Lately more and more... its seems that my subs have been losing power. checked amp grounds, re-did em' and sanded well. tightend terminals on rear battery; a Kinetik 2400HC. still nothing... hard to explain, I think my kinetik is shot...but it really isnt that old, nor have I been that hard on it. to help; -230A alt. -yellow top up front - 1/0 wire under hood, and back to rear bat. with 300A breaker. - 1/0 to 300A breaker, to distro, to orion 2500d. it was loud a few weeks ago... so much, it blew the light off the ceiling, and a grill of of my MB Quart's of front in the doors.... it was kinda an of and on thing, so I thought it might be a bad ground/connection, but l…

I just put an MTX 704 in my truck for the speakers and a Kicker ZX300.1 for the 2 8" subs. My question is, the 704 has buttons to turn the high pass and low pass filters on/off, which should be on and which should be off? I tink I currently have the high pass on and the low pass off. Just for background information: I use to have two 12 inch Cerwin Vega's (bought in '03, no idea was model) rated for 400w rms. They are 4 ohms, single voice coil. I have them in a sealed enclosure. It was not made to spec, but it was the closest premade box I could find to spec. I think each woofer wanted something like 2.1 ft^3 or something. Lastly, I bought a cheap amp..Boss Ripper 995. Im getting a Fi Q 15'. I was told to go Dual 2 and get a Hifonics 1600d amp, Recently I have found out that Hifonics suck and Dual 1's are better. What is the best amp sub combo Dual 1 and something else or Dual 2 and Hifonics 1600d? On a side note: Waht exactly os the difference between Dual1 and Dual 2?

I have an older Pioneer DEH P930 with a bass enhancement feature that works like an Epicenter. As a bass lover...I have enjoyed being able to use this feature without having to add another piece of equipment (such as an Epicenter), just for this feature, into the system. Do any current Pioneer models have this feature? Do any other manufacturers build a circuit like this into their decks or processors? Thanks!

So lets say I have the potential to draw 700amps with my system, If I have 1 battery under the hood and 3 more in the trunk, a run of 3/0AWG wire front to back, how do I fuse it? Last time I checked the largest ANL fuse was 300AMP How do you guys with monster systems do it? other than multiple runs of power wire.

I have ordered 2 Fi BL 12's Dual 2 ohm coils, with the Pchamfer, Flatwind, and daily option. The box is being built this week. I'm deciding on an amp to power them. Currently I have a Kenwood 9152D (supposed to be 900 RMS @ 2 ohms and 900 RMS @ 1 Ohm) So I thought perhaps getting another 9152 and strapping them together but that would under power the subs cause I know i'm not hitting 14.4 volts The 3 amps I've narrowed my interest to are Kicker ZX2500.1 (2500 RMS @ 2 ohms) supposed to be underrated MTX TA92001 (2000 RMS @ 2 ohms, 3000 RMS @ 1 ohm) dunno if this one is underrated? I have a us acoustics usx2080 that i got from Audio Clinic off of ebay and it is hooked up to my pioneer premiere 720prs speakers and it just doesn't seem much louder than the radio straight to the speaker. My gain is at about 3/4 which seems kinda high to me but thats where the DMM put it. My HU is an Alpine 9885 and i used a 1000hz wave to set my gain to 17.9 volts. Someone told me it may be an install problem but what kind of install problem could cause this? Wouldn't it be either working or not working? Also, how much louder should this amp be than the HU? Thanks for any help or tips!!!

I have a 2004 Hyundai Sonata GLS 2.7L V6 and it comes stock with a 90amp alt BUT Im pretty sure if im running 2 15in Fi BL's ill need one right? I bought a Soundstream 1000amp hybrid capacitor but I dont know it that wil be enough if im running those speakers on the Kicker zx2500.1. Just checking with yall to see and make sure... dont wanna mess up anything you know? If you guys think ill still need one do you have any suggestions? I checked that Irragas store but they didn't have one for my car =(

The way gas prices are im going to have to move my system out of my Truck and into my car. Only problem is i cant seem to find a high output alt for my 90 stanza. Anyone got any suggestions?

Was drivin around testin out new speakers and was turning up the volume, and when it hit 29/35 everything just shut off. So i figured I blew a fuse. I checked the fuse box numerous times and the fuses are all fine. Took out the HU cuz a buddy said there was a fuse behind it... nothing... I have no clue where to go from this point.

anyone knows the power rating at 4 ohm? @ 12 Volts preferably i already bought my DC level 4 and now i have to change my amp, i currently have a hifonics brutus 2000 i am selling it, to replace it with a hifonics 2008 model, but i saw this amp at a really good price, but im afraid the 2700 rms will burn it. the sub is a dual 2. any suggestions?

Hello, i have 2 SSA ICON 12's powered by two Phoenix gold ryvals 1000watts each. each sub with their own amp. so i keep blowing the fuse and my fuse holder is now melted. so it got me thinking about taking out the inline fuse completely. good or bad?
