i'm looking to upgrade my dual flip screen for a normal good quantity HU. i can buy a pioneer deh-p6200bt used from a friend from the specs it looks good on paper, i have never owned a pioneer HU any thoughts or opinions before i buy it. thanks.

Hey yall i have a 1997 f150 with everything stock. i plan on eventually upgradeing the whole audio system. I am hopeing to get the 4 channel sundown audio amp(i dont no the exact name of it, to lazy to look it up). I also plan on buying either a 10" SSa or the Ssd subwoofer and powering it with a sundown 1000d. I have a budget of about 1200 dollars and i really dont want to up grade my alt. My question is do you all think that the 95 Amp Alt be enough to power the system with little to no light dim? Thanks in advance.

Ok i have a audiopipe ap3002 and the it stoped working and now the power light is flashing. is it toast or can i fix it??????

I did a few searches and found some similiar topics, but I couldn't find any that pertained to my situation. Currently, I have a modern alpine model, just a cheaper one. The 9881 I believe. I like the set-up of it a lot and use its iPod control almost exclusively over CD's. I am looking to upgrade though for some more options for tuning. These are the two big ones that seem to be somewhat similiar, but have a few different options. I will definetely need the head unit to have good iPod control. im starting a new build for the GF's new car, its a 07 Jeep Commander. she wants to keep the stock deck and speakers, so im gonna run a LOC. Now would adding a Line driver help at all, or does the LOC doom me. im not looking to add processors or anything really, she just wants some bass. Setup will be Sundown SA 12 in 2.25 cu ft @ 36 hz and MTX te-601D amp

Now that the "Digital Conversion" has happened, can I receive the 10 or so digital channels in the car? I've see some of the digital converter boxes that run on 12 volts. What I"m really trying to get at is "How well can you receive the signal while in motion?" . I've seen it used for things like tailgating, where the vehicle is stationary. If possible I wanna be able to watch the local news on my way home from work or catch the Simpsons, etc.

Trying to get my brother a decent HU with at least 4 volt preouts, ipod combatibility that works and with connector included preferably, and a decent user interface. Ok, heres the deal. I have my Orion 4004 underneath my 2500D and it gets hot. How hot? Very hot. Hot enough to burn your hand. Hot enough to send it into protection after listening to it for 30 minutes. The components are bridged on it at 4 ohms. Many people have told me that it shouldn't be getting this hot. I think tomorrow I'm going to rewire it to only use 2 channels which will suck as far as power goes. I may also try to throw my planet audio vx3002 on it and see if it does the same thing. I have heard some things about orions not liking high input voltage but the gains are set about halfway. One other thing I am having problems with is at higher volumes (30/40) my …

Hey, I was running wires etc today and I decided to just make sure everything worked alright before I got my box built. So the amp turns on and appears to be fine (it isnt in protect mode) but the subs only hiss. It seems like they are moving a little bit but I dont hear any sound except for white noise. My rca's probably arent the best *rockford fosgates* but they should work and for the ground I sanded a patch in the trunk and screwed it down. The amps manual says that white noise is caused by the amps settings but I turned them all in different ways and still nothing. btw I have a hifonics brutus 1606d and 2 12" soundsplinter rlps and a pioneer premier 6700 any ideas?

What upgrades are needed to run a Sundown 2k? Some people say HO alt and some don't. What do you all think? Going in a 2005 Cavalier. Not trying to buy a HO alt if I don't need to. Thanks

i plan on running 2 12" fi q or ssa icon subs in a 4cf ported enclosure tuned to 28hz. my car is running a minibattery upfront (to clear upper intercooler pipes), an optima yellowtop (extended battery, not standard), 2 1 farad caps, big 3 upgrade, and a 180amp iraggi alternator. the amp im currently using is a mtx 1501d (1500watts @ 1 ohm). here are my concerns: 1) would it be worth it to upgrade to an amp that is around 2500watts? 2) how many watts can my current electrical system handle? 3) will i be able to run an amp around 2500watts and another one for mids and highs around 200-300watts? 4) what amp would you guys recommend (looking to spend $800 or less)? so far…

Right now I'm powering my 12" Treo SX with a RD 1750.1 wired to .5 ohms. Not sure exactly how many watts I'm getting taking effieciency, ohm rise and other things into consideration but overall I'm happy with its output. Was just curious though...given everything is the same other than switching out the RD with a Sundown 2500 wired to .5 ohms (sub is dual 1 so I'm looking at .5 or 2 ohm options) how much of a difference could I be looking at? The pre sale for the sundowns looks like an amazing price and honestly I'm considering picking one up.

I have a memphis 16-2000d amp and it has no fuses. If i use a 300 amp inline fuse in the power wire and hook that straight up to the amp will that be ok?

I have plans to run an AudioQue AQ2200D in a 2001.5 Passat (call it a 2002). I'd like to know what I need as far as electrical upgrades. I'd also like to know what a batcap would/wouldn't do for someone that likes to have a constant beat going. I have a DC HO alt on its way 200 at idle. i have 2X XS D3100 now and an optima red top onder the hood i will be replacing soon. my new setup will consist of 2X Sundown 2500D witch i already have. my sub stage is a supprise only some of you know lol. My question is... do you guys think with me upgreading all my wire to Welding wire is actually nessessary? my plan is to change my big3 with all 4/0 wire. and have 2 runs of 3/0 power front to back. i am not worried about the $200+ i am spending on the supplies i need including the wire. I just secured a 100.4 and 125.2 for an awesome deal and had a few questions, basically to solidify my purchase decision. I was hoping to use the 100.4 for an active front stage 2 way comps. Use 125.2 to run a sa8 in a .75 ported box. I feel the amps are up to those tasks without a secondary processor for the comps and the single 8 should be healthy on the 125.2 @ 2 ohms. Feedback, and suggestions on comp sets and headunits would be welcome as I'm still juggling a few ideas around. Thanks Lymen

Hi, Im about to start a build in my 2003 Dodge Dakota, Will be running a Crescendo BC2000D to two 15" SSA ICONS and a Rockford T15004 to a set of Hertz HSK components and probably 2 8" or 10" Crescendo Mids. Have an XS Power D2700 so far just wondering if at this point getting A 250 amp Singer alternator or a second battery ex XP2000 or XP2500 would give me less voltage drop or if its even necessary with that power? All wiring is Knukonceptz Kolosses 1/0 Gauge 1 run - one run +. Also any advice on personal experience with people running Crescendo mids along with a high end component set? Thanks,
