Hi, i'm in the market for a HO alt for my Hyundai Excel Australian spec, which has proved difficult, to say the least. I was opting for around 220-250A, running to a stock calcium battery, which doesn't do too bad actually, and 2 Stinger SPV70's, which'll be used to push a saz-3500D, (unsure of the sub/s atm) and a sax 100.4 (hopefully), for a daily driver, @ 1 ohm (the 3500D ), with the possibility of taking it to some comps. I'm pretty sure my stock 70 amp alternator wont keep pace with those loads. My wanderings through this sub-forum led me to two brands in particular, after investigating most of them. These two were DC Power and Mechman. At this point you may be aski…

Im getting a second battery soon for my truck and i was wondering how to install it. I know you wire positive to positive ans neg to neg but after i wire the batteries together do i run a wire from the second batteries neg to the ground spot on the amp? And i just wire the 2nd batts positive to the power on the amp right? I also plan on grounding the alt case, and both battery negs to the frame. Good idea?

Im debating whether I should buy a Leviathan or a 100.4 I currently have Bravox CS60CF, and will have 8" midbass in the door in the future. At first I was going to use a 100.4 for the mids/highs (Bravox CS60CF) and the 125.2 for the midbass. But then I found out about the leviathan which does 150rms and has 6 channels. I could use 4 of them for the Bravox, and the other 2 channels share them for the 2 midbass drivers (but then it would be 75rms per midbass driver). Disadvantages are single vs double amps (space) and extra power/ground runs of wire. And using only 2 channels for the Bravox wouldnt work because that would mean back to passive I cant seem to find advantages …

Hello, I heard that Mazda 3s computer systems cannot handle new HO alt's, so that being said I wanted to just fabricate a new bracket for a secondary alt instead, but there is no possible room to put another alt. so I was thinking of just getting more batteries instead, is that a good choice? or should I investigate and try to get a new alt anyway. Right now I'm currently running 1800 rms with stock alt big 3 all 1/0 100% OFC and XS power XP750 and getting pretty bad voltage drop, I'm going as low as the upper 11s . and my amp gets a little hot (i think that's why). I plan to upgrade to 3500 rms, so that's why i want a new alt. HELP! thanks!

I just bought a 2011 Mazda 3 and I am getting a HU but I need help on which one would be the best bang for my buck. Now I'm not looking for something cheap quality, but something hopefully below $250 if it's a single din and if it's a double, then below $400 if possible. What my main concerns in a HU are is that it has an AUX in, 4V or higher, subwoofer, preferably lots of options to customize my speakers sounds, such as EQ, Bass, Treble, and all that jazz. If I do get a double din, it should fit in this, shouldn't it? http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com/2010-mazda-3-4dr-sdn-auto-i-touring-photos.htm?photo=1745325&perspective=interior Features which I would re…

  11. Hey everyone, I got a sundown x18 powered by a hifonics zeus 1800 and crescendo components to the doors on 600w hifonics zeus. I was running this setup for a couple weeks with stock battery, stock 75a alternator, and no big 3 with no problems at all. With the stock setup, my volts were around 14.2v at idle and when I turn my system up it usually drops from around 13.1-11v and the stock alternator kept up pretty well. I decided to get a new Kinetik 1800w battery, a 175a alternator, and I did the big 3. When I did all of this, my system got worse. My volts were running at around 13.4-13.7 and when I did something as little as rolling up my windows, it drained he volts all…

  12. Edit: I am all over with this post so bear with me.. "That amp you have is junk. You need something better" So this is always the reply I seem to get when someone ask's what I have in the car. I'm 40 years old and have been out of the scene for a while. I put a simple setup on my 2014 Focus ST which consisted of stock headunit and Sony gs 6 1/2 components front and rear, Stock 160 amp alt and 0 ga welding wire to the back. Stock battery and no big 3. After that I used a well worn 12" kicker cvr d2 and a New Hifonics Brutus brx1200.1d I have ran that since Nov of last year and it's been great for my daily routine. I have decided to go to a 15" and ordered a …

NooB's, DO NOT COMPREHEND THIS POST. Under 1 ohm coverage is void from Z series Sundown amps so no warranty is implied in this post! Ok, my question I understand that the warranty is void by doing this but throwing that out the window, i know it's still possible so what i want to know is, when is the amp not safe? Let's say i got 2 SAZ-1500ds strapped and ran a load at 0.93 ohms. Warranted coverage is no lower than 2 ohms strapped. I've talked to a manufacturer before and he said about all his amp returns are due to people not knowing what they are doing when they run too low of a load. What i want to know is, what makes it "ok" to run below that load? I keep seeing …

I have a mechman 240a alternator with a xs power d5100 upfront everything wired up and running smooth. Now when installing my rear battery (another d5100) should I run both power and ground wires to the back battery or just the charge wire and ground in the trunk? Thank you in advance.

  19. I bought an autotek mm 2500.1 quite awhile ago, and have been running it at 2 ohms, and it's been great. Onlinecarstereo.com claims it's stable at 1 ohm, putting out 2500 rms. It's a $150 amp... I'm hella skeptical, because of that, so I came here to see if anyone has an experience with the Mean Machine's running down to that load.

Looking for advice tuning my new deck. I have a Pioneer DEH 80prs, a Soundqubed 1200d running at 1 ohm with 2 12" alpine type x subs. I have my low pass filter set at 80hz on my deck but I don't know where to set my low pass filter at on my amp? I was told to just turn it up out of the frequency range of my subs but idk if that's right. Bass boost is at 0 and the subsonic filter at 10hz. Gain is at nominal power. I have my subwoofer level on my deck set to 0db. The crossover slope it at 18db. Automatic sound levelizer at high and source level adjuster at 0. Graphic equilizer is flat.

Im looking for suggestions on powering a single Morel Ultimo 10" 4 ohm subwoofer, preferably 2 channel that will give me sufficient power at 4 ohms bridged. that seems to me like the most cost efficient and effective way to go. My budget would be in the 300 to 600 dollar range. so far i have been looking at the ARC ks 300.2 Any suggestions will be helpful.

I know currently have no information on this amp but will be researching. Looking for opinions of these. I have not been able to hear one either. It will be for my two Zcon 12's.
