Well I sold my pretty red car in my avatar. :L I bought a nice Jeep Cherokee though and I plan on getting a BTL in the near future. For the sake of my electrical, would there be less voltage drop if I ran a SAZ 3,000 at 2 ohms compared to a SAZ 1,500 at 1 ohm? I don't mind the extra $175 or so if it won't take as much of a toll on my electrical. I have a stock alternator and will only be getting 1 XS or Kinetic battery (as big of one that I can fit) that will go under the hood. Thanks in advance.

  6. so, i got this Linear Power amp (model 2202) from one of my friends to hook up to my other friends little sub. its 2 channel. and its 11x2. his sub is a little MTX 4500. so its the right amt of power. the amp just looks so old. the power, remote, and ground wires are sticking out (connected internally...?) i have searched Google to see if its bridgeable. no luck. only found a little info. questions: 1. is it bridgeable? if so, how? the + and - setup is like this: [ - [ + [ + [ - 2: is the amp a P.O.S.? any other important info on this amp? or this brand? only thing i found was: http://www.linearpower.com/detail/2202.html more info: 2 x 110W @ 8 ohms (12.5V) 1 x 250W…

I have a 93 civic with a 70 amp alternator. Right now the alternator is producing too much voltage( up to 20 volts) I suspect that my 900 watts rms stereo system(mtx tc 4001 front chan. @ 4 ohms rear chan. @ 2 ohms, mtx mxa6001 A 2ohms) is to blame. So I decided to get a HO alternator, but the closest guy that does it is in brampton a few hours drive. After doing some homework I found out that added a second isolated battery may provide better protection. Does anybody have any advice, pros or cons and what would you do? HO aternator, Second battery or both? I have already upgraded my battery and wireing for those who will ask.

in the back of my truck is not the learning experience I quite thought it would be. Until the Fox acoustic box gets here, my rear seat is out and my Great Dane takes pleasure in stepping on the cables. Uncle Mur4phy must have told him to stand right on the connectors because all four are broken. To top it off, he's crapped twice on the sub amp and pushes off anything I cover it up with. Back to the RCA's, those 22gauge wires are too small to hold and solder at the same time. What can I use to hold the jack while soldering? Mind you this has to be done in the back cab of my truck.

Ok, say I want to use a simple toggle switch to control a relay for whatever reason. Do I grab +12 from any source (battery, ign switched, etc), run it through the switch, to the relay coil, to ground, and hook up whatever I wanted to power using the switched terminals? Thanks, ~Trevor

I have an 07 LT Suburban, which I believe has the 160amp alternator. I want to run a dual alternator system for my truck because I'm about to install a hi-powered audio system in the truck. I'm trying to find a kit that will allow me to keep my factory alt while running another 250 - 300 amp alt that will run independent from the factory system. So in theory the second alternator would only power the two additional batteries that will be in the truck. Nothing factory related would be power by the second alt. Anyone have any ideal? I'm open to all suggestions. However if someone here is already running dual alt and advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

So i'm wondering what kind of battery i should get. Right now i'm looking at an optima yellow top but i'm always open to suggestions in the same price range. I do have the big 3 done, and the alternator is stock but i have no idea how big it is. Any help would be nice because this is a very annoying problem. Thanks!

just making a general positive statement I recently loaned out my Z800 Ultradrive to a buddy because he melted his Kenwood (ups has it) (they say 225 x 2 @4 and 450 x 1 @ 4, but a shop speced it at 513 or something in that range) and it is a class A/B amp and is not reccomended, like many others, to go below 2 ohms stereo or 4 ohms mono, so what do we do? we wire it up at 1.5ohms mono for giggles, and WHAT THE CRAP :musik05: it played fine, and it still is now a few days later, the top mounted fan it whirling like a foo and the heat sink is getting warm but the amp is holding

is it the same signal as the front rca output ... i do not listen to surround sound music or dvds so will the left rear sound exactly the same as the left front (same thing with the right side)? ... reason being i have 2 sets of components in the front and have my rears running off the high levels ... i wanted to run my front components using the front and rear rcas so i can adjust the kicks independently from the doors
