Ok guys I have a 2010 tahoe with my stock alt and a DC 270 xp alt. They are both on a bracket, but what I really want to know is how to run my second alt at 18v. PLEASE be very detailed because I did not put the alt in and have very little experience with this sort of thing. Thanks ahead of time.

i have a m1d1 usamps amp. it says its a mono amp so does that mean i can only run one sub off of it cause the way it looks it has a pace for two. and if i can run two will they be getting the same power if wired up the same. say if i wire it to one ohm will they both be getting 1200 watts?

Sorry, the topic may be a little vague. I've recently found myself researching amplifiers as I may be replacing my zapco c2k 9.0xd amp shortly. I have 2 12" dvc subs with 1ohm per coil, and they handle 1800wRMS/ea. they're situated in a 4.2cu/ft box tuned to 30hz. The zapco puts out around 2200wRMS and I was looking for something a little closer to the subs rated input or over. So I've been working on a spreadsheet to compare different amps to try and discern a value. This task has been pretty difficult, most of the amps I'm looking at seem to be extremely similar or clones of one another? I know this may sound kind of odd, but is there any way that i can run a car amp out of my room wall socket? I was thinking maybe something like a 12v DC adapter from some random thing, but i don't want to fry my amp. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance, Mike B.

Hello everyone. There have been numerous times where my voltage drops to 11.7. I usually have a constant 12.8, or 12.9 (never 13 ) On idle with music a little bit up (volume knob at around 20 out of 30) and/or other electronics in car I'm around 12.5 but when I'm at idle and my music is up it can get to 11.7-11.8 I have a 96 civic. Stock alt is 70amps. I have a kinetik 800 under hood and big three done with 1/0 kicker wires. Those are currently the only electrical upgrades I have. so i was not going to buy a head unit in the first place but now that im thinking i can probably use the features for the eq... i have been looking at the clarion vz300 and that appeals to me, but also the jensen vm9224 i dont know much about jensen and im not sure if they are a reliable brand, so some help here would be nice.. in fact i wouldnt mind suggestions for other headunits as long as they are under 250

I have an older 4 channel class AB amplifier that was made by Dragster Audio Art. Amplifier goes straight into protect. I asked Chris at dB-r a couple years ago and he said more than likely it was bad output fets. Chris does not work on older amplifiers like this anymore. I am looking for some feedback on Ampmedics more than anything as we know what kinda quality Mr. Mantz is known for. Here is a couple board shots of the amplifer. I need to run a mtx 7514-04. what would be the cheapest thing possible? Well i dont even need to give it full power. all i need to do is make it bump good. but i don't know what kind of watttage it would need to make it sound good (givin that is an vague word anyways). just the cheapest way to run it i guess, thank you.

im deciding between these two decks for awhile now and i wanted to know who has which and what they like about it. I can get the x889 for $218 or i could pay an extra $100 and get the pio 860mp.Now ive heard that the pio is alot easier to use and might have a better eq and other stuff but is it better then the x889 and worth the extra $100???

Ok, I just got this amp from a friend, I was unaware I needed a 300 amp fuse for it, but I hooked it up anyway without one. It works fine without the fuse, but Kicker plainly states it needs the 300 amp fuse. So, I go to a local shop and buy the Kicker fuse holder and a 250 amp anl fuse, they did not have 300 amp fuses so I figured 250 was better than nothing. Also, Kicker recommends 1 gauge minimum, I have 2 gauge power and ground in the car now, I plan to upgrade ALL wire to 1 gauge, but my question is, will the 2 guage hurt the amp while I am scrounging money for wire? So I finished installing my 2 12" GCONS/Kicker ZX1000.1/LC2i/DC-Creations Sealed Enclosure into my 2012 GLI and I have a couple of questions for some of you more experienced guys. My car had a factory subwoofer (fender audio system) so I tapped into the subwoofer speaker wires for the line-out signal. The low frequency bass sounds GREAT but the higher frequencies are weak, almost like they're dropping off. Since the factory subwoofer was hitting all these higher bass notes before I disconnected it, the factory head unit/amp MUST be sending the full range signal back to the input of the LC2i, no? So I have Audison Voce tweeters, mid range & mid bass on my challenger & need help choosing a 6 channel amp & also have audison bit one on vehcile. Was looking at the arc audio xdi 1200.6 or mosconi one 6ch series but the arc audio has more wattage & its cheaper.

Got my temporary ap1500d in the mail and installed. Set the gains via voltmeter, which I know is not the best method but thats what I have currently. Also tried confirming with my ear. Have 0 to 4 gauge reducers both put in, and included a picture of everything. Wired at 2ohms, voltage doesn't drop at ALL before protection light kicks in. The old amp would drop the voltage into the 12s. Gain is not even a 4th of the way up. With the new amp, its not as loud as it was nor is there as much flex as there was with my mtx7801d. Did I do something wrong? I feel this amp should be "putting out" better than what it is.

Is it possible to wire four 4 ohm dvc subs to a 2 channel amp, with each channel seeing 2 ohms? I have them running at four ohms, but can you use series and parallel wiring to create this load? If I set each sub in parallel wiring (+ to + and - to -, right?)and then run the - from one channel to one sub, the positive from that channel to the other sub, and a wire connecting the other + and - terminals from sub to sub, would this do it? I see people saying their rms "clamped" all the time, I'm curious to know what my Memphis is actually putting out. I have an amp probe and a dmm. How would I go about clamping my amp to see the power it is putting out?

With CCA power wire becoming more popular due to cost, it may be benefical to do some research on the brand your buying as there are plenty of companies trying to sell total crap! Check out the pic below from KnuKonceptz and check out the tru differences.

I have a Denon DCT-A100 HU and I have been looking for some good external signal processors since the Denon has absolutely nothing as far as processing goes. I'm basically looking for at least a 30 band EQ that has all your basic features, time alignment, etc. What are my options?
