hi, i had to change my plans and have to go with a more budget friendly set up around 300 for the front stage amp . ok right now i have a sundown sax100.4D that i love. but the problem is it is too long i need 3 inches of it to be cut off for it to be true love. so i am i going to have to sell it. and i was looking at small class d amps. and i saw the kenwood xr 4s. for roughly 300 it is rated for 120 rms at 4 ohms and can do active. and on diyma it seems to have gotten good reviews and i do like the fact that it has a fan.. but i never have ran kenwood before . and the only other options i can see for me is getting 2 2 channels amps and stacking them since i want atlea…

Hello I am an amateur stereo guy in need of advise on setting my amp. I have the gain set to 21 volts on the front and rear of 4 channel with a 1khz test tone I have the gain set to 41 volts on the 1500d amp with a 50hz test tone Those settings were given to me by a friend My question is where to set the crossovers? the low pass/high pass filters the subsonic knob and the 2 push in buttons I currently have the front channel run on the crossover on the head unit set to 100khz with a 24 slope Rear channel is off on deck, and set on low pass on amp but not sure what the settings should be on the amp, the deck does not give me a low pass option on rear channel The sub is cur…

I took my bmw to a local install shop here in Atlanta.... I had them make me a sealed box for my 2 15's. Solobaric l7's to be exact(dual 4 ohm)..... i dropped my car off and left.... When I returned everything was done! EXCEPT! I have a o guage kicker wiring kit and they told me 0 guage wouldnt be necessary so i said ok we'll see what happens first... i told them i wanted to use the 300a kicker fuse though.... I returned and all my settings were turned up... the sub on the radio was at 15/15 the highest it would go..... the bass was at its highest level and the gain was more then 75% up..... they told me......" we've been playing it hard for the last hour trying to break …

i have 2 FI q 15's, both with 1000 watts rms. i have read reviews about the SAZ 1500d sundown amp, and i have heard that it would be plenty of power since it is over rated for power. is this true? thanks.

Hey guys I'm kind of new to building and wiring (I've done a couple of installs but I still like to learn). My question is what type of electrical system I should go with. I'm aiming to have TWO Sundown SAZ-1500D's and TWO RE-SX 12's. My question is what type of battery setup I should need to upgrade to. I've been looking at running an Optima Yellow Top D75/25 battery up front and an Optima Yellow Top D34/78 in the back. I don't have much info on some of the other brands to run like XS Power, BatCap, or Kinetik. Any info is much appreciated. I've been following the site for some time now and really like everything I've seen (the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe build is sick).

Although I'm not worried about buying an amp with enough power (bc I buy quality gear) I'm still unsure how efficient an amp really is. My really old PPI PC 2150 A/B class says in the manual something like 70% efficient which is better than many class d amps now (I read something about the JL 500/1 being about 50% effiencent.) Anyone really know how efficient their amp is or how I can find out without buying one? PS I have a 06 Toyota Highbrid and I'm thinking that the normal 12v system is going to get taxed pretty hard with a moderate system in there. I need some new battery terminals for the optima red top under the hood. I currently have some nice tsunami terminals. They have 2 0 gauge inputs and 2 8gauhe inputs. Id like terminals with 3 or 4 0 gauge inputs and 2 8 gauge inputs. Can some hook me up? Help is much appreciated Fellas!

Theres gotta be a faster way to scroll thru the ipod interface.... the 6000 model was easy u can go by scrolling thru the letter and pick the song from there... anyway to do that for the 9800?

in the pinned topic, it says "Gain Setting Equation Voltage of the output = sqrt(RMS Power X impedance of the speaker)" i have a 2ohm DVC sub, so is my impedance 2ohms? or 4ohms? (2[dvc]*2ohms) or 1ohms because i'm putting it as a 1 ohm load onto my sub? the DVC is what throws me off here, the thread doesn't specify whether it matters or not. it also says to stick the positive and negative into the amp terminal... well my amp has 4 (2 of each polarity) terminals, should i use the negative from one set, adn the postive from the other? ex) A+ and B-? or ex) A+ and A-? thats my amp.

