What build houses make most internet brand amps. Is a crescendo 3.5ks any different than a AQ 3.5k and so on. What's makes one brands quality better it worse when its all the same shit.

ok, wifes car. RF 300.1 / REX12D4, got the amp set to push right around its 300 watts at 2 ohms. its wired up with 4 gauge. no other accessories like radar detectors or other amps or anything. the other night on the way home from going out to dinner I decided to keep the stereo cranked to as loud as it ever gets cranked to for the last ~10 minutes of the drive home. pulled into the driveway and left the lights on, stereo on, and the engine running. I busted out the DMM and it was basically staying at a steady 12.5 or so, then I killed the stereo and it took about 20-30 seconds and it was back around 14.3 and this is at idle. as long as the voltage is always over the ~12 …

So i believe my headunit can go up to number 35 for volume. When playing music, around 12 is pretty decent loudness, but up to around 16 is pretty loud. and i dont think i would ever turn it above 20. when there is no music playing, my speakers hiss quite loud. the same volume of hiss can be heard when the headunit volume is set from 1 to around 10. any volume above 10 on the headunit, then the speakers his increases with each volume increase. i dont really notice the hiss when theres music playing. just wondering, is this normal? is it a bad sign? how might i go about fixing it?

I plan on upgrading my battery (kinetik 1400) I want something a little bit bigger, enough to power about 1200watts rms easy. I am on a budget and see that the shuriken batteries are a little bit cheaper than optima, kinetik, and xs power. For you shuriken users, are they good batteries? ive read reviews saying they are awesome and just as good but if so why isnt everyone buying shurikens? It just sounds too good to be true. I am looking at a shuriken sk-bt1000 it's 100AH and 2250 crank amps and $225 way cheaper than the other batteries at same numbers. I'd like to know if this battery is long lasting and worth it or should I go with other brands? Don't want to waste any …

Just sold my kicker 10's and 3k amp, and am looking to go to 6 bigger tens. I will be running either the Q's or BL's from fi, or still possibly some sundown tens. I will be running at 2/3 ohm nominal, and have narrowed my amp choices down to either the Sundown NS1, or the Stetsom 7ke. I used to be a part of Team Sundown so I know what the amps are capable of, and I know I will get every bit of 7k out of it, but what about the stetsom? how does it stack up? I already read a thread in their section about the single power/ground, so not too concerned about that. This will be a musical setup for bassrace and bass boxing, so not just talking burps here. I already have the …

I was thinking of extending my power and ground wires to give me a little more flexibility with my amp install. Would it be ok to solder some extra length onto the existing wires instead of having to make a whole new run? It would probably only be a foot extra at the most.

The Fi SP4 15 is in the car and it wants power. I want to give it close to rms of 3000 watts but I have a budget of $400... Any recommendations on a truthfully rated amp (around) 3000 watts @ 1ohm?

So I cracked open some Knukonceptz Krystal 4channel RCA cables that I just took out of my car(replaced with my own I made ). and as I suspected, quadruple shielding my ass! None of the shields are grounded, I looked on both ends all look the same 2 wire conductor per rca. I cut that black heat wrap off on all of them. 1 side: other side: close up: they all look the same as this just different color conductor wires. here is another shot of the Knu where the pants meets actual cable insulator Looking for shielded RCAs? dont buy those...

After reading through a bunch of threads at a truck forum I'm on, someone asked about running a 16v system separately to power their system. I know some of the trailer-queen competitors use unregulated amps and they can crank their voltages up to 16+, but is it possible to do it in a daily-driver? Does anyone make a high-output alternator that would sufficiently charge a 16V battery (like the Kinetic KHC16V), and still be OK for daily use? Would the Kinetic last if being used daily? OR, would it be more beneficial to use a bunch of 12V batteries, dual or triple alts, and stay with regulated amps?

