I was just wondering if anyone has used or seen this amp? I just came across it and seen its a fairly small amp and was wondering if it would be good for running my mids and highs. Here's a link http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_43536_Pioneer-PRS-D800.html Let me know what you guys think.

I'm still waiting for the GCON 10-D2 to actually arrive, but figured I'd take the time to look for a amp to power this beast now. It will be in a sealed box, in a saturn ion 2003. Looking to present a 1ohm load at amplifier, since I'm assuming that power at 4ohms is asking too much for my budget. No HO alt, or big 3 done yet, assuming it won't be needed yet though. I was mostly wondering if I'd need to feed it the full 750w, or if I could get by with less, near the 500w level? Just wondering as my budget is a bit tight currently, and I was hoping to grab the amp for under $150. Given what I've listed, would any of these amps work well, or are there others I should be cons…

  4. I just bought a brand new sound ordnance 4 channel amp and am still waiting for a new set of speakers for my car. in the meantime I decided to test out a pair of some old alpine type r 6.5s I pulled out of my old car. they don't fit so I put them in a hasty cardboard box to put in the backseat. after installing the amp and hooking up the speakers as rears with the rcas and unplugging my rear stock speakers the alpine hooked up to the amp weren't playing at all. I remember these speakers were working perfectly before and have just been sitting in my house since. I made sure everything was wired properly, the amp turns on, protection light doesn't go on or anything and I ju…

Going to be running an alpine pdx-f6 (60amp fuses), and alpine pcx-m6 (80amp fuses). Would 0ga just be over kill? These are going in the rear of a crew cab colorado and splitting at a distribution block. So it will be ether 0ga in and 2 4ga out or 4ga in and 2 4ga out. Thanks

  6. I have about 30 1990's amplifiers. Mostly Precision Power. I want to test the amplifiers both for functionality and for max unclipped output. I will record the data on a spreadsheet. I will also record by video. Method : Power supply - 12v car battery Source - Ipod Load - (2) 200w 8ohm non-inductive resistors Oscilloscope - DSO Nano panel meter for measuring power supply voltage Amplifier output, resistor, DSO Nano, and volt meter connections "Switched" turn-on Positive and negative blocks Wattage will be calculated using P=E^2/R. Resistance of the dummy load will be measured before and after the test. Are there any faults in my testing method? First amp tested i…

So i have an old school kicker ZR1000 2 channel "cheater amp". My buddy gave it to me to use and see if i could fix it. the only stipulation is i can never sell it, if i i get rid of it, it must go to another audio guy who would value it. Anyways, i hooked it up about a week ago and have no output. it has power, no protect light and the RCAs are good. i can turn the gain every which way i want but get no ouput. Multi meter reads 0 across the board on the outputs. i opened it up and see no visible damage. He last used it in 2007 and has had it stored in his house since. I'm just wondering if it would be worth getting it looked at and repaired, and if so, what would be too …

Just getting into car audio so be kind. I have 2 dvc rockford fosgate hx2 10's (500rms) Sealed 1.5cf box. I know these amps are overkill but eventually I will be upgrading my subs. Ive narrowed it down to 3 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_23550_Hifonics-Brutus-BRZ2400.1D.html on my local clist theres a used aq2200 for $300 Sundown Audio SAZ1500D V1s for $275 Id consider the crescendo 2000 but its on backorder.. I'll also be doing the big 3 upgrade. I can add a second alternator and battery if needed, but i dont 'think' ill need to get that serious yet. Right now im more concerned with sound quality (I listen to alot of rock) than I am with brute force. But i think…

Hi, I want to know how exactly can I measure the exact amount of RMS wattage output my amplifier is delivering to the subwoofer, reason asking is because my amplifier is too powerful for my current subwoofer and I will limit my amplifier to the maximum Rms power handling of my subwoofer, Thank you.

