Installed a self exciting high output alternator worked fine once installed but once the car sits over night if the temperature drops below 30 degrees the next morning when I start the car I'm not charging, voltage is at 12.3 I have rev up to 3k still it takes probably 20 seconds or more before my voltage goes up to 15.1... on warm days and nights never an issue. .what could be causing this?

i recently just replaced my 4 guage power wire with 0 guage wire well my car ran fine on my way to work, but then i went to leave work and it wouldnt start, i had it towed and had a mechanic look at it, we've replaced my coil, map sensor, distributor cap, roter and still nothing, my battery is not dead, both batteries are reading around 12.7 volts if someone can please help itd be great, thinking it may be sensors, fuses etc.

Hey guys, i seem to be having a few problems with my system just a couple days ago and i was wondering if you guys have any idea of what might be going on before i go searching for the problem myself. Sup, I did a search, but couldn't find anything. I got a pioneer z130bt and a ipod touch. I downloaded a bunch of album photos and they used to show up, but after I downloaded the latest ipod update, I can't get any to show up on my HU even though they show on my ipod. Anybody had this issue?

I was wondering what a good amp would be for 2 fi bl12's. i've looked at the sundown saz-3500d and the audioque 3500, i'm leaning more towards the audioque. would this amp work? and do you have any other amplifier suggestions?

Here's my new nightmare problem. I have to completely re-build my H/O alternator for my 2005 Ford Ranger XLT. This is a 3.0 V6 2WD and a Iraggi 260 amp H/O Ford 3G Large Case alternator. here soon i will be getting another amp most likely a sundown, and the amp i am running now i will be running 2 gauge wire and im wondering when i get my other amp if i should use a distribution block or run more wire??

I have plans of adding an additional 3000D and a BTL 18 to my existing 3000D and BTL 18. The problem is that the 3000D is no longer in production, and DB-R is running low. What would my options be if I couldn't get another 3000D when I do the upgrade? I don't think it would work properly if I combined a 3000D on one BTL and a 3500D on the other.... please inform. Hello, I have about 1200 watts rms of power (1 sub and 2 speakers) in my car : one saz 1000 and (soon) an sax 50.4 bridged to my comp set. My power and ground are 0 gauge. I will very soon do the big 3 with all 0 ga. I would like to have more electrical power, in order to have maybe a 1500 or a 2000 watts amp for a next sub. What would be better ? Add a second battery in the trunk ? XS or Kinetic, like the small one they make for Honda civic. Or just replace the battery under the hood with a bigger one? always XS or Kinetic. I recently installed an Eclipse CD-8445. It's been great, however I have not had much success using E-ISERV. I have not been able to transfer AreaShot files or Audio settings to my HU via CD or Memorystick. I have been able to transfer Motion Picture files however. Whenever I try to transfer AreaShot or Audio settings, I receive a "file err" message. I've tried upgrading the firmware...but that has never been done successfully either. Any help is appreciated.

Can someone tell me a little about the total harmonic distortion value on amps as far as what the max acceptable level should be & what I should look for on one? I have seen most mid range amps at around 0.02 to 0.05. Is this something I need to concern myself with or is the difference going to so little I won't even notice? Thanks

i was installing a voltmeter today and i ran a power wire for it from the front battery threw the firewall and up to around where my headunit is the wire was 8g so i just hooked everything up to see if it was working everything worked fine then i moved the headunit and that power wire touch the back off my headunit it sparked and now the hu wont work i dont know how that could break it it touched the part in the back that looks like a heat sink idk what that part is for its liek ridges any way it made this terrible smell so i guess its broke i didnt like that hu anyway it was a soundstream touch screen one so for my new hu im looking for one with just buttons and volume …

Why does everyone run 2 Kinetik Hc1800s instead of 1 HC3800? You get more power and its easier to set up and its the same price if not cheaper. Would this battery also be enough with the two amps and a 200A alternator?

Hey I notice Ppl using 2 2/0 for There ground Could you explain to me why so much for the ground and where you would put yours at on your ground because I was planning on using 4 gauge on Body (A) > Head (B) > Coil Pack © > Battery Negative (D) > Body (E) And was going to use 0 gauge for battery negative - body But why would you use so big wire on the ground? I was told the car for the ground needs some sort or resistance for the computer to know, but 2/0 is bigger then 0 gauge. Ok so I have a kicker zx2500.1 laying around my house and since I blew my previous amp, This may besomething I can stick in my car. So my question is (after doing some digging that led to nowhere) does ANYBODY know the MAX of this amp? I have read quite a few things most of which say this # RMS Power Rating: * 4 ohms: 1250 watts x 1 chan. * 2 ohms: 2500 watts x 1 chan. # Max power output: 2500 watts x 1 chan. How can the rms and the max of the amp at 2ohms be the same?

I have a power acoustik vu560-4x. Back in high school was being dumb when hooking it up and crossed a wire or two and basically it went up in smoke. Basically determined the problem to be 3 of these mosfets. Just wondering how hard it would be to replace these. Would it be just some simple soldering? I figure the 5 bucks it would cost would be worth the try for a highs amp.

can someone finish this diagram for me? keep in mind, i will have TWO sets of horns, and TWO relays. so i need to know how to hook up the one switch for both sets of horns, to both relays. also, i just need one fuse for both power wires going to the relays right? what amperage should i get? the horns are Hella Supertone 85115's.
