If an amplifier is receiving a bandpassed input from the head unit of say 60hz - 2000hz and I used the RCA out from the amp to another amp will the second amp receive the same frequencies as the first? I would think so as I dont see how it could be full range as it's not receiving full range input from the source. Just thinking and wanted to double check with some of you guys to confirm. ?

Let's say I'm running the Sundown 1000 watt amp with 2 gauge power/ground wire and an 80amp fuse near the battery powering a 12" Fi Q. If I want to change my sub to a 8" Soundsplinter RL-i, and replace the Sundown with a P.G. 400 Watt amp, does the 2 guage wire need to be changed? If not, then does the fuse need to be changed? BTW: I don't have those amps or subs. My main question was the wire question. I realize the Sundown would actually be good for a dual 4 ohm RLi-8. But let's forget all that.

Hello SSA! I am selling my Type-R to a friend soon, and getting a Soundstream T5-10 from another friend. I just sold the amp I was using on the R so I could buy a new amp for it, but now this opportunity has presented itself. I am looking for an amp that can do 800-1000 watts at 1 ohm, for around $200. I've been looking around, but all the ones i've found have been Maxxsonics products, which never really do their rated power. Any suggestions from you guys would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I tried searching but search feature doesn't really like small words like Big 3. I've seen it a lot where people say you can leave the stock alternator/ground cables connected, but does disconnecting them have any effect? I ask because I would rather just cap the stock cables off for a cleaner install.

So my kenwood kdc deck is acting up and I feel like I don't know where to start.. Ok so the other day my head unit would just randomly turn off and then back and on and back off again. It would work for the most part then yesterday I was stopped at the bank and it shut off and didn't come back on.. So tonight I re-did some of the wiring behind the head unit but still nothing. I'm thinking its either a bad ground or a loose wire somewhere.. It will come on for a good 5-10 seconds and then I move it and it shuts off. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Right now I have an saz-2500d and I am getting the electrical to power it sufficeintly. As for batteries, the one I have now is a perfectly fine battery, I do not know what kind of amperage its putting out but it is a stock carquest battery and rests at 12.5. Car on, I rest at 14.0-.1. I bought an 230A alternator from Nations Starter and Alternator in Cape Girardeau, MO about a year ago for $450, my warrenty is expired and now its squeaking. I spoke to the guy at the store and he says that there is no way that alternator is squeaking he said that he was 1000% (yes 1000%) sure it had to be something else but not the alternator. He is stuck on his work being perfect. All I can say is that I would never ever buy anything from them again. Ok now that thats out of the way, should i take it to an alternator shop to get it fixed, or should i just get a new one. And if so where can i get a 200-250 Amp alternator for a reasonable price? What size wire should i use if i wire my doors? Would like 16 guage be enough for like up to 80rms? I only have a 45 or 55 rms amp atm but just planning ahead.. And any tips on wiring a door? Iv never done it..

Just curious if the kinetik will be an upgrade compared to the stock G34 I have up front. The kinetik is smaller than the stock battery, but it's also a battery designed for this type of thing. Might sound like a no brainer but I wanted to make sure.

My fronts are Infinity 682.7s with stock 8" midbass in the doors. No rear speakers. I'm actually happy with the sound using my HU to power the 6x8s, but it is starting to die since the speakers are 2 ohm and the HU is not 2 ohm stable. I also want to be able to control the cross over points of my midbass speakers better.

Have factory 6x9 rear and thinking to go back with a Treo 8 sub instead of going with the 6.5. The amp that I was going to use to run the 2 set of 6.5 was a Solid Audio F20 @ 300 watts how much more power I need to run the TS 8 which is 150 watts?

I was at a local shop today browsing and I see a rf 3sixty .1 says he will take $199 for it. Seems decent as far as price. My plan is for my new Malibu I'm buying everything before I install. 2 sa12's, crescendo bc2000, fosgate t1 components, rf power t400.4..etc those things I have now. I want a clean sounding system that of course hits nice and hard. I have no experience with processors. The components will be in stock locations with no intentions of altering that. I ordered an Fi Q15 with BP Power option. Would a Sundown Audio SAE-1000D be a good match for this sub?

I was given an old MTX TP3002 from my girlfriends dad the other day because he didn't think it worked anymore. Well, I replaced all the fuses and terminals. I wired it up and it worked fine. Hooked it to an 8 ohm speaker to test, and it worked. I took it to my car and hooked it to 2 SA-8's bridged at 4 ohms. The subs started popping, then the amp shut off and smoke poured out. The gains and everything were all the way down. Anyone know what could have happened? It worked fine on my test bench in the garage, then fried in my car when subs were wired to it.

I know this is sounds like a waste, but has anyone ever clamped a 3500d at 4 ohm? im interested in the numbers

I hooked up a system for my buddy a year or so ago.. Just 1 Treo 12 and an audio pipe ap1500. Stock electrical. All has been good till yesterday.. His stock battery took a shut so he replaced it. Called me up to help him adjust the deck back where it was. I went through it and when I began turning it up the ampoules cuts out. Goes into protect for about 4 seconds and keeps on playing for another 5 seconds or so and does it again UNTILL I turn it down. I lowered the gain a little bit out of curiosity but same thing.. What can be causing this? Where do I start? This was a used amp when he bought it on CL so maybe the Amps taking a shit? Any help is appreciated.

What is the importance of an amps efficancy? I know being effeciant in anything is good, but how does this affect amplifier performance when comparing apples to apples. If you have one amp that is say 90% effeciant at 4ohms and another amp that is 70% effeciant at 4ohms and are both rated to put out 500 watts at 4ohms at 12.8 volts; what does the effeciancy rating tell me, the consumer, about the amp I am using? Any input would be appreciated.

Tomorrow i should have my my SAX 125.2 wired up to my Kenwood DNX-8120 and Hetrz HSK 165.4 components. I wanted to get a heads up about about all of the settings on the amp and where everything should be set. I dont have a DMM if that matters. Thanks for any help! Here's a picture for reference...

I´m not so god at english too start with cause im from Sweden! =) i´ve just bouht a saz-3500d and i´m wondering if i can load it down too 0.5ohm? At the moment im using it on 4 Audiotop 15.4 15" subs,and i had an Sundown 3000d before and the difference in preassure was really big and with the saz3000d i played 150.00 with music. But i´vw also bougt 2 Sundown nightshade 12" 2 * 2 subs and my otehr question is there any chance that i can play more than 150 db with the 2 Nightshade on the 3500d amp?

alright so i have a cheap walmart wet cell battery under the hood.... now i bought i xs power d3100 to run my amps off of in the trunk.... can i wire the 2 batteries parallel together or should i just run them seperate to the alternator ?? if i should run them seperate how should i do it ?? i wasnt sure if i could run them together since one is a wet cell while the other is a dry cell. i wanna run my cars electrical off of the walmart battery and the amps off of the d3100.
