The only dash kits for my car are ugly as hell and are known for malfunctioning. I would like to use a tablet as a "head unit". Is there any way I could use a 3.5mm audio jack to a split RCA to get a signal to a sub amplifier and a 2 channel amplifier? My stock system sucks and doesn't feature usb and I don't feel like tapping into my speakers with a line output converter.

A buddy of mine has an Autotek Super Sport 1500.1. He is willing to sell it to me, but hasn't named a price yet. Are these amps good quality? Will it be too much for a single 15" FI BL? and are they overrated?

I'm looking for a HU with a super clean look that has a decent amount of EQ capability, can take an aux source (planning on installing a carputer) plays cd's and has some good bass management. It's going to go into the expedition and power the stock speaks ATM untill I get a new front stage which is the next step in the evolution of my car remodel along with the car puter this winter and subs by next spring. I have no Idea what to look for in a good HU for Just audio management. the less bling and more function the better, I don't relly care what size it is but I do want to keep the cost under 400, at absolute max. I would be much happier at under 300usd. I have an olde…

  6. Whats going on guys, I'm facing a little dilemma. About a month ago I ordered two SSA Xcon 12's, I was planning on running them on my Audiopipe APCL3000 monoblock, but from what I hear these things are comfortable at a little above their rated power handling (1750 rms each), so I decided that I was going to only used the Audiopipe 3000 to break the subs in, then I will be upgrading to a bigger amp (maybe a 4000-5000 watt monoblock). I ordered my subs at DVC 2ohm so that I could wire them both in series up to 4ohm, then wire the subs together in parallel to give my Audiopipe amp a 2 ohm load, because that's where its stable and makes its power at. But now I can't find an…

  7. I have a 1999 Buick Park Avenue and am getting ready to purchase the things that I am still missing in my setup. My main concern is my Audiobahn 2300hct powering my 2 12" JL W7's at 1ohm. I have a yellow top for the trunk and a capacitor as well, here is where I'm lost as I've never used an extra battery or a cap before. The AB has 4x40 fuses, and I also plan to buy a 4 channel amp that does 75x4 rms {not sure on model yet}. My first question is how many fuses should I run throughout setup? Currently I have a 200amp ANL fuse, should I run this 18" from the battery {front duralast, or trunk yellow top}, or should I run a 200amp ANL at each battery? I Also plan on purchasi…

I just picked up an amp off a buddy of mine, and 2 of the allen head screws to tighten down the speaker wires are stripped. Was just wondering if any of you knew where to pick those up at individually? I'd rather get phillips head screws to replace them so I don't have to hunt down an allen set everytime I need to adjust something. Thanks

Being an impulsive person- I done jumped off and ordered a dual alt bracket. Figuring 2 270 amp alts would be plenty for my setup. I was thinking, just run everything parallel, and rock on. But now I am reading that it isn't that simple. My Avalanche's alt is pcm controlled. Can I just tie in another pigtail for the 2nd alt? And have both alts charge both of my batteries? Current Parts- 1 270a Alt (would like to run 2) 2 kinetik 1800's 1 BC 5500 (will prolly be at .5 when said and done, hence wanting 500 amps on tap) 1 S800.4

I just got my pioneer 80prs installed in my Malibu yesterday. Love it! I see pioneer put up a few YouTube vids of how to operate. Basically there is a switch on the unit itself for a standard mode or network mode. Network seems to open a lot of features up according to reviews. I am NOT running active, but would love more features to tinker with. Anyone have any specific knowledge of these 2 modes? I don't want to remove the deck to change the switch if its not needed for my setup. Any info needed please ask

  14. Okay ppl I'm not really a beginner with stereo systems but I am a beginner with the more powerful stereo system set ups i guess you could say... a few questions I have... 1. How do you know whether you do or you don't need additional batteries and amplifiers to run your set up? 2. How do you determine how many batts/alts you need? 3. How would you mount/install multiple batts/alts? 4. What are the best quality but yet cheap types of batts/alts?

Is it possible to hook up an alpine h701 to an eclipse 8053 say, through the aux input? Or anyway for that matter. I love my 8053 and really don't want to part with it if it's possible. At the same time though, I want an EQ at my finger tips via the h701 and c701. If I could hook that combo up to my 8053 and it work it'd be all good. thoughts?

Hi, I recently purchased a used Alumapro 15 Farad Cap. The guy I bought it from was using it with no relay or solenoid which Alumapro provides when purchased new. Am I ok with using it how he had it with no accessories? I've asked around but not many people are too familiar with The CAP. Thanks!

Is it possible to wire four 4 ohm dvc subs to a 2 channel amp, with each channel seeing 2 ohms? I have them running at four ohms, but can you use series and parallel wiring to create this load? If I set each sub in parallel wiring (+ to + and - to -, right?)and then run the - from one channel to one sub, the positive from that channel to the other sub, and a wire connecting the other + and - terminals from sub to sub, would this do it? Here's what I'm talking about. (pic may not work) Just hooked up these subs, but they sound distorted and just terrible, will they sound better after they break in, or just lower/louder? Replaced 4 RF P1 12's with 4 infinity 1252w's, a…

  19. I'll start with the electrical rundown- EA 220 amp alt., big 3 in 0ga, xs d2400 under hood, deka 100ah g31 agm in trunk, 1 pos. run 0ga between batts, all cable is ofc. Now for the questions, first the alt- i was told that the bolts holding the alt in place are all the ground you need but i feel like i should have a 0ga ground also. good idea? unnecessary? Now for some fusing-how should my pos. between batts be fused? i have an aq3500d.1 about to go in, do i need to fuse for its 400 amp rating?,fuse for the max current capacity of the cable at 15-20ft?, fuse for the max amt of amps that my alt and front batt can deliver? Are there any performance differences in anl vs. t…

Hi Looking for some help with this please - on whether I should expand: I have the following setup: - Sony headunit (not sure what model but it its only 25w x 4 with ~2v preouts - Alpine MRV F300 - Alpine SPX 17PRO component set - Alpine SBR S8 4 subwoofer I have connected the SPX 17 PRO set to two channels of the F300 amplifier. I have bridged the other two channels of the F300 and connected this to the subwoofer (only 150W RMS). I don't play my music at or near the full volume often. Would you recommend adding a monoblock to the system (maybe Alpine M500) to drive the amplifier? I don't often have anyone in the back seat so have not put another set in t…

So i purchased a stetsom 7KD and I am curious what the external fuse rating is. i looked up the manual online but it only has info for the two ohm version. The one i purchased is the one ohm 12 volt version. Also when i install this amp I will add another battery or two to what i have.I have noticed that a lot of setups have unfused connections on their terminals. As of now i have two batteries with two fuses 12 inches from each terminal. so if i install a third would i need another two fuses or would that only be necessary if they were a certain distance apart? And of course when i do the install i will do another positive run and dual input terminals. Thanks

  23. I have: mechman 270 amp 2 kinetik hc2000s 0 gauge knuknoceptz with big three -1 hifonics brz1200 (subs) rockford prime (highs) I installed the mechman alternator it said in the instructions to NOT ground to the body as it will cause problems so I skipped this step. My question is do I need to ground the battery in the back if the one up front is not grounded to the frame? I have ran the batteries in parallel using 0 gauge on the - terminals amd + terminals so is this step really necessary? My next question is using a distribution block. I have a 0 gauge distribution block that splits into two 4 gauge terminals. I have my hifonics grounded to the frame with 0 gaug…
