i got a question about a rockford fosgate amp so..... i got a fi bl 12'' and had it hooked up to a planet audio rxd1000 and it worked fine but was really underpowered just got mt new amp in today , a rockford fosgate r1000-1d and my sub isnt working now i checked everything from remote wire, to fuses, to how i wired the sub and i cant find out why it isnt working any ideas please?

Today i got my AQ2200 (used) and hooked it up to my dvc 4ohm(wired to 1ohm) type r's just to see how it works, it was dark out so i couldnt/didnt really have time to tune the amp correctly.. but i did do it by ear real quick., and i have to say.... i was REALLY dissapointed My PDX1000 performed/powered better.. i set the gains on that by ear, but acually sat there for about an hour listening to it and turning lil by lil. (not like i did with the AQ) My question is should i be afriad its defective? oh.. and do i HAVE to use the bass knob? - i dont like having one. Thank you dom.

Hello i recently purchased 2 of the power acoustics 55001d amps to power 4 SSAicon 15's. turns out the amps are complete garbage and i wish i never got them. anyways i'm sending one back to either get store credit or sell both on craigslist to purchase one of the 2 models of hifonics ( heard they are better then they used to be) and for the price i cant beat it. 1 amps per 2 subs. so my question is the subs are approx 1000w rms and the BXi 2010d should be baseline for the subs. but is it worth the extra $120 per amp worth it for the extra 600w (BXi 2610d)? also if anybody has firsthand experiance with these amps your feedback is greatful.

Hi 99 Oldsmobile Alero Yellow optima up front and one in the rear Powerbastards 220amp alt knu 1/0gauge (+ and -) front to back, big3 as of today. no fuses. problem persists Im getting a drop from 14.4 to as low as 13.2 when I bring the car to a stop Sometimes it stays at 14.4 when I stop but most of time it dont 13.2 is about as low as it gets, its random and sometimes doesnt drop at all I only get this reading from the rear battery I dont have any of my amps connected, no sound, still a drop The rear battery is grounded to the negative in the front I have also tried grounding the rear battery to the point under the seatbelt bolt that i have used before (no luck) The fr…

I am admitting to being a newb at this stuff but hey, everyone was, at once, one as well lol I had a couple RE SX12's hooked up to a 1600W amp in my last car with a 105 amp alternator and they sounded amazing but it was hooked up with no electrical upgrades, not even big 3, so the lights dimmed out when the bass hit. I have bought a used car now and the alternator is most likely between 80-105 amps and my new amp is 2400W (Hifonics BRZ2400.1D - latest model). I am also debating between a DC Audio level 4XL 15, level 5 15, AA mayhem 15 or even an 18 of any of those. So i have an old school kicker ZR1000 2 channel "cheater amp". My buddy gave it to me to use and see if i could fix it. the only stipulation is i can never sell it, if i i get rid of it, it must go to another audio guy who would value it. Anyways, i hooked it up about a week ago and have no output. it has power, no protect light and the RCAs are good. i can turn the gain every which way i want but get no ouput. Multi meter reads 0 across the board on the outputs. i opened it up and see no visible damage. He last used it in 2007 and has had it stored in his house since. i have a audiobahn A2200HCT i had it pushin a dd3515 at 2 ohms half the power and one day i got in my car and turned the key over with out starting the car and the volume was on 7 as soon as the bass hit the amp popped 4 times all the lights work and the cooling fans it just dont make no noise ive takin it all apart and looked it over i cant find anything burnt up nothing smells funny i dont know what it is. i have some pics but i dont know how to post them on here thanks for your time

I recently installed another amp and some 6x9's in my car along with my existing sub amplifier, I have some obnoxious engine noise going on now that wasn't there or noticable before the install. My power wire and RCA's are ran on seperate sides of the car, The amps do have a common chassis ground in the trunk. Is the engine noise because of the shared ground? If you need anyother info please let me know. Thanks for the help.

no upgrded alternator yet but im in the process of looking for one for a 2003 saturn ion, the stock alternator is 105 amps. the starting battery is stock and i will be getting a xs power d2400 for my secondary battery for the 3000 watt rms system first and then change my starting battery. i wanted to know which one would be better just for starting purposes even though i know red tops are designed just for starting a vehicle best. i have researched and heard pros for a yellow and pros for a red, why would i want a yellowtop as a starting battery if i have a xs power battery in the back?

