I have been frustrated trying to track down the background noise on my headunit. Here is what I have: Headunit - Pioneer 9400bh Amp 1 - Kenwood 150.2 Amp 2 - Kicker 500.1 #1 The pioneer when playing a 0 bit track has pink noise from usb and cd. Kenwood amp is powering my front stage and the pioneer is for the back. Fader front and rear both produce the noise with and without both rcas. #2 So I reattached the original headunit and there is no noise with the 0 bit track cd. It is hooked up to just the rear speakers. I have changed the grounds on both amps, changed the ground on the headunit, done the pico fuse fix (wire wrap). I am at my wits end, please tell me if buying…

So I finished installing my 2 12" GCONS/Kicker ZX1000.1/LC2i/DC-Creations Sealed Enclosure into my 2012 GLI and I have a couple of questions for some of you more experienced guys. My car had a factory subwoofer (fender audio system) so I tapped into the subwoofer speaker wires for the line-out signal. The low frequency bass sounds GREAT but the higher frequencies are weak, almost like they're dropping off. Since the factory subwoofer was hitting all these higher bass notes before I disconnected it, the factory head unit/amp MUST be sending the full range signal back to the input of the LC2i, no? I can't figure out why I'm not hitting the full range of bass. Current Set…

I have been thinking about making some quality Big 3 kits, and just want to kind of take the forum's temperature about the idea. Ordering will be easy, simply give me the three lengths you need from mounting hole to mounting hole(for me, this will = terminal hole to terminal hole). Here's a rundown of the parts/process. 1) Wire being used will be the new black Audio Technix 1/0 CCA wire. 2) Terminals will be tinned copper to resist corrosion. 3) All wire/terminal connections will be crimped via a hydraulic crimper for a connection that will never wiggle loose or back out. 4) All connections will be finished with some black heat shrink tubing for a clean look. Do you guy…

  9. I think while my truck is in rebuild mode I will go ahead and upgrade or change to a newer unit. I love the alpine but want to look at something different. Looking at the deh-80prs or the avh-P8400bh. Sq wise the 80 looks like the choice but im sure I would be happy with either. Any other good dd units out there? This is what I have now and will be letting go cheap to anyone interested http://www.crutchfield.com/S-lCerWQCN13n/p_500IVAW200/Alpine-IVA-W200.html#details-tab I want good control of eq and options for hpf and lpf. Any other opinions? I have a alpine 600 watt 4 channel that will cover the mids and highs unless I pick up an additional small 2 channel just for t…

Im looking to wire two audiopipe AP.1500's strapped at 4ohms to my f2f Fi bl12 so that each amp sees 2ohms untill I get my second sub. I can't find a diagram that explains it though. I understand how to bridge the rca's but I don't get how to wire the sub. Any help would be greatly apreciated. Thanks

Whats going on SSA. Need some advice on this wiring/electrical decision I need to make. I was running ~1000wrms on my old setup, I currently have a single run of 4 gauge Knu OFC (~20 feet) to the back where I have a distribution block. Now I upgraded amps and I will be running ~1400wrms (changed amps more because of space constraints, bigger box so less space for amps). Amplifiers have fuse ratings of 120 and 50 amps. Now Knu claims a maximum rating of 150 amps on their 4 gauge (even though they provide a 120 amp fuse for their kit), I was wondering if I should add another run of 4 gauge to the back so I would have separate runs for each amp. Or would a run of Knu 8 …

  19. I'm in the process of adding a pair of 12" GCONS to the stock Fender stereo system in my 2012 Volkswagen GLI. The subs will be in a sealed enclosure from DC Creations are going to be powered by a Kicker ZX1000.1 (1298w rms according to birth sheet) controlled through the LC2i. I have 2 questions about some adjustments I'm unsure of 1) When setting the gains using the DMM method to obtain the corresponding output voltage for the amp's rated capacity (1000W RMS) - I need the most clean power I can get from this amp. Should I be using 1298w as stated on the birth-sheet to come up with the voltage number I'm looking for? or should I be using 1000W as rated. 2) With the LC2…

Been off pursuing other hobbies and raising a little girl... My DNX8120 is dying a rapidly accelerating death. First the XM receiver takes an intermittant dump over the last year. Then the disc transport died last month. Then some low life stole my in-car iPod. Long and the short I need to replace the HU because I'm basically down to listening to the local radio station. In a small town in the middle of nowhere, that is absolute torture. Requirements: Double DIN Nav DVD XM capable (NOT Sirius so the new Kenwoods are out) Parking brake lockout is easily bypassed Good Bluetooth (the 8120 has been spotty both with the phone and with A2DP streaming audio) Sound processin…

  24. I have a Sundown Audio SAE-1200 amp running 2 SA15s. I'm having a problem getting sound out of my subwoofers. At first I had a Pioneer 4100 DVD when this first started happening. The Subs would cut in and out, then finally stayed off but the amp stayed on. So i had my local shop check the voltage and they said no power was going through my rca's. So I had a different cd player and installed it. After I installed it everything was working fine again. Then today the subs started going in and out. Right before the subs went off, it sounded like the subs were crackling but still had sound going through them. So i turned down the radio and they stopped working after i tried tu…