I am looking into buying a new 4 channel and have been looking into a couple models: the Zapco c2k 2.5x, c2k 4.0x, and dc1000.4, the Arc Audio SE 4200, the Zuki 4 channel Eleets, and the US Amps AX-TU3604C. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Also, I am planning to have one set of channels run my highs, the other my mids. The car is a 2004 tahoe with a 300 amp alternator, 2 bats, 0 awg, 10 farad RF cap, and will eventually have a US Amps AX3200de with 4 12 IDMAXs, ICONs, or Qs in a ported enclosure. The source is an Alpine IVA-W505, may switch with my 800prs and go active. And sorry the components are undecided but they will be soon, just need an amp with eno…

I installed a fi ssd lastnight. My enclosure is 2 cu ft tuned to 32 hz. At first I set the subsonic filter at about 12 o'clock and I wasn't impressed, the lows were really lacking. I figured since the filter ranges from 15-50 that half way would be 32.5. I turned the filter back to around 10 o'clock and the sub really opened up, I'm very happy with it now. I don't want to harm my new woofer so I'm just curious if I have it set correct. Other info. Hu is an alpine cda 105 (2 volt preouts). Amp gain set a hair over half way. No bass boost and I'd say the lpf is set around 10 o'clock also

I'll be running 8-8"s and 4 tweets on a SAX 100.4D and I want to have some good processing at my finger tips which is why I don't want a trunk mounted EQ. my two options are: 1.) Keep my Factory Pioneer Scion TC deck (which has a L/R and rear sub outs just like an aftermarket deck) and add an AudioControl Three.2 to it or 2.) get a bad ass headunit that has multiple procesing features to it such as Alpines CDA-117 (or similar, if you know of a better option let me know as well) and just use it's features. Thanks! I'm really torn between the two and need some more experienced opinions on where to spend my money. yes I know it would be best to do both but its hard to drop a…

I want to know which would be best for my system. Im looking at these two amplifiers.. The Sundown Audio SAZ-1500D v2 http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/Sundown-Audio-SAZ%252d1500D-v.2.html The Hifonics HFi1500D http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22707_Hifonics-HFi1500D.html Either will be powering a Sundown Audio 15" Nightshade at 1 ohm. So 1500wrms from both. Id like to know anyone who had experience with either of these amps and what you recommend for me? I have big 3 with kicker 1/0 all kicker 1/0 wiring and XS 3100. Stock alt. (130amps.) it wont be spl just fun everyday driver, SQ with a little power. thanks everyone. Will be in 2002 Ford Rang…

Does anyone have any experience with the 2003 line up of Rockford Fosgate punch amps? I'm considering picking up a Punch 150 "25 to life" amp to go along with my Punch 600.4. I'm wondering if it would be better to go with this amp or to stick with the older style 500.2 that I can get a bit cheaper.

As title says has anyone had any experience/problems with mechman alternators? I'm going to pick a new alt up this week but can't decide between ordering a DC or a Mechman. DC is $629+ shipping and mechman quoted me $449.99+shipping. I called DC on Friday but got know answer and emailed them from their website on Friday and awaiting a reply. I have looked over their topics on this forum and see some complaints with shipping/communication but know one's perfect and I just want to know if saving a couple of $$ is worth it in the long run. Just came across Alpine's new CDE-HD149BT HU and was wondering what others think of their latest and greatest. The new twist is that you can tune it via a smartphone app. Supposedly you can tweak time correction and crossover frequencies, plus a 9 band parametric EQ. The app also lets you share your tuning settings via facebook and apparently lets you save tons of settings and makes tuning easier...hype? I am looking for an active capable hu but haven't fell in love with anything yet. Hear nothing but good things about Alpine but can't find one that seems to open my wallet. I really liked this when I first saw it but the more I think of it the more it seems a little hok…

I figured this is a great place to post this. Anyways. . . My current occupation involves a great portion of the automotive electrical field. I have access to a myriad of 24V alts, and I'm wondering how feasible it would be to make some 24V amps. I would love to have half the current draw, but I don't know about the 24V electronics and interference between them and the 12V system the other accessories would run on. I have a guy I'm coordinating with right now on the amplifiers, but I'd like to get some more input. Thanks!

So how many people with the power amps or even punch amps use the punch eq ? I see Rockford and even JL audio kinda push this rebranding of bass boost but do people use it? Setting one up this Sunday for my lil brother he said the guy he's getting the power t1500bdcp tomorrow from has the remote that controls the bass boost and used it all the time and said the subs sounded amazing so is it really that bad?

Hey guys I want to make a thread and in this thread I want compare different brands of 1/0 wiring. I want to show off each wires flexibility vs other brands and also strands and what not. What I plan to do is to buy say 5ft of 1/0 from different supplies and then do a comparison. so far i want to buy the 2 brands by KNU the koluss and CCA also 1/0 from www. welding-supplies.com and some 1/0 from kicker. What I need to know is if there are other brands that ppl like to use like street wiring or ... let me know and we will go from there! thanks and I hope everyone enjoy the thread I make. Kenneth
