Im going to be strapping my 2 audiopipe apsm1300, essentially the master amp will control both amps. The amps strapped together are suppose to do ~2000watts @ 2 ohms. Is it possible to hook them up strapped and do DMM tuning by putting the probes on each amps terminal? The master amp is the + and the slave amp is the - ... does this work? ~63volt for the DMM meter... sqrt(2000 * 2ohm)

Hey guys, I just bought my 2 Dcon 12s and I'm looking for a decent amp for my mids and highs. It'd be nice if it were right around $100. I was looking at this one right here, http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=269-190 If there's a cheaper amp that still would do what I need then please share. Thanks guys!

I was driving my car today and realized I had know sound. I glanced down at my ashtray to find the power light for my saz's bass knob off as well. This would mean both amps have no power. Without the ability to really investigate, I found both power and grounds connected still and my single run of 1/0 positive connected starting battery to optima in the rear connected and not damaged. The ground for that battery seamed fine as well. When I popped the hood, I noticed a lot of crusty corrosion on the starting battery. The car starts fine and the head unit comes up and functions fine, just no sound. I didn't get a chance to check to check fuses, but it seems strange for fuse…

I have 2 audiopipe APSM1300s, i was running them strapped together on a 10" SSA XCON D1 (wires to 2 ohms). So i am not sure if one of the amps dying had anything to do with strapping them, or if the moisture in the boat finally took out the amp. Basically, the amps ran fine for a couple days strapped, and then yesterday when the "Master" amp's power and protection light started flickering very fast, and the sub began making a popping sound, even with RCAs pulled out. I unplugged the remote wire, and hooked the sub up to the "Slave" amp and everything works fine. I took the "Master" amp and put it in my truck and it did the same thing. Looking at the wiring diagrams incl…

Hey guys, I have narrowed it down to two choices. I was originally going to just buy any random HU until next spring when I start my serious build. But with news of x3 for holiday pay which is the entire last week of December working 12 hour shifts, that build may begin sooner. So this HU will be the HU in my vehicle for the next 5 years or so, I'm planning long term here. So the two choices are: A) Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD B) Pioneer deh p960mp I have been looking in this segment for quite some time, not too too in depth, but just looking around. I can get the DEH for 200, or I can get the AVH for about 320. Here are some key features that both offer that is really attracti…

  11. yeah, so today after work, i installed all my 0 gauge wiring from that 5 gauge that was in there before. i also went from the little 60 amp fuse under the hood to a 250 amp fuse. now before the switch, everything sounded good. nice stead, clean bass. but ever since i put in the 0 gauge wire, it gets louder, then softer and loud again and doesnt sound very clean. i messed with the setting on the amp to see if anything had changed and still got the same results. any ideas on what this could be? i also installed new RCA's if that matters.

I'm now looking to upgrade to 1/0 wire in my truck. I've been told to use reducers to get the wire down to 4 gauge in my amp. Why should I use these on pure ofc wire when Idk what the reducer is made of? Why not just trim the wire down the fit snuggly in the 4 gauge inputs?? Since one reduced on knukonceptz is like 4 bucks. Pretty steal for somethin I don't see totally necessary. Is it possible the reducer would hinder power flow as opposed to just trimming?? Oppinions on recuders?

Ok so i have a brz2400 that is rated to do 2400rms at 1 ohm. my question is about the fusing of the amp, it has no internal fuses, jus the one under the hood for the power wire. so with that said, would it be required to externally fuse the amp? and how would i go about doing this? what would be the correct size fuses? how many? where to put them? etc........ also what would be a good fuse to put under the hood for the amp power cable? there is a 150 in the holder right now and it is zero gauge cable, is that good enough? if not, what would be a recommended size for that with my amp? i am building my system for 2 12 xcons in my tc and i want to do it right the first ti…

I recently caught a GREAT deal on one of these.. only problem is that the CD player isn't functional. That isn't an issue at all considering it's got USB & iPod inputs. However, I tried plugging a thumb drive into the USB input & it won't read it. It shows iPod when I connect it but you need the iPod integration cable to use it, so I know nothing is wrong w/the USB input. Does my flash drive need to me formatted a certain way? Do I need a certain thumb drive? Why isn't the one I've currently got working? This is the drive I'm using: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sandisk-4GB-Cruzer-USB-Flash-Drive-Aqua/16648010

I am working on a new system for my 350Z and was considering running active. I've never ran active before and have been reading around and have a decent idea of what to do, but I am stuck at what to use for processing. I have a double din sat nav puoneer hu and it doesn't have the ability to run acrive and I've noticed the MiniDSP and it's right in my price range. I've decided with the Mach 5 MLI 65's, I still need to measure for the tweeters, and for the amp I'm going to get the JL 300/4. Does this setup seem fine to run with the MiniDSP? Is it pretty complicated to set the MiniDSP through the computer? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

My friend just got a Sundown 3,000 for his truck. I brought up the idea of maybe trading my DD M3a for his SAZ3,000. He's doesn't care either way. What would you do and why? Side notes: For now I will have one amp on 2 ZCON 18"s at .5 ohm. Then get a second of either and have each at 1 ohm daily, and .25 for shows and such.

What should my sub frequency be set at on the deck (it goes up to like 120hz I think)? 2. What should my HPF be set at on the deck? 3. Any tips on tuning the Custom Equalizer settings? if you have 2 mono amps and you strap them are u getting double the power to that one channel on the master amp? Does it effect ur ohm load to the master amp from ur subs? like if you wire ur subs together to get 1 ohm would you still get 1 ohm power from the master even if it was strapped? thanks

I currently have a passive front component set of Focal's on a Linear Power 1502 with TIPS mods. I'm looking at going active and louder up front. I currently have a BTL N2 15 and another on the way. I can start to drown out the fronts now so adding another sub will definitely drown them out. I have not set my mind up on what tweeters and mids to use. I have door pods already for 6.5 mids and tweeters. I have a small SUV...Mercury Mariner so adding more front speakers is not an option. This is a daily driver and I will rewire the fronts with larger wire when I redo and go active. I'm looking into the Zed amp 100x4 and wondering if anyone has any experience with it. …

hey guys... I have 2 1000.4 's going to my front doors . they have been sounding great, nice and clear and no distortion. I have been having some ground problems lately and had to drill a new ground. After that they were back to sounding clear and crisp. Now about a week later all the static and distortion came back to the point were I almost cnt even hear the music. I checked the ground and the ground is good. i checked the rca'a and there fine. ( I do have a few splits on my rca's and those were fine as well). I was told by someone who works at a car place that it could be the deck because it only gives out so much amp or power roughly 2 volts or 2.5 and he was saying t…
