Holy s**t! How much are you guys paying for alts? I called H.O. Alts & to replace my stock 130 amp with an oem repl 210 amp is $699.00. That doesn't incl tax, ship, etc! BTW this is the only one that won't require any mods or interfere with ecu so it's the cheapest route. Just got sticker shock & wanted to see if this was an average price. Called a couple local places but thier alts require a lot of other hassels with stock elec system.

Which amp would do better powering 2 12" Gcons? A ppi BK 1800, a hifonics Brutus 1700 or A hifonics Brutus bxi2010 D 2000 watt?

Eyh, Got a great deal on dual DD3515 2ohm dvc subs, so i'm planning on running them at 2 ohms, Been looking at the kicker 2500.1 amp but is there any more good altarnatives out there ? Thanks, Denven

Hey guys, just wondering how difficult it is to disable the illumination of the logo on these amps. I don't have one, otherwise It'd be open by now. Also, is it only the logo that lights up? I know the 08 series there's LED's as well around the border of the faceplate.

So on this next run I plan on running my amps not strapped. I know how to gain set with a DMM. Xovers I typically do by ear. My plan of attack is to DD-1 both amps, check output voltage of both amps and match to the one with less output. Now I'm not worried about setting the LPF on the amps since I can do that via the HU. My only area of concern is the SSF. I'm a little fuzzy on gain matching with the SSF. Do you play your selected tone of choice (lets use 30hz in this example) continue to turn the filter up until you see a dip in output voltage? Then repeat on the second amp. so i was on my way home from my local audio shop and boom. my amp stopped playing and started blowing smoke. i only had my stero on 25 out of 60.it was a mtx 1501d elite. so before i even got to my driveway, i turned around and went right back to the audio shop. befor i even opened the door, he started laughing because he knew what happened. haha he told me come back in 3 days with $75 and itll be as good as new. just thought id share my story with yall **R.I.P. mtx 1501d elite series**

I have been reading around on some build logs and people are saying that they have an amplifier that is "clamped". What does this mean? I have been googling around with no luck (so far).

I am wondering if a brutus 1600 watt is a good amp, i heard it is over rated. I am soon hoping to order eather a Fi BL or Q dual 2 ohm. I'm just wondering what some people know about it?

I currently have the IA 10.1 amp and a 15 inch Death Penalty with dual two ohm coils. I was worried about my electrical so I ordered a 1200w amp to be safe. My stock electrical holds at 15.2v at full tilt. It spikes down to 14.9 but quickly recovers due to the smart alternator, which is rated at 150 amps. The subwoofer definitely can handle more power. So my options would be to buy another 10.1 and strap them at 1 ohm or sell the 10.1 and buy a larger amp, DC audio 2K, or buy two other amps and strap them at 1 which would look good. Don't want to spend too much but I know another 10.1 is 400.

Ok so i have a brz2400 that is rated to do 2400rms at 1 ohm. my question is about the fusing of the amp, it has no internal fuses, jus the one under the hood for the power wire. so with that said, would it be required to externally fuse the amp? and how would i go about doing this? what would be the correct size fuses? how many? where to put them? etc........ also what would be a good fuse to put under the hood for the amp power cable? there is a 150 in the holder right now and it is zero gauge cable, is that good enough? if not, what would be a recommended size for that with my amp? i am building my system for 2 12 xcons in my tc and i want to do it right the first ti…

I noticed this when I did my first Install and I didn't think much of it at the time because I was assuming my Alternator had a major roll to play with this. I received and installed my 270 HO alternator from DC. I am still getting really bad voltage drop at idle. Well i am driving it's fine i stay at 14.4-14.6... Once i hit a red light it drops down 12.2-12.4ish. If the heat or AC is on at idle i wanna cry The only thing i have running in my car at the moment is my sundown 100.4 and i have 2x XS d3100 installed. 1 in the hood and 1 in the back. I did some research and I read on trailvoy.com that the car PC tells the alternator to shut off at idle....called a dealership…

which would you guys pick? both would be @ 1 ohm, and i just got a kinetik hc2400 as well (for the mini) the amp is for my 12" mt only thing is ive heard the failure rate on the PB is alot higher than the 2500d. my friend has an xa3000, and its broken 2 or 3 times already, even after PB fixes it. it does good power, just i dont want it breaking down on me... i got it MINT for about 200 bux... 400 for the battery and the amp, both are like new, ill post pics later