What is the reasoning for not putting one on? It should not be that hard or cost effective since many line drivers and whatnot have clipping indicators.

im sure the SS is better, but for a little more or around the same, i can get the 4 power acoustik a3000db's. anyone mess with these? what kinda power do they do? its either 4 of those or 1 ss xxx10000. theres no way im gonna get 10k w outta it though becuase thats at 16v. im gonna be running 1 300a alt and most likely 4 odessey pc1700s. more if needed... opinions? or possibly hifonics maybe? how are the new model hifonics(the ones that are black) i remeber hearing lots of problems about the old ones like the bx1000d's that they would break... help a fellow out VJ

I finally installed the stetsom 7KD (1 ohm 12 volt) and it ran very well but just yesterday it began going into protect.It throws a protect with one blink and the manual tells me that its a short circuit or below impedance.I'm running the amp at a half ohm nominal. It starts doing this when i roll into heavy bass. I triple checked all of my connections and everything is solid, voltage is in mid 13's when it cuts off.

Well I have finally gotten around to using the MB Quart PXD-213, I have had them sealed in box brand new for 6 years now. Fantastic product just never used them. The question I am having is this and it may sound like a noob issue so please be gentle. I just noticed that Treo is selling amps these days, looks they picked them up damn near a year ago too. Has anyone used or seen these at all, it looks like a nice amp and I'm sure it peforms equally as well. Does anyone know if they're using someone elses boards in them? I bet they only cost 2 arms and half a leg.

I purchased an armdso nano O-Scope at a good deal, and figured I could maybe use it to tune my amp finally. I know the dmm method of tuning, but I figured why not try it with my oscope. The only thing is, my knowledge is non existent with electronics ironically. How would you tune it with a 1 probe x1-x10 with an alligator ground clip? I assume the probe just goes in the positive part of the amp to tune it, and the alligator goes on a ground source? The one I purchased does not have a 3.5mm jack with the black and red probes. Is changing passive crossover same as changing headunit EQ? like i have a 9 band parametric EQ on my alpine 164-bt. and i have alpine spr 60c component speakers. the highs are very harsh. and im debating attempting to mess with my doors to edit the crossover. i have absolutely no clue what im doing with it. and dont want to risk much. i cannot find any videos for the year my car is. i have 2013 hyundai elantra coupe. only video i saw was for a 2005 elantra, 4 door. mine is a 2 door also and many years later. and about the passive crossover. i cant find any pictures only or guides on how to change and edit the crossover? what exactly is an EQ changing…

I have an eclipse 3640 4 channel high amp. I was wondering if anyone knew of a link to a full spec sheet. I got a new high amp, and was hoping to have a full spec sheet for potenial buyers.

i just hooked my system up, and every now and then, when i have it turned up, both my amps shut down, like the remote was coming undone at the deck. deck stays on and all, amps dont give me protect lights they just turn off for a few seconds and come back on (not always off for the same length of time) my electrical system is all stock, i believe its only a 105 amp alternator, 4 gauge wire back to the distributor, and 8 gauge to the amps. any ideas?

ok so i have a bazooka 500wrms mono im running until i get my saz-1500 fixed.... its running a fosgate power hx2 at 1ohm. its a damn good amp for the brand. i dont know much about it but lately since i got a h/u instead of my mp3 player it goes into protect when the bass hits real low note like on bass i love you for example the real low note when u get major excurssion it goes into protect. is it cause its not 1 ohm stable? gain is about 2/3 up frequency is all the way down bass boost is about 1/4 up sub level on pioneer 680mp is at about -10 thanx in advance

Looking around for a new head unit I've found that the majority of units from reputable companies (save alpine) dont have pause in their mid level units. Kenwood, Pioneer, Eclipse...none of them have pause in the $2-$300 range. My CD3434 doesnt have pause. Even sony units lack pause. Pioneer and Kenwood's lower units have pause and all of their highest units have pause...but in between it seems to be the companies think we dont like to pause our music or compeat... /rant

what is your favorite amplifer of all time and why? Mine is a Phoenix Gold M100 i had when I was 16---it was my first amp I ever bought with my own money. close 2nd is my Phoenix Gold MS1000---my wife let me buy(it was kinda like my birthday present 6months early) I still have both of these amps.
