i have all hyperflex 0 awg, i have a fuse between the alt and battery, at the beginning of and at the end of the run that connects the yellow top to the kinetiks, and from the kinetiks to the amp rack, which also has a anl fused distro. all fuses are 300amp except the 100amp that goes to the clarion amps. will this cause a substantial voltage drop?

  2. Here is a video to show my new charging system. The main point of the video, which came to my surprise. But EVEN with a large electircal system, you still may not be supplying enough for your audio equipment. This was an interesting find for myself. At full tilt sort of speak, my vehicle, the vehicle itself, pulls right around 40 amps!!! That is HUGE! haha. That included, headlights which is H.I.D.s, which pulled 10 amps lol, Wiper Full blast, Front heat full blast, rear heat full blast, and interior lights on. So, let's just say I had an stock 80amp Alternator. That means 40 for the vehicle, and only 40 for the audio equipment. That is some huge information to know for y…

Found this PioneerGM-X524 amp with two 12"jbl subs (look like pieces of crap) on craigslist for only $100. i don't really care about the subs, but i was wondering if anyone has ever used this amp and what they have experienced with it? How does it handle heat dissipation after long periods of playing? Is it low quality? Just wondering what people have experienced with it. thanks!

I'm looking into getting a new head unit, and I was wanting some suggestions.. I'm looking for something simple, but quality. I need ability to play MP3 CD's, Have an AUX input, and a USB port that will work with iPod or iPhone (not a major need though). I have an XO vision something or other 3" screen DVD player type head unit that I got from wal mart online for like 100$, and I'm just not impressed with the quality or controls. In order to do anything on the HU you have to use the remote control, which is extremely annoying. The built in EQ is pitiful too. I'm just looking for simple, and quality, with the features I stated above. My budget is about 250-300$. I don't ha…

Going through some stuff I had in the attic and I ran across a Hifonics Thor Series VII amp Hooked it up in my truck and it works great. Only rated at 250 watts but running it bridged with a kicker 10" truck box and it pounds! Anyone know much about this relic? and of course I find it a month after buying a kicker zx400.1 amp for my Trans Am...would of used it and saved some cash.

Hi. Can anyone tell me if this is a good amp or not. (SAZ 1200d.1 Mono.) I am aware of Sundowns reputation of having great Speakers/Subs but I don't know about this particular amp. I am planning on using it to power (2) DD1508 D4 subs and would like to know that it will be sufficient with over head left. I do appreciate all input and thank you.

Hi , guys I need help. O.K. I have comps up front rated at 150 rms and rear coax spks. rated at 100 , and I know i don't have to use rears, but i have rear seat passengers a ll the time [ three kids] and they love listening to music . Anyhow , how do I feed the comps enough power without overpowering the rear spks. Recommendations please! I was about to buy a Sundown 100.4 because I assumed they were all 150 rms, now i'm afraid the rears won't take the power if the amp is underrated. Sorry the spks are CDT and I think they're entry line , 626/622.

  18. well im about to start my new build some time next week hopefully and im trying to get my electrical squarred away this weekend so here it goes. i recently recieved my new amp (cactus 5kw), and i know it is going to need alot of juice so my plan is to 1.) upgrade my starting battery to a decent car audio battery (everstart maxx, walmart style now) 2.) do my big 3 in 0 ga (haven't done that yet) 3.) run 0 ga to the trunk 4.) one battery in the trunk for sure (d3100) and possibly another if i need it. so far my knu koncepts cart looks like this: 2, 0ga amp kits(for the extra wire, 250amp fuses), 4, battery terminals, 2, 200 amp fuse(for alt and rear batt.), 10 foot of 10ga…

I have an aq2200d that will be powering a ss rl-p 18 at 4 ohms. When i go to wire it up, do i use the outside pos and neg ports on the amp? Also, i have a kicker 200.4 for one set of components. I want to bridge the amp to make 100.2 at 4 ohms, but im confused when it comes to wiring it. there are two rows of inputs for speakers. one row says amp 1, and the other says amp 2. would i just do one speaker on one row, then the other on the second row? sorry its confusing. ill try and find a picture. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/pictures.php?id=11366

Right so im gonna be running an mb quart q150 4 chan amp and a sundown 3500. what i want to do is run the 4 chan off of the stock alt/electrical with big 3 and a yellow top. a friend of mine has a 190 amp alt that he wants to sell me and hes also machinist so he can make brackets and whatever i would need to do this so mounting shouldnt be a problem. i want to have the 2nd alt isolated from the cars electrical and simply dedicated to a bank of batteries (couple kinetic hc2400's or there abouts) he said the alt is internally regulated to 14.8 v. so i guess the question is.. is there anything wrong with running the 2nd alt like this? any hickups or potentially dangerous pro…

  23. So say i set my gain at 50%, if i dont even plug in the remote knob, obviously the amp operates with 50% gain. But if i plug in the remote knob and set the knob to 100%, given the amp's gain setting is still at 50%, will i have identical output? or would i have to reset the amp's gain setting with my dmm? From what i understand, the amp's gain setting sets the maximum level of gain, and the remote adjusts the percentage of that gain setting you want to use. i.e. you have the amp gain set at 50%, and the knob at 50%, so you'd be using the equivalent of setting the amp's gain at 25% with no boost knob correct?
