So, I just picked up an 07 Mazda 3, and if you have seen these cars... they have a b*tch of a dash. (For aftermarket head units). I have already picked out a few dash kits and such. Plus, the mazda has steering wheel controls just for the radio so it would be cool if I could keep those if there is a head unit that I could hook up to those. And if not... then that is a bummer. So basically I'm looking for a decent head unit that can possibly hook up to the steering wheel. I would like the head unit to not look "out of place" as well. Basically not look like crap. So i just got a 200 watt 2 channel and some comps. I already have a mono amp and some 12s. The sub amp turns on when the key is in the on position. You can't hear it in the acc position. When I wire my comps and the new amp, will I be able to listen to the radio with the key in the acc position? I usually like to listen to the radio on my lunch break, etc. Will I just have to turn the key to the on position for that?

I just installed a hifonics Zeus zrx3000.1d. I was wondering if a 4 gauge big 3 upgrade would help with the light dimming and give the amp more consistent power? Any ideas? If so, I saw on knukonCeptz.com that they had 4 gauge wire for 95 cents per foot.

Have factory 6x9 rear and thinking to go back with a Treo 8 sub instead of going with the 6.5. The amp that I was going to use to run the 2 set of 6.5 was a Solid Audio F20 @ 300 watts how much more power I need to run the TS 8 which is 150 watts?

My SAZ-3000 arrived today and I have two powermaster batteries on the way (D5100R, D3100.) I'm looking for ways to run 2 connections of 1/0 in addition to the factory cable to my D5100R and two 1/0 per terminal for the D3100. I'm trying not to buy 4 expensive Stinger type battery terminals. Can someone please show me some options of how to do this in a way that functions and looks nice but won't cost $80 to $100. Pictures of your setup would be nice. Thanks

Hey everyone, I am taking the car in tomorrow to get my amps installed and I need to go get a wiring kit. I am looking for some quick advice on what I need and what gauge wire, I really would rather purchase this before hand then get overcharge at the shop. I want to go ahead and get all the wiring I will need for 2 sundown 1200's and a Sundown 100.4 I also am having a friend do the Big Three, What wire type/gauge will I need for that. I am only going to be running 1 or the 1200's and a older 2 channel amp, but I want them them to go ahead and install all of them so when I get the electrics upgraded I can go ahead and have it ready. Alpine 9811 Kicker 550.3 ED 6000 Had this set up for bout 3 years now no probs but over the last month when i listen to it at 28 and above the treble get all muffled and u cant hear the highs. When i turn it down to say 20-24 for a min or so the treble returns and all is normal. this happen no matter what source i use Ipod/CD/Tuner and it is hap more freq. Is it the HU/Amp/Mid&high??? or RCA cables???

Im sorry to waste your guy's time with this one.. im about 99.99% of the answer but I have to ask. I got my order from knukonceptz yesterday, i had ordered 2 of their ANL fuse holders with 2 250A fuses. They sent me 300A fuses. clearly their mistake after checking the confirmation email. Ive been told to fuse to your wire. the wire i have is the KLMX KnuKonceptz wire which states loads up to 250A .. these 2 fuses were meant to go in between 2 batteries (kinetik hc2000 and hc1800) I have the proper fuses for everything else just these 2 that are a little higher than i asked for. Do i gotta go spend the $10 or so and get the right fuses? or even worse wait for knu to send m…

Looking into getting a new head unit and want to get a digital reciever. Does anybody already have one and how do you like it? I havent bought a CD in i dont kow when and listen to my Ipod more than the radio, so losing the CD playback wont be a problem to give up. They all have the same basic features that i am looking for with the main difference being with the Sony's Ipod tray. i am considering purchasing a pc2150 from a forum member. is it possible to put this battery under the hood or is it exclusively a second battery? i am running a zx2500.1 and a 200 amp alt. i need a new stock battery and i need a car audio battery. was hoping i could solve both problems with this one battery.

Got my alternator in and hooked up today, but had a few issues. First of all, the new alt came with a different plug. One of the wires was longer than the other three, and it was in the exact same place that there was a wire on the original plug (the original is a 4-pin, but there is only one wire leading into it. This one wire is in the same location as the one long wire in the new plug). I decided to just use the old plug, as the other three plugs on the new pin are insignificant. Has anyone on here ever used a computer as an audio processor? I want to have a rockford 3 sixty style audio processor in my truck and was thinking that i have spare computers and i have heard of people putting imacs in there cars in place of decks so that got me thinking into what expansion cards/audio programs are out there for such purposes? anyone have any thoughts?

So lastnight I installed a digital volt meter in my dash, and today I noticed that when starting the car it reads around 14.5v, when not running it reads around 12.8v...However driving around a bit I see my voltage drop down to around 12.8v, not staying at 14.5v, even if I'm not pushing my subwoofers... Is this normal? I assume it has something to do with the alternator?

I'm looking at getting this head unit. Anyone with experience with it? I have owned a eXcelon X889. Loved it. Wish I never sold it. Would this be a nice choice or is there better for around the price of this one?

I recently picked up a 05 Impala, and due to a problem with my other car, am stripping out the wiring kit in it to throw in the impala. I have an Aftermarket deck in my other car (A Grand Am), but I believe it has a short or something thats screwing up my electrical system >=( Anyhow, I had a buddy do my wiring on the Grand Am, and since I didn't have a precut hole in the firewall, he ran it by the side of the door. Only problem is, in Arizona, the heat and weather is horrible, so the wire is hella faded and looks like it is being rubbed or something. So obviously I'm going to need to replace that. I've got an Eclipse CD5030 with the optional tuning mic and I can't seem to get the auto time alignment nor auto EQ to change any settings. I've read the online manual and I'm fairly sure I'm doing it correctly, each time I do either setup the HU displays "Completed" then I hit the Enter key and none of the settings change. Any suggestions?

1997 GMC Sierra 1500 extended cab with 3rd door. When I turn ignition to ACC, doors automatically lock (which they never did before). Inside, door lock button (driver's side and sometime passenger side) does not work, doors must be unlocked manually. When trying to exit, remote does not work inside the cab when I turn truck off. Once I exit and close driver door, the remote works to lock the doors 98% of the time. There are some minor variations, but that seems to be the regular gig. I could use a little help with this one. First of all I used the forums' search feature and I did not find any topics under "impedance rise". I currently am powering my XCON with a Crescendo 3kwp. I set the amplifier gain and ssf with my dvm. My XCON is wired for 1 ohm. With a little math my wrms output of my 3kwp should be around 1750 using -3db test tones ranging from 32-60hz. So here is my thoughts on impedence rise. I used a dvm and test tones to set my amplifier gain. This does not take into account any impedance rise between the narrow band of frequencies that my XCON plays. I was originally thinking of going with the alpine 9886 unit, but are there any other notable HU that stand with this unit. Ive looked at pioneers, dont really like their single knob and form, Ive looked at Eclipses, and I dont really like the display, But I havnt looked at Kenwoods, im sort of thinking they lack in quality but my buddy has a touch screen and loves it, so he recommended get a Kenwood.