Hey Guys, I need help from anyone who has experience or knowledge on the AudioControl DQS Processor. I have the DQS (which is an amazing piece) w/ the DDC. I understand the freq (eq) adjustments just fine. My question is on the octave slopes. This is more in depth than I've ever had to deal with or most anyone I know has to deal with. I just plain dont understand what the 1/3, 1/2, 3/4 & 1 octave width selection adjustment for each freq is for, or the purpose of the boost (level) of whichever octave width you choose. Is there a general rule of thumb or a general selection in these settings? I have a big setup w/ lots of power & I feel like I have this great compon…

Well I been wanting to upgrade and been looking into a lot of stuff and pretty much came down to a whole new system lol. But I been thinking and I have this nice 9887 HU installed with HSK165 up front and currently using the passive crossovers. I figured why not try running them active? huh why not so I been looking up info on a active system and now looks like I need a new amp in order to do this. So I've been digging around for an amp and not sure what I should go with, Ive been looking at a Alpine PDX-F4, DD C5C, SD SAX-125.4 or 100.4 (used), IA 6.4 and even a Zed Draconia-II and the problem is a can't really make up my mind cause I'm looking for 100-125w x 4ch amp for…

Hi, I'm looking for your experienced recommendations, for a good efficient 3000+ RMS bass amp, it's to power 1 15'' 3000rms Fi SP4 D2 sub and keeping in mind I have a low budget(hope to spend a lot less than $600), car has already all the electrical upgrades. Thank you.

A pair of 4-ohm DVC GCONs are on the way. I'd like to think that up to $300 could get me into a decent quality 1-ohm stable amp to drive these. I have a run of 1/0 OFC to power this. I know what the numbers say, but you guys know the real world on what I could/should use to power these. Prefer to buy something used/taken care of; I think I can get more for my money that way. Looking around, some options that I *think* would be good are Soundstream (Reference), Audioque, Sundown Audio, Crescendo...probably a bunch of others. Just looking for some guidance. If it's been hashed out already, please point me there while I search!

  15. So I've been pondering the idea for a while, but now I've started to putting it in real sense. I would like to take all my audio/video source into one media source. Now, I'm aware of people placing "Carputer"s into their vehicle, I guess in a sense, this is what I would like to do, but not 100%. I would still like to keep a 7" DVD unit as the headunit and the brains of my vehicle. Currently, I have the Pioneer 4300DVD, but I also have my eye on the Clarion NX702. Either system supports many ways to go about extending its media source. So currently, I've been using my ipod for the most of my music, and music videos. Then I would use the the cd/dvd slot for watching movies…

So in my next build I'm going to be running around 3500 watts probably a bc3500. For my current electrical setup i have a dc 270xp alt the big 3 and a d5100r in the front. Voltage @ idle is 15.2v. If i run 2 runs of ofc 0ga to a deka 9a31 in the back then one 2ft run of 0ga from the batt to amp is it going to be enough to to keep me above 13v for the most part or will i need a second 9a31 in the back. I plan on getting a second one later on anyway but would it be necessary? Thanks.

So I've wondered this and never seen any tested answers. If i had a 750 watt amp at 1ohms and another 2000watt amp at 1 ohm and 750 at 4 ohms and I want 750 for my subs given same model and same efficiency at same ohm which would draw more current? A bigger amp wired to 4 ohm or a small amp wired to 1 ohm. Example would be a crescendo bc2000 at 4 ohm vs a aq750 at 1 ohm. Anybody tested this and have any thoughts, experiences etc. Hope this is easy to understand as I tried to word it best I could

I had been using an RE Audio XTX3000.1 but decided to move over to the new Sun Down. On paper they're very close in specs but in real life it seems like the RE has substantially more power output. I have the gain turned all the way up on the SAZ-1500D with no clipping and still isn't real strong until I turn the volume way up. The RE gets louder and a much lower volume levels. Any idea if this is normal? I'm sure both companies probably rate their amps different. FWIW, I'm running a fully loaded Fi Q12 in a sealed 1.2 cu ft box (after sub displacement). I've got a Diehard Platinum battery with 1/0 AWG big 3 done.

  21. I have had a dva-9861 setup for several years, I have the Digital sound processor, XM radio and HD radio units connected to it and for the first time I tried hooking up an ipod. I tried a 5th Gen Nano and a 7th gen Classic and in both cases it recognizes the ipod, displays the name of the song on the screen and the "Timer" runs to show how long into the song it is but there is No sound at all. is there any internal setting I have to change to make it work? thanks, Sparty

Did a small build in my daily driver and have no dimming of tail/dash lights at normal listening levels. I occasionally listen to it moderately loud when Im in the mood and when the double bass drums hit heavy or the bass guitar digs deep and loud I notice a faint amount of dimming.
