I was wondering if anybody used these X2 Power Batteries, supposedly they are rebranded North Stars made for Batteries Plus. Looking at electrical upgrades and an underhood battery is my first step, I can grab these batteries locally plus they come with a great warranty. Looking for any input, thanks fellas.

So i checked today my battery voltage in the manual, its said it was 12.8v fully charged, this weekend into the week i am going to try and get a voltmeter, today i went to walmart, no luck. So the amps ive came down to for powering my 15" Fi BTL are: SunDown:SAZ-1000D which is $315, or maybe something with more if i can find one Audioque: 1200D or 2200D I dont want to buy or invest in an amp that is over $600 so if theres a better option please tell me. on a different note, what would an equalizer do for me,im trying to look into how to turn on and off the sub would a basic bass knob be the best? Also what are some good cheap alternators? links would be nice, i am pretty…

  3. I can't for the life of me figure this one out. The power and grounds are both good according to my DMM. The remote wire is getting power (0.1-0.2v) The remote wire is hooked to the blue and white wire. I've tried 2 amps, 2 fuses, and 2 capacitors. DEX-6900BT Pioneer radio Hifonics ZRX3216.1D Zeus and also tried Skar Audio RP-2000.1D (thought the amp was bad). All the other speakers and such work, so totally at a loss.

Im getting 2 amp kits from knukonceptz. They are both 0 gauge. One is for my amp wiring and one is for my big 3. One of my questions is when my battery grounds it grouds to the frame and the block. Do i need to replace both? And where should i look for my block ground. Btw i drive a 2004 Isuzu Rodeo 3.5 liter. I run a kicker kx1200.1 and its pushing a kicker L7 15 D2. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I just got a sundown 3000d and it since it can run from 10 volts to 18 volts, ive got to thinking of a 16 volt battery setup for the future. But how would i do that and keep the rest of the car that needs to be 12 volts stay at 12 volts?

Last week my CDA-9886 started doing this thing where, from what I've noticed, at high volumes it will just restart in the middle of a song and keep restarting unless I turn it down. Running 1 Treo SSX 12 powered by an RD 1750.1D at .5 ohms for 2500 watts. Got a nice wal mart bat up front with 800 cca and a shuriken bt100 in the back, big 3 and all 0 gauge of course. Talked to the guy who's sold me RD stuff before and he said if it were the amp it wouldn't making the HU restart like that...which I pretty much knew. From what I gathered it's either a loose wire or worse, the HU isn't getting enough amps because of a shitty power cord to it... just wanted to get some opinion…

I thought this might make a worth while thread for anyone getting ready to buy wire/cable and wants to shop around. This isn't meant to do any bashing, it's just to let people know what they can expect when ordering some wire. If you care to add to the comparison, please have at least two varieties compared(don't just post a pic of some wire). List the Manufacturer, Size, and location of purchase. From left to right... 1. In an Alero, what kind of alt will I need to run a 4000W amp @ 1ohm with 4-600W for components? How many runs of 1.0 wouldn't be overkill? Will one battery stayed charged and properly power 4500ish watts? Big 3 of course. Thanks.

  11. Hello all! In today's day and age many vehicles have controls on the steering wheel for controlling functions and features of your factory sound system. Many are discouraged from moving to an aftermarket head unit for the sole reason that they would then lose these controls. Well fear no more! This video will show you my experience with the Axxess ASWC - Steering Wheel Control Interface. I found this interface to be extremely easy to use, easy to install, and easy to program. Following the steps outlined within the vehicle will have you well on your way to controlling an aftermarket head unit with your factory steering wheel controls. I hope you enjoy!