Anyone have any good setups with this amp? Modded or not? A d200? I want to know how much I can really get out of it..have only seen it do work in 4 ohm. I got one off my buddy with a dmged Fi Q for only 200$. I thought it was a steal...

I am looking for specs on efficiency and THD for .5,1,2 ohm applications of the Q13500D.1, basscleff 5500, and sundown sa2 5000. while these manufactures list there 4Ohm and even 2 ohm on some, none of them seem to have any detailed specs on 1ohm loads and as for sundown i cant seem to find ANY specs to speak of on their website so im some what leery there. does anyone know that the exact THD, signal to noise, and efficiency is at 1ohm loads for these amps? thanks.

Replaced my RCA's today and now I have a terrible alt whine. Never had this happen before so Ive been trying to do some research and what the problems could be. Here's what Ive tried so far. I've disconnected the RCA's and the whine goes away. Plugged a factory wire back up with factory speaker and no whine Disconnected the 4 channel amp from the ground block and grounded it independently at another point. Since theres no whine with the factory speaker am I correct in assuming its nothing behind the head unit i.e. radio antenna, HU ground Any other suggestions? Also I did remove the remove and plug in the rca's while the system was running. Just…

Hey guys, I am having an issue with my amp I am wondering if my RCA's are bad, I had them loose in the trunk while my amp was uninstalled, could they have touched and burnt out or something, I didnt tape them off, only the power wire and ground, I didnt think they needed to be taped off as well. But my amp is sounding unright! the output is very low, I turned the gain up to max and it does not sound like a 1200 watt amp should sound, I dont know if that makes sense. well, just ordered myself an older panasonic CQ-DF903U. I have a 90 amp alt and will be driving a 12 btl with a dtr1 2200d soundstream amp that as a 200 amp fuse and a audiobahn a6601t that as 80 amp fuse i have a 3 farad cap and im going to buy a back up battery but i dont know wich one yet i will also buy an isolator but im wainting to see if i have to change my alternator...everything is going to be wired with 0 gauge and i changed my car battery ground and my motor ground for 0 gauge and added a extra wire from my alt to my batt. wainting for ya reply to get this thing loaded

Hi. Can anyone tell me if this is a good amp or not. (SAZ 1200d.1 Mono.) I am aware of Sundowns reputation of having great Speakers/Subs but I don't know about this particular amp. I need some help guys/gals. I will most likely be running a set of Focal 165K2P comps and a 12" ED kv.2 sub from Elemental Designs. The sub can handle anywhere from 400-900 watts and the 165k2p's are a 200W max speaker although i have been told they can handle every bit of 200W if done correctly. I would like to buy one nice amp to power both the comps and the sub. the first amp i have found that is capable and in my price range is the SoundStream TR800.5. its a 5 channel amp that does 200x2, 400x1 in bridged mode. I was fooling around with my amp today, turning up the gain gradually, and I was getting excited, sub was pounding a lot harder, and it didnt sound like it was getting any muddier or sound like it was clipping. But then i noticed that once i disconnected the sub and played a tone, the amplifier itself was making a buzzing noise. So i turned back the gain and it went away. I was wondering if this was some kind of built in clipping detector or something along those lines? Have you guys ever encountered something like this? Any info would be great, thanks guys.

this is an old blown amp i had just sitting around. i took the case off to see whats up with it. i dont really give a crap about it. brand and model is SPL FX2-2200. i think i wired my sub to .5 on it when i just started in car audio. wondering what the burnt mark is. i kinda wana try and fix it just for fun or just rip it apart just for fun any input?

Can you ever have to much battery? I can fit a powermaster d3100 up front and I am also getting a 200 amp alt from excessive. My system only consists of a alpine mrd1005d mono amp and the sundown 100.4. How do these batteries compare to kinetik?
