time! Thanks!

I have been looking at upgrading my electrical system to support my future audio system. I am looking at either XS Power D1200 or Kinetik HC1200 for my main battery replacement. As they are the largest that will fit my factory battery location (as near as I can tell). Upon pricing I found a link to Batteryspec.com which sells Kinetik knockoff batteries named Tempest. Have anyone ever heard of or tried any of those batteries? And are they worth even putting in a vehicle? $124 Tempest or $248 Kinetik (shipped prices). big difference. But is the lower price worth it, that's the question?

So i got a droid x yesterday and i love the phone but one problem. the charger is like 1/2 a foot long. i was wondering if anyone knew a good website to buy these things mybe at like wholesale price or whatever. i know you guys know a lot of good websites.

I have a 06 xxx re audio 12 hooked up to a visonik v900hc...suppose to do 3200 @ 1 ohm bridged...hooked up to a kenwood kvt-911 dvd.... The only sound i can get out of my sub is when i hook the rcas up to the brain under the front pre-out...Does nothing when i hook it to the rear,and surges when i hook it up to the non fade output....But when i hook it up to the sub outputs to the back of the monitor it slams the sub and sounds right but you cannot control the sound....the volume only controls the trebble....the only wway to turn the bass from hitting is to unplug the rcas....and when its hooked up to the front preout it sounds decent but only when u turn the volume up al…
