Right now I'm powering my 12" Treo SX with a RD 1750.1 wired to .5 ohms. Not sure exactly how many watts I'm getting taking effieciency, ohm rise and other things into consideration but overall I'm happy with its output. Was just curious though...given everything is the same other than switching out the RD with a Sundown 2500 wired to .5 ohms (sub is dual 1 so I'm looking at .5 or 2 ohm options) how much of a difference could I be looking at? The pre sale for the sundowns looks like an amazing price and honestly I'm considering picking one up.

hey maybe you guys can answer this. i have a SS labs 2 farad cap. i have lost the dang resistor to sucessfully charge this thing without it blowing up in my face. any clues? i know i can get resistors at radio hack but i don't know what the value was i dont have any paper on it and its 3 years old so i cant even find it online anymore.

What would be a good amp to run for 4 aa 8"s d4

I'd really like to learn (not ask here whenever i have a question) how the amp draws current, and where it draws from (how the alternator comes in to play and such). A buddy was asking me if he should get 2 bls, and i told him his electrical couldn't handle it if he were to power them as much as he wanted to. I'm pretty confident what i told him was right, but i'd really like to know more, it just bugs me to tell him that and not know why myself lol. Anyone know of a good link or two so i can learn about this?

i understand fans are useful in keeping your amps cool ... i see a lot of people just using them for their sub amps ... i also felt my amps and my sub amp gets a lot hotter than my 4 channel ... do people mainly put fans just on their sub amps or all of their amps?

Well I really like my current head unit which is a Pioneer 880PRS but I kinda would like to add navigation and DVD capabilities. So I started to think on how I could do it suggestions would be appreciated. I would like to keep the 880 as the primary unit and the nav as the secondary. Having a sparatic issues with my remote voltage. Out of nowhere, I am having an issue with the amps/xm unit shutting off randomly. Turn the H/U off and it works again. Took out the DMM and found that Idle voltage is 12.4 and dips around 11.4 when the music is playing. Drove around for a few min and it did its thing again at which the voltage was around 5.5 and not sufficient to turn my amps on. I am running two amps, xm unit and SMALL low rpm fan on the remote circuit and have not had a problem for quite awhile...( I don't believe it is related to having too much stuff on the 12V remote) However....My H/U is over 3-4 years old Alpine 9827 Thinking it has gone through its …

Hey I'm looking at 2 MA Audio Amps... on this amp it has a sub sonic, bass boost, LPF, and GAIN I know i turn down the bass boost, and the GAIN all the way down while setting gain.... but do i need to turn down the sub sonic and the LPF? and what exactly is LPF.. thank you!@

here's a few pics of a power 1000 im trying out... looks awesome! Im using it to power the midranges and midbasses at the moment and using one of the ppi a600s for the center channel. I'm truly amazed. idk what it is but man the center channel just makes it sound better... normally im pretty good at putting my finger on why it sounds better worse ect but i honestly cant hear it playing when i have it on it sounds like perfect stereo. but i flip the switch to turn it off and you can tell right away its just not the same. crazy... anyone (m5) have an explanation or advice... i have alot of tuning to do i should get some videos of the spectrum analyzer up soon. sadly this …

I accidentally cracked the cone of my Fi Q12 not paying attention to having cargo secured properly. Anyhow, It's been replaced but once I put it back together, the woofer practically has zero output and what's there sounds really distorted. I double checked my ground and it reads .2 ohms. Power to the amp is good (reads 12.65V on battery). Reading across the woofer coils is good (1.2ohms). I swapped out a new RCA thinking maybe that's it and still the same thing. Messing around with the head unit and amp settings make no difference. I even replaced the woofer completely and it also does the same thing. i recently was helping a friend install an aftermarket headunit in an 02 grand am and the new unit wont turn on. so i put the factory unit back and it didnt turn on. what has happened here? i normally install headunits on older cars and i never ran into this problem. any ideas on how to fix? i believe its the security but i dont know how to fix the problem

I did a few searches and found some similiar topics, but I couldn't find any that pertained to my situation. Currently, I have a modern alpine model, just a cheaper one. The 9881 I believe. I like the set-up of it a lot and use its iPod control almost exclusively over CD's. I am looking to upgrade though for some more options for tuning. These are the two big ones that seem to be somewhat similiar, but have a few different options. I will definetely need the head unit to have good iPod control.
