Got the sub and amp installed last night, and was noticing some dimming of the headlights driving around. I'm not really wanting to change out the alternator just yet due to warranty, but I'd like to upgrade the battery and hopefully that will resolve it. The amp is an Audioque 1200d running at 1ohm, so its making right around 1200w. Not really sure which route to go for a battery. Should I look in to an Optima or Interstate type battery, or go the route of an XS battery? It would be the main/only battery and used for daily use in both really warm and cold temps.

Noticed one of my 40 amp fuses on my 1500d is fuzzy looking on the left inside part of it. I'm not trying to damage anything, so I'm wondering what's the proper way to remove a fuse without causing anything else to break? Thanks, Nick

Im trying to put together a new system for my car. Im aiming for about 7k watts what electrical needed for that? i already have a high output alt,i bought it from mechman last year so i cant remember if its a 260 or 270 amp

I am going to be buying a 2015 or 2016 Acura TLX v6. I believe the system comes with 10 speakers. I am trying to plan ahead and see how I would start with putting in aftermarket speakers and 1 subwoofer. I think I need 8 channels from amplifier to do the speakers without a subwoofer. So if this is correct, I can just use 2 identical amplifiers that have 4 channels each? Also if so, would it be smart to just use 1 amp for the rear channels in the car, and 1 amp for the front channels in the car? although each speaker will be different sizes and require different amounts of power... Hey fellas!! its been a while since i last was on here. its good to see the forum still going strong!! I gots a situation i needs help with fellas. I just ordered an 220 iraggi alt for my car. I've been having battery issues for a few months now and im convinced a new alt will defitnely help my setup and maybe fix my battery issues. I have an optima red top under the hood and a kintek 800 in the back next to the amps run in series. The optima has been recharged twice and from what im told needs to be recharged again. I've done a lil research and from what i gather, optima aint the company they used to be. im sick of my red top, so my question is whats a better battery? …

So I cracked open some Knukonceptz Krystal 4channel RCA cables that I just took out of my car(replaced with my own I made ). and as I suspected, quadruple shielding my ass! None of the shields are grounded, I looked on both ends all look the same 2 wire conductor per rca. I cut that black heat wrap off on all of them. 1 side: other side: close up: they all look the same as this just different color conductor wires. here is another shot of the Knu where the pants meets actual cable insulator Looking for shielded RCAs? dont buy those...

this is really wierd. umm after i hooked up my friends speakers. when it was at my house, there was no noise at all. but now my friend calls me when he gets home, and he hears this high pitch whistling noise comin from the speakers, but its only at low volumes. When he turns the volume high, the noise goes away and everything is fine. I'm guessing a ground problem, but there is no noise from the subs and why did it appear when my friend get home?

Well everytime I narrow my choices down I find about a new head unit. Right now I'm deciding between the Eclipse 5435 and the Pioneer Premier DEH-P860MP/DEH-P8MP and Clarion DXZ755MC/DXZ855MP. In terms of SQ, features, eqs, etc, what is my best option? I would like the lighting on the unit to be all blue as well...that matters to me. Color screens of course are an exception.

I need 5 ANL fuse holders that supports 1/0 wire. The cheaper the better, any ideas?

Okay so im hooking up my new system and i dont know what to get for my fuses or my distribution block. Im going to run 3 amps connected to a powermaster D1200 battery. An alpine 650 mono, 2 channel Rockford punch 550x2, and a Sundown SAE 1200D. What distribution blocks would work? Fuses? Gauge sizes? How would i hook up the battery to the amps and other battery? Anyway, any help will help. Thanks everybody.

ive recently upgraded my subs and now i cant hear anything when im full tilt. im going to delete the rear speakers and i was looking for a decent 2 ch amp for my front speakers. im curious to see if you guys have any suggestions for a budget amp that can do ~50-100 rms each @ 2 ohm. i had a few questions also. if the amp had lets say 1% THD would that be noticeable? also how important is the signal to noise ratio? would 80db be really bad? (these are extreme examples) another thing, if the amp is cea compliant does that mean their THD and signal to noise numbers must be true, or is it only hold true to rms ratings? thanks!

My pioneer 6100BT has a feature called ASR (advanced sound retriever) and i am assumeing all the newer pionner HU will have this feature also will tell you what ASR actully means and does.When i turn on the ASR feature on my HU, it makes the sound/bass in my car louder but more clear like it is supposed to do. so my question to you guys is, Would ASR act like loud/loudness feature on HU? witch you are supposed to have set to off

just got my amp. in the box it came with a paper that says "Total Maximum Power Output: 930 watts." can anyone explain what exactly this means? like is it at 2 ohms at a certain voltage or is it the 2 ohm and 4 ohm ratings total added? or what? thanks!

What is the best way to set your crossover setting on your amp and headunit? Can you leave your amp a little higher, then adjust from your hu when needed or should they both be set on the same HZ? What would be the best frequency for 2 DD350012e in a trunk setup? Currently I am set at 80 hz on my radio and about 90 hz on the amp. Bass boost is at 0, do you recommend using the bass boost or does this do more harm than help to your subs?

Hey guys, had a few questions. I was looking through all of the topics, and it seems that most people either go with Knukonceptz, WeldingSupply, or Kicker. I was wondering if there were any benefits one has over the other (other than price, obviously). About how many feet of wire is usually necessary for an SUV setup? This number should include wiring from front to back as well as the big 3. I was thinking right around 30 with some room to spare. I could be way off though, that's why I'm asking. Hey guys, I have an 03 BUICK CENTURY v6. I recently put in a 12 in SSA GCON . Built a custom box 2.25 net @33 hz slot ported. Ran all ofc knuconcepts 4 gauge. Monster rca's . Active loc and factory head unit. Amp is a Rockford prime 750.1 running at 1ohm into the GCON... Now u know what I got, well last nite I got her all hooked up, went to test her out, and every time my bass hits my headlights blink with the bass! I hate cars with systems that do that... Can anyone tell me why?? I was told I would be fine running factory elec with 750 watts? Even less actually because I barely had the gain up cuz my GCON is brand new! Even at low-moderate volume it is doing it..…

Ok i shoulda took pics, but hey.. So i have it hooked up @.5 ohms and well yea this system is alot louder than my PA3000db. but i have a slight problem, i'm guessing its an electrical issue, but... I can only turn the system up so far before a big bass note hits and its like the amp goes into protect and then comes right back on, say 2 secs later. SO is it wiring or electric? I'm going to hook the battery charger up to my car to check but any ideas? IT wangs dont get me wrong, but i just cant turn it up louder than a certain point..

I need any assistance finding a manufacturer to make a dual alt bracket for my 2011 4runner SR5 4.0L V6 engine. I am in the process of purchasing components for an audio upgrade and would like ti run the truck off the original alt and the sound system off the beefed up(350 amp+) second alt.
