I have been wanting to put a mac mini in my car for a while now but still have a few questions. First off, would I need a head unit or could I somehow just use a amp and a sound processor? If so how would this be done? Second what are some good 10" touch screen monitors that will work well with a mac mini?

a friend of mine is looking at getting a new system in his grand prix. so im gonna to hook him up with a dcon 12 but i need an amp that will run it safely. maybe a 500w @ 1 ohm. or a 1000w wired down or something along thoes lines. let me know what for amps i should look at but his price range would probably be around 300-350 for everything.

I am thinking about purchasing a Rockford fosgate 3sixty.3 but I am wondering if it works with apole laptop. this might be a dumb question but I just want to make sure. I would like to program it through Bluetooth with my laptop.

I recently installed a Pioneer AVH-3200BT in my new car. I've been having alternator whine issues, and I've been trying to figure it out. I thought it may be the pico fuse at first but the head unit still has connectivity between the chassis and rca shield. I tried a ground loop isolator and it made it worse. I ran a new ground direct from the head unit and the whine went away, but a static remained. At first it was bearable, but it's gotten louder for whatever reason. At one point today when I was troubleshooting it today, I removed the ground wire and the head unit stayed on! Confused, I tried to figure out how it was grounding, and it turns out it is grounding through …

Hey everyone, just a simple and quick question. Is there any real difference in the two types of fuses other than the fact ANL typically has a higher current rating on it? I was wanting to use a 120A AGU fuse for my setup since the max draw of my amp is 120A, but I just wanted to know if there is any real difference between the two. Thanks!

I'm thinking about doing a double din conversion on my 02 Silverado and was looking at the new soundstream/ power acoustik ingenix series double din. Do yall think that it would be a decent head unit without spending too much? Or would it be worth doing the conversion for?

I was thinking about my wiring set up today. In my new vehicle I have yet to do the Big 3, but I do have a dedicated 1/0 ground wire that goes from my back battery to my front. Is it really necessary to do the big 3 if you have a dedicated ground? I can see the upgrade being useful if you are using a chassis ground because your return path would be limited to the chassis to battery, but if that is elimated is there still a benefit? As far as resistance for the power wire goes, lets say the wire from the alternator to the battery is 4 feet. The stock wiring is 8 awg, which in general has a resistance of 2.061 ohms/km. This means the resistance of the wire is 0.00251 ohms. …

Hi guys I've been looking around at some mids and highs. I'm thinking about trying to run 2 6.5s an 2 tweeters in each front door of a 03 ford explorer and maybe some coaxials in the rears. My question is what kind of amp should I run a 2 channel or a 4 channel? It's seems the 2 channels are usually quite a bit cheaper. What are advantages of running a 4 channel?

I'm planning on buying a new starting battery for my suv. I'm running sa15's on a hifonics brutus elite 1600. I plan on doing the big 3 in the process. I just need to know what would be a good battery to put up front. I would like to do the big 3 and a new battery up front and then put a second one in the back. My budget is around $200 give or take

Well, the price was just too good. I went along and got the Visonik and love how it looks. Old school red colour to it, and its pretty damn big. Looks like my next step will to be getting those Icons. Might take a few guts pictures when I get home after work today, wasnt enough time in the morning for it.

Hey I new with audio most of the time I have a mini truck which I never could fit a system into the cab but anyways i just bought a clarion amp made in 1996 and it has never been hooked up its a two channel apa2100 so what kind of subs could i run to get the best sound out of it is going in a 96 rodeo so i have room for about anything but anything would help thanks

Hello there! I have been looking for a new head unit for over a year now. Im picky tho. I want a good one (of course) double-din,am/fm, cd, usb all that stuff. Rear rca's and all, I want to be able to change the light colors. Ive spent a good bit of money matching all my interior lights and i dont want the head unit to be different. I also want a remote. Ive had good experiences with clarion in the past, but the guy at the local audio store says clarions quality has gone down a lot. Ive been looking at some jvc's, but im not sure there quality is any better now then it was a few years ago. Im trying to stay in the $200 range. Any suggestions? P.S. I dont care for flip out…

Hi, I will be doing 2 15" Icon build on a crescendo BC2000D etc in a Dakota crew cab and have two nice decks in my possession. a Kenwood KDC-bt945u and a Clarion VZ401 DVD deck. Ive done a lot of researching on pre-out voltage but have seen so many opinions to as if it really does make a huge difference or not. Basically the Kenwood has 4v preouts and the Clarion has 2v. I like both decks but would love to have the dvd screen but not at a major loss of output or sound quality. My question is, will I notice a difference or should I go with the Clarion? Thanks,

I may need to order some wire specifically for tight areas soon. If i do, has anyone actually used both of these before? I know Kolossus Flex is so flexible it feels like there is no wire in the jacket... But i do not know how flexible they have made the 4/0 in RE... My runs would need to do an "S" in about a 6" range.

Im running a crescendo 3500bc at .5ohm looking to make shure im getting the most power with the least resistance, trying to invest in dual 1/0gauge inputs but unsure which one's will fit. Working on buddys stereo today in his jeep. Already had 3amps hooked up and everything was working perfectly fine. Was installing a fourth amp for his bullet tweeters. After wiring everything up and splitting the remote wire again to run a strand to the tweeter amp and turned the car on and none of the amps powered up...... Anybody ever encounter this problem or has any advice of what the issue is. Fuses are all good double checked remote wiring at amps and hu. Just weird never had such a thing happened to me before with a simple amp instal nor have i ever needed 4amps either. Very much appreciate your input.

I have been into car audio for about 12 years, I rebuilt my first amp when I was 13, now I build amps,subwoofers,crossovers, pretty much anything I need. So the fan was not working off my Memphis 16pr1.5kd so I pulled it out and opened it up. Two lines lead from the fan area to a potentiometer. Then looking around some more I find three pins with a jumper across two. Next to that says subsonic on and off. I don't have any adjustment for a ssf on the outside, but could this be set to "on" then the potentiometer used to adjust the it? Or is this potentiometer linked to the fan somehow? I'll be checking to see if the fan works as I've pulled that out. If someone could link or send me a layout of this board that would be helpful, thanks! Hi i have a Trailblazer SS with Bose and Nave. I used to use the Pac Aoem gm-24 but i did not really like the output with it. I am interested in going with a different one. I know people probably are going to say just get a new HU but i would prefer to keep the stock one. I have been looking at MTX re-q 3 or 5 but i am open to anything you think would work the best. thanks

I'm getting ready to do another electrical upgrade and have been poking around a bit. Thought I'd try out Knukonceptz's gear this go around. I saw some of their lines use compression fittings and really like the design. I've never been that big of a fan of smashing a wire in with a screw but it does work. Any experience with these fittings? Often something that looks cool doesn't always play out well in the real world. I've used compression fittings adapting hardline to braided hose and sometimes it can be a pita. Would a 3 or 5 channel amp be effective for a front stage and a sub stage. or would it be best to have 2 seperate amps i saw i believe it was a arc audio 3 channel amp the other day with the perfect power amount for my current plan of comps up front and a single ssa dcon 12 in the rear. On a side note i had seen the fi ssd 12s and they look nice but there is quite a price difference and if im not mistaken they require quite a bit more power than the dcon am i mistaken ? I am pretty sure the dcon is my number one choice im just wondering how it measures up against the ssd what are the major differences?
