Hey all.I have a question about wiring subs.I have 2 dual 4 ohm subs. Now I know to wire to 1 ohm i would connect + to + and - to - on each sub then run a wire from the + on one sub to the + on the other and the same thing with the -.Ok here is my question.I just got a different box today.I dont have enough speaker wire to do it the way i mentioned above and plus i would ave to run the wire behind the port and I dont know if that would be ok or not.So what i did was wire each sub to 2 ohm by itself by connecting + + and - - on each sub.SO,when i connect both subs to my amp that way will it still be a 2 ohm load or what will he load be?Thanks

I just picked up a memphis digital display voltage meter and I'm not too sure how I should hook this up.. I'm thinking the positive 12v wire should be ran from the battery to the gauge and the negative to a ground somewhere? And can I just use speaker wire? I'll post a pic while I'm waiting for a response from you guys. Those posts on the bottom are positive and negative, they are also removable.. I was hoping to take those posts off so i could fit the meter in a little nook in my dashboard.

  6. hey guys u have a fi bl 18in dual 1 ohm going to a 1200gto jbl amp at 1200watts rms at 2ohm. i want to make sure that i had this right when i go to set my gains. So i put the 50hz tone. The math is 1200X2(rmsXimdependance) then take the square root of that so i should get 48.98 so when i go to set my gains and i use the volt metter i should set it until i get to 48.98. im pretty sure thats how you do it but just wanna double check dont wanna blow my sub im goin to post pics soon the box for it is amazing custom paint by friend

Just getting ideas for the next system. I want two 15's max depth of box is 26" and max width is 34-36". Height can vary. I am thinking of icons (I want my next subs to be from ssa) And am just trying to find good amplifier options. I would like something less expensive than the 2000D, but if it comes to it, that is just what i will get. Any good amplifiers that will put 2000wrms out at one or two ohms?

  11. I am ordering 2 RE XXX 6.5c sets. And am planning to use the sundown amp to power it all. Do I use the front or rear rca output on my deck to the amp. One component set in my front doors one in my rear doors. Or does it matter since I will be using the x-over network provided with the comp set.

I'm looking at getting this head unit. Anyone with experience with it? I have owned a eXcelon X889. Loved it. Wish I never sold it. Would this be a nice choice or is there better for around the price of this one?

My car has a stock 78amp alternator, but I will be swapping in a 140 amp alternator from a different car. (car is an 87 Buick regal, new alternator will be from 90's caprice). Will this upgrade be enough to run an ed NINe.1 at 1ohm without adding more batts? The amps max draw is 160amps, but not sure what it will draw under normal use. I have the big 3 done in 4 gauge and a regular battery.

Hello. I need help selecting an amp for a Cerwin Vega 12" Stoker. My budget is $500. I had my eyes set on a Hifonics XXV- Colossus. Supposedly it's rated 1x3200@ 2-Ohms, which sounds like more than enough to power a stroker efficiently, but after some reading in this forum, the brand now sounds like borderline garbage. I also hear that this speaker requires a very large custom box, or is that also a myth? I have a 99 Crown Vic, so space is no object. Is there anyone here that builds them, or online? If not can anyone help me with specs to take to a local audio shop? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I bought a Kinetik HC1200 because my Diehard gold battery is getting a little old and only charges to about 3/4s original capacity. It got here last night and I figured Id test how it compared simply by dropping it in place of the Diehard. (I do realize Kinetik reccomends at least a HC1800 for replacing main starting battery) Didnt charge it till it was all connected, let it sit in there over night. At that time the lights when the door was opened were quite a bit brighter, good sign I thought. Although the starter seemed to turn over a little faster the dash lights and my seatbelt indicator buzzor almost went completely out. I played some bass on my way to work, and noti…

Hey everyone, I wanted to share with you my techniques for wiring and using techflex. I really enjoy using it to protect wiring and it does a great job of "cleaning up" the install. It's also great for revamping older wiring. Enjoy!

I'm trying to help find my friend a us amps xt-2000. I'm looking specifically for the older models which had 90 amps of fusing and did rated power. They used to be for sale on ebay for around $120 but now the only site i can find it for sale on is woofersetc and it's like over 300 bucks. So if you guys could find any legit sites with this amp for sale please let me know. Thanks

Walking through Target the other day I saw an interesting Pioneer box out of the corner of my eye. Not expecting to see nice head decks or anything really pioneer at target, I checked it out and found they were selling CD-IB100II iPod adapters for $14 a piece! I can't find these for less than $50 online. They had at least one left, so if anyone here needs one cheap, $14 + shipping and I can probably send you one. I love finding deals like this!

I'm look at this amp to buy and I'm a bit skeptical because it's pretty cheap (relatively). I have done a search on here and seen some opinions but there are few and contradicting and most are from the beginning of the year so I'm hoping for some other opinions from people who have had one for a while. I'd be planning to push 2 12" Qs. Also perhaps some other recommendations of amps capable of doing 2kw at 1 ohm.

Is there an adapter so I can use the factory XM antenna in the 2009 Accord with an aftermarket headunit and it's XM module? I have the Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD head unit and am getting http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...ite/GEX-P920XM. I just want to avoid having to run a new antenna.

I'm trying to find info about power wire / fuse for this amp but coming up short on answers. I'm not planning on bridging the amp so all channels stereo. The car alt is 110 with big three in 4g. Being that this amp is extremely effiecient will my stock alt / batt be enough? As for fuses I'm at a complete loss as this amp does not come with any internal fusing. My goal is obviously run an inline and also have a fused distro block, even tho this will be the only amp. Probably a stupid question but I just want to properly have this amp protected. Im not partial to either 4g or 1g for the power so either would be fine.