I have a problem with my Pioneer aftermarket radio turning off then back on for no reason. I first thought it may have been loose wiring and hitting bumps in the road was causing it until it started happen while sitting still. I had it sent to service center and they couldn't duplicate it. Then had it sent directly to Pioneer and they supposed replaced motherboard. That didn't help. So sent it back and they ended up replacing the unit. Same thing happened again with new unit. I checked all the wiring and everything was tight. Even replaced some butt splices. When I mean turn off then back on, I'm referring to the unit turning back on to my station. I just installed a 10" xcon that can either be wired at .5 or 2 ohms. It is currently running on a jl audio jx 1000.1 so 1000w at 2 ohms but I really want to get a 2000w 2ohm amp. Having trouble finding a reliable amp that puts that power out at 2 ohms without breaking the bank!! Not sure if my electrical could handle .5 or id give that a shot.. I drive a mazda tribute stock 110 amp alt and stock battery... Don't really think I can do over 1000 @ 0.5ohm

I am currently on my third high output alternator in this car. Both my yellow top under the hood and xp3000 in the trunk have been tested for bad cells etc. they are each fine. There is no indication of belt slip occurring whatsoever not even silent. Big three upgrade is in place. The alt charges perfectly fine for a week or so then just stops putting out amperage as if its a regulator gone bad or rectifier bridge that's somehow over worked itself. Besides mounting it there is a run of positive to the battery from the charging stud and a one-wire charge lead that I splice into a 12v connection for the regulator to operate off of so I don't understand where the issue is co…

Alright most likely this amp will be powering 2 12" SS RL-P's in a box between 1.75-2^3ft with 20-24^2in of port per sub...tuned to 34hz... Here are the amp choices..price range is under 360.... 1.)Orion 2500D(refurbished from Ikesound kinda worried about that) will be used @ 2 ohms 2.)MA Audio HK-1398 which is 600x2 @ 1ohm stereo, and 1600x1@ 2ohm mono... 3.)Hifonics BX1605D which is 1600@1ohm. All opinions are welcome, please give em to me...Also you guys all seem real knowledgeable so any other Options or Ideas for amps that you might have are more than welcome!!!! THANKS EVERYONE.....

Looking for a cheap amp for a friends car, he'll be buying my SA12s. Needs 1200 at two ohms. Are the Hifonics BRZ amps good? I found one for 200$ new.

I just spun myself out on this, I feel like I know the answer but fuck it If i'm running an amp that draws 400a rms, and I have a 200a alt, a g31 under the hood 4/0 to the rear bank, and 6 g31's in the rear, I fuse appropriate for the wire always, not the peak rating of my alternator yes? something like, 300a for 4/0 iirc. If I already plug up the bank and charge it fairly often (once a week), no real concern for such a small alt supporting that bank, correct?

i have an 03 mazda protege dx...it's i tiny four door car similar to a civic in size....the alt is a stock 80 amp the problem is they do not make a HO alt for this car...i have one yellow top under the hood and i guess it's getting old now considering the voltage is getting lower when i am hittin hard.. i do have s 2.5 farad cap and i know it doesn't cure the problem! but i'm afraid of adding another battery in the trunk because wouldn't that make it harder on the altenator to charge 2 batteries?? Amp is a titanium 2400 Subs 2 15" fi Q's voltage drops to like 11.8 to 11.3 the lowest! any way of working around this? or do i need to add another batterie?

WHy is this? are these amps way under power, and if so about how many rms watts is it;.