I'm torn between the following choices in amplifiers... JL 300/2 Audison LRx 2.250 ARC Audio 2100CXL Linear Power 2.2hv PPI ART A600 I have been told that my Koda's will take full range..but that's just not floating my boat at this moment..probably cross them at 60ish..so Out with the LP and PPI... Someone either suggest something new..or help me make up my mind. The only difference with the other 3 is price. With my budget...the ARC and JL will have to be used, while I have a chance to get the Audison at a great price. Last real difference between the 3 is crossover ability...the JL has 12/24db selectable, while the Audison and ARC have only 12db. I guess the real ques…

Hi guys, I have recently been saved by a cheap voltmeter plugged into the cig-lighter 12v input. It showed me I was loosing voltage badly. I found something was burning under the hood. The plastic on the wire coming from the positive post on the battery to the alt was bad, and the cooper was touching a metal part. I took it off, and now everything is ok. The alternator works as usual. But now I want a better voltmeter. This one is 8 years old ! I want something small enough to fit anywhere. I won't cut anything in the dash to have it mounted, so I liked the cig lighter plug a lot. Which model do you run ? And second question : if it's…

Gonna buy a single 10" or 12" X or Icon, which ever pops up in the classifieds first. Will be in a .8-9 cuft fiberglass box sealed, polyfilled 1-2lb iirc. This is an under seat setup for a 4 door dodge pickup. I've seen the black ice has been proving a decent amp for the money. Just want to get any last opinions or reasons to not get it and go with something else. I don't want to spend more than $200-250 on an amp at the moment. Thanks!

so when i put my latest head unit into my car, i left a cd in my old unit, and i have been trying to get it out. i have a power supply that i plan to hook up to it, but i can't figure out where to hook my wires up to, so i need a diagram to find out where to hook my positive and negative leads....any one know where i can get a diagram? the unit is a Clarion ProAudio DRX6375. i googled and eBay'd and all i found was a picture of the diagram but the seller on eBay made it microscopic because he only wanted buyers looking at it.

Well, I'm going to be running a AQ2200D (as some of you may know) to power a IA DP 21". Now I'm having some worries about my electrical system. These are my plans: STOCK ALT. It's a 150A Bosch alt. (Possibly 130A, but I'm pretty sure 150.) either 1/0 or 2/0 wiring all the way around. Positive & negative run to the front. (I know bigger is better, but do I need 2/0?) (1) Deka 9A31 in the rear. (Would go PM, but that's out of my budget. Plus, I can't justify spending that much on a single battery when I can get two Dekas for the same price, even though the PMs are better.) That's my starting plans. If this does not work out, I'm going to throw another Deka 9A31 …

  19. Was looking for something today, and found this hiding under some stuff. Anyone ever seen one like this or better yet used one like it? It looks to be over my head unless someone could dumb it down for me. I set gains by ear, but if this could be used I would like to play around with it some. There is no manual that I can find. Maybe I could contact the manufacturer, but thought I would ask here before I put too much effort into something that Maybe cant even be used for what I want to do with it. Here is a pic, sorry it's crappy took it on my Blackberry. Leader LBO 525L Oscilloscope 50MHz Any thoughts ?? Thanks.

Like the topic says. If I'm going for a good SQ out of a sub, does the sound quality suffer if I'm running them at a lower ohm load like 2, 1 or .5ohms (as opposed to 4ohms). I'm looking to start up my wife's car with a SQ system and want to match subs and amps for good sq. Thanks guys.

I was all set to buy an Alpine PDX-4.100 for the front stage and a Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000-bd for my sub. Then I read some more about amps and i really like the feaetures on the JL audio stuff, specifically, that their amps put out consistent power at any impedance between 1.5 and 4 ohms and at any voltage between 11 and 14.4 volts. This seems to be worht the extra cash outlay. Also, I am well aware of the quality of JL products. My question: Is JL the only company that makes amps that will put out a consistent power across ohms and with different voltages? In my research, I was unable to find any other amps that did this. Thanks for your help. In case it …

So, I just but in the new BL, (see sig for more info), and I am very displeased with the amp I'm powering it with, so I think it's time for a new one. Current amp is putting out 600 at 1 ohm, (so it claims, not so sure it is), and I am looking to change that; on a $300ish or less budget I was thinking an audioque 1200d or an SAZ-1000d, (the pre-order for the sundown 1200 will be long over by the time I have the money for a new amp, so it is probably out of my price range). Are there other good choices out there? This is going to be a budget-concious set-up so if there are two solid amps putting out decent power, then I'd go for the cheaper one, unless of course it is o…
