i was installing a voltmeter today and i ran a power wire for it from the front battery threw the firewall and up to around where my headunit is the wire was 8g so i just hooked everything up to see if it was working everything worked fine then i moved the headunit and that power wire touch the back off my headunit it sparked and now the hu wont work i dont know how that could break it it touched the part in the back that looks like a heat sink idk what that part is for its liek ridges any way it made this terrible smell so i guess its broke i didnt like that hu anyway it was a soundstream touch screen one so for my new hu im looking for one with just buttons and volume …

this might sound noobish but i wasnt sure. im getting an aq2200d, but im not going to be running it at 1 ohm, im going to be running it at 2 ohms for the time being. the question is, do i need to up the battery and treat like im running it at 1 ohm (2200 W)? i think i should be fine off my stock battery since im only pusing ~1300 watts correct?

Hello, I have about 1200 watts rms of power (1 sub and 2 speakers) in my car : one saz 1000 and (soon) an sax 50.4 bridged to my comp set. My power and ground are 0 gauge. I will very soon do the big 3 with all 0 ga. I would like to have more electrical power, in order to have maybe a 1500 or a 2000 watts amp for a next sub. What would be better ? Add a second battery in the trunk ? XS or Kinetic, like the small one they make for Honda civic. Or just replace the battery under the hood with a bigger one? always XS or Kinetic. I'm thinking of getting this to push rl-i 8"s in the wifes car. I had a directed 1500D, but it's on it's way out. It states that it'll do 1500@1ohm, but how true to rated power does this amp do? i think i want the visonik 4000, if i can still find it for like 400 or less... other than that idk.. what amp can i buy that at least gives me 2000 to each sub? or somehwere arround thier., for around 400$ all the nice amps are like 2000 x1.... but i want a 4000x1 or something around thier lol,

ok i think i got it. check out the diagram, and tell me if its right. i heard that alot of amps will output a low freq or pop for a second when you turn the amp on, and to use a cap on each channel to not allow that freq. to get to my tweeters. the nominal load of each channel after i wire it up will be 1.5 ohm. so according to WinSD or whatever it is, it say that a 68uF 100V cap (with the 1.5 ohm load) will not let any freq under 1000ish Hz pass through that cap. is that right? i also have the Coustic XM6 (just ordered) which is 18dB per octave, and then the HPF on my amp is 12dB per octave, does that make my overall slope for the tweets 30dB? plus does the cap still add…

I recently installed an Eclipse CD-8445. It's been great, however I have not had much success using E-ISERV. I have not been able to transfer AreaShot files or Audio settings to my HU via CD or Memorystick. I have been able to transfer Motion Picture files however. Whenever I try to transfer AreaShot or Audio settings, I receive a "file err" message. I've tried upgrading the firmware...but that has never been done successfully either. Any help is appreciated.

My friend just got a Sundown 3,000 for his truck. I brought up the idea of maybe trading my DD M3a for his SAZ3,000. He's doesn't care either way. What would you do and why? Hey guys, i was thinking about getting a Powermaster D1200 for my system... As of right now... i have a RF p5002 going to a 12" w3. When i have everything cranked up i notice my lights dimming a little bit... Yes i have factory wiring... but also i have a peice of junk battery (not sure exactly what it is but it was the cheapest thing i could find when i bought the car) although the car does have a 110amp alt. (i will be replacing the battery i have right now) My question is this... Will that help out my dimming situation with such a small amount of power being taken from the p5002. I've thought about the Alpine MRD-M1005, the Hifonics ZXi1006 and even the new Phoenix Gold RSd1200.1. Whats probably my best bet from those? They can all be found for around $300, which is the price I'd like to stay at. Any other recomendations would be awesome too. Thanks to all who can help

i have 4 cvrs in two boxes they are wired in the box and are ready to be hook up just need help hooking all four to mono amp.

to power a 15" or 18" Q should i usa a autotek mm 1400.1 or ss 1500.1? the reason i ask is becasue i have seen a few test done where the ss500 and i think the 1000 did there rated power around 13.8-14 volts. or should i go with the mm1400 and i am getting a good deal on the amps so they are the only 2 i can pick from.

Can someone tell me a little about the total harmonic distortion value on amps as far as what the max acceptable level should be & what I should look for on one? I have seen most mid range amps at around 0.02 to 0.05. Is this something I need to concern myself with or is the difference going to so little I won't even notice? Thanks

Ok, so I have a yellow top group 34 up front right now in my suv. I am upgrading my stereo system and will be running a Sundown Saz 3000d a JL audio 500/5 and a JL e4300. I will be using a mechman 275 amp alt and I need help deciding what to do for the batteries. Can I hook up the optima to a xs power d3100 and expect to see good results? or a d3400 up front to a xs power d3100 in the back. Is it alright to hook up batteries that are of different classes? I can't fit a 31 series up front but it looks like a good battery for the back. Last but not least I have seen good deals on a optima yellow top d31t.
