Hey guys, I'm currently running the 80prs, but I want to upgrade. I still can't get over how Pioneer could build such an excellent functioning HU, with such a shitty display! Which double din fully active HU would you recommend? I really don't know where to begin. I definitely want my SiriusXM back, and GPS would be nice. I would like to keep this under $800, if possible Thanks in advance! Jason

I am looking for an amp to power my new front stage. Have come across a crescendo 1000c4 and a 125.4. The sundown is a bit more but I can splurge if it is worth it. I have never heard these brands in person but have not heard a bad thing about either one. My goal is sq. It will be powering an active front stage, 8 ohm hds tweeters, and 8 ohm 7" woofers in the stock door locations. Will I notice a difference in sq between these 2? How about overall quality? Is the sundown really worth almost twice the money? Or will I be just as well off going with my original plan and get a new ppi 900.4? Any advice opinions or comments are greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, I have a JL Audio 500/1 that is blown. the green power light will come on, thats it; no safety light or anything. when it powers up the green light will come on but there is no output. Ive taken the boards out and looked them over. i have not noticed any visual problems but i could have missed something. does anyone know anything about these amps or how i can trouble shoot the problem! i live in Indianapolis, Indiana; if anyone lives close you can take a look. Thanks in advance. Eddie Gossett

Ok, so I'll try to keep this explanation short but informative. I have a JL 450/4 and Rockford Fosgate T20001BD. I have a NTB batter in the front...just regular battery. Going from that battery is two 4 gauge power wires. Those go into an isolator. From there the wries each have a 100amp fuse and run to the back of the car to a Optima Yellow Top. The Yellow Top is grounded 1ft. from itself to the car chassis. I have a remote wire going from the Head Unit to the back of the car. That runs into the JL amp and splits there and goes to the Fosgate. Ok so that's the setup, now heres the problem. Ever since I got this new Fosgate amp (previously had a JL 500/1 instead) …

Just thought I'd make a little thread for my new arrival! By the way, does anyone know when these guys were produced? There she is! Picked her up for around $57.00 including shipping off ebay. The seller claimed that it was in working shape and claimed that he/she had tested it before shipping out. After opening it up i'm a little skeptical, but then again I dont know a whole lot about boards. it just doesn't look as the brand new boards that im familiar with (go figure right?). Hopefully i can test it this weekend, but time is tight in my schedule. I plan on using it to power my alpine type r's i got from Swagger_Wagon! Time for more pics! Some are displaying some spots…

I'm going to be running two amps here soon, one per sub. My question: Instead of having to run one bass knob to each amp/sub, could I somehow use just one for both? They are the Audiopipe APSM1500 amps. The knobs have the 3.5mm cable from the knob to the amp. They are like a headphone jack from what I can tell. Could I just use a headphone splitter from one knob and run the two separate wires from the splitter to the two amps?

I have two FI Q 15 inch subs that are each a dual 1 ohm coil. I had them running on two Rockford T10001bd amps and then switched to a Sundown Audio SAZ-3500D amp. It seems now that for some reason I may have lost some sound quality when going from the rockford amp to the sundown amp. It just seems like the subs may not be hitting all notes or sounding as good as before which is when I ran them on rockford amps. Does anyone know if this is possible or even who makes a better amp whether if its Rockford or Sundown Audio? These subs are fully loaded with each being in its own 2.5 cubit foot sealed box. I guess I am just looking for the best amp here which could match th…

Hey guys i have a question. i searched around (and having fun learning) in the amp section and only found one person having the same issue as me but the problem was not resolved. so i will try to give as much info as i can so there will be no confusion. First off, i am very mechanically/electrically inclined but for some reason this problem has me stumped which usually calls for faulty equipment. second, this thread here is the problem i am having. it is on another forum but it is exactly what mine is doing. http://www.*****.com/board/topic/61561-amp-problem/page__hl__m1000%20hot so first off, my electrical. Big 3 soldered with 4 gauge Deka intimidator battery 9A78DT und…

Well my car (2004 Scion xB) is finally getting paid off next week so it's time to prepare for the upgrades. I just ordered my 12" Ethos and am planning on most likely a SQ2200D to power it. To begin with the front stage will be run off a Hifonics X14 X1200.4. The X14 is supposedly rated at 150x4 @4 and 300x4 @2. So total wattage should be around 3k RMS. I'm getting a 220 amp ho alt from Js Ultimate alts. I know I'm going to need a battery upgrade. Will I need an extra battery for the rear? My guess is yes, so I need to know what size and what to do as far as fusing/isolating/regulating the batteries and amps. I have some 1/0 cable for big 3 upgrade and will probably nee…

so I knew it was happening, and was in process of saving up for a custom valeo Ohio Generator alternator. current alty decided to crap on my today, so I need to order a new one this weekend. I don't have the 450 to dish out for the Ohio right now, and saw what seems to be a reputable company selling a 200 amp for 210 plus shipping on ebay. BNR alternators and starters? I would rather spend the money on a 160 amp higher quality alty than a 200 amp piece of junk. My experience in past with alternators is iraggi, ohio, green monster, and that's about it. Any input would be greatly appreciated thanks! right now battery bank consists of a single hc1400 and hc2000, and p…

If you do not know what these are, i'll explain it then go into great detail about the design application and see if it's what you want... Fluxcaps are not fake, this isn't a movie joke, it is an actual device name given to a special capacitor that does many things- It is a Battery isolator, Voltage Booster!, and capacitor all in one. Standard versions put out a constant 14.7v(some restrictions may apply...) but this topic isn't for 14.7v... this topic is for 18v electrical system. This device can be used on a stock or aftermarket 12v electrical system to bump up the voltage all the way to be able to charge or run an 18v electrical system to get the most power out of your…

Just received my 4/0 cable from unknown source (Nope, not Welding supply). Anyways, did some measurements on dimensions and weight and thought some will find this information interesting. Used analog caliper and let it measure all following specs stress-free (i wasn't holding it) Knukonceptz Kolossus- OD jacket- 0.57" (rated on website as 0.63") Wire thickness- 0.47" (rated on website as 0.472") Copper only wire. MAX LOAD rated on website- 375A @20ft (does not correspond to safe continuous use via NEC Standard which is to not allow voltage drop greater than 0.5v) Knukonceptz CCA- OD jacket- 0.60" (rated on website as 0.63") Wire thickness- 0.5" (rated on website as 0.47…

As the title states, I've got one of these HU's coming. It's BNIB, never used, never opened. It wasn't really a planned purchase, the seller posted it up on EBAY and when I threw in my max bid it was at $32. After a few other bids went on it It came to $104.50 and that's what I won it at! Pretty damn decent deal IMHO. That brings me to the point of my thread. Anyone have any experience with the EQ settings on this unit? It has a plethora of crossover, DTA, and EQ settings, but it's only a 5 band parametric EQ. The question I'm trying to answer is, what frequencies can you select for each of the bands? The book only says 20hz - 20khz. Most list the frequencies suc…
