Whats to be said for American Bass amplifiers? Hows the quality? any known problems? certain ones to watch out for? Ive seen them used on numerous youtube video's but that really tells me nothing. Reason for this thread is there is a local craigslister who has the VFL 150.1 i believe it is and states its capable of 2900rms @ 1 ohm. Price is something I could easily swing. Ive had my eye on a refurb saz-3500d from db-r lately but for the price of this one it may just be a better route. Just for reference saz 3500 at db-r is about $780 and the VFL 150.1 is $250. Guy says he will demo the amp before the sale to ensure it works. Seems like a deal but again.. these amps are so…

Just wondering where I should connect my stinger voltmeter.. I read some how-tos on it and it seems pretty simple but I haven't really seen a defined place to attach it to. Should I toss it on the front battery (under the hood) or in the trunk with the bat back there and wire it to the drivers seat?

I was re wiring some amps back up in my jeep today and everything was working fine, including the headunit. I took it out to change the remote wire and put it back in, only to find out it won't turn on at all, completely blank display. I have a Pioneer DEH-1200mp, relatively new. No blown fuses, not under the dash, not on the back of the headunit, nor under the hood. I didn't smell any burnt smell from the headunit.... I really don't see how it could have fried either. Strangely enough, if the remote wire is connected, both of my amps power on without the ignition turning on. so I have to keep it disconnected otherwise the battery will drain. I tried connecting the ignit…

Hey guys I just got my truck and it's a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Ext Cab. I ordered a Pioneer AVH-P4200 to replace the stock head unit which is a din and a half but I will cut some of the benzel to make it fit. My question is that I cant find any mounting kits/bracket for this truck for a double din and was wondering if there is some easy way to make one or if I could buy one somewhere. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, iv just been looking around for a battery and oddly enough i found a marine AMG battery in my dads garage. Its a Cabela's Advanced Angler "Group Size 30" battery. Heres a link showing all of its specs. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Boating/AutoBoat-Batteries-Chargers/Marine-Deep-Cycle-Batteries|/pc/104794380/c/104698080/sc/104446080/Cabelas-Advanced-Angler-AGM-Batteries/727395.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fboating-auto-boat-batteries-chargers-marine-deep-cycle-batteries%2F_%2FN-1100564%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104446080%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104794380%253Bcat104698080&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104794380%3Bcat104698080%3Bcat104446080 Now seeing the amp rating an…

Looked around for a bit and decided to go with this dual rectifier alt from alternatorparts.com . I ran it via specs of their website ( BTW i got the Quicktifier210 with a 220 amp denso alt). Guy told me it would do full output at 1200rpm( 120 i think at Idle). I upgraded the big three and ran it all with 1/0 Knu Koncept Kolossus wire. I am not running much, Double din JVC HU and a lightning audio 600.2 on a single W0 10. Gain is set to half. Optima Red top batt. My ordeal is, that the moment I put it in gear everything dims. And, if i have a few things on ( IE. air, turn sigs, headlights) things seem to get a bit worse. I took the gauge cluster out and cleaned everythi…

If not how off do you think it is and why? i know the cig lighter is hooked straight up to the battery and its a 12v lighter but will this volt meter be accurate at all? here it is http://www.amazon.com/Equus-3721-Battery-Charging-Monitor/dp/B000EVWDU0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1307664465&sr=8-3

I recently installed a new amp. I had a Sundown saz 1500 on my btl n2 12", and now I run a Sundown saz 3000. The box is 2.1 ft3 net, slot ported to 32 Hz. I am a little ...worried ! I thought the change would be HUGE, but no, it is not ! I think it's louder, but I've never mesured it. Do you think I expected too much from the new amp ? My electrical seems to handle that power fine, I did not expect that !!! Only 2 batteries on a (solid) stock alt. I have a diesel engine.

Hey guys I would be wiring up my 4 channel amp, and have a few questions. (1) I have read that the power wire should go one side of the car and speaker wire (rca) should go on the other side. Should the remote wire go on the side of the power wire or on the side with the speaker wire? (2) I am using 2 ch bridged for my sub, and the other 2 ch ( built in crossover on amp), for a pair of mids and tweeter. what frequency should I set it to? (3) The HU has 3 pairs of 4 volt rca pre output, should I use these or the the wires from the hu haness to feed the amp or a combination of both? , I have rear speakers which can also be included, what would be the best setup? Thanks.

My jvc kw nx 7000 is buggin' out and they want $50 plus shipping for me to send it to Colorado to diagnose it before they can even give me an idea on price. Has anybody ever dealt with a company for touch screen repair? I am reluctant to spend 70-100 just to send it out to be told it is another 400 to fix. Any ideas?

I've had my setup out of my car for several months now but i still have both 200A solenoids in the car because the input wire is still hot and the fuse for it is in a place that is hard to get to and i'll change it out once i replace my starting battery. Well.. couple days ago, i noticed my clock in my car was resetting itself but nothing else in the car showed symptoms of loss of battery connection so i thought the clock itself was bad.... Well, luckily today, it did it in front of me when i started the car.. the car sounded like it was in TERRIBLE strain to start and the solenoids in the back kept randomly switching on\off! Then the car started.. Well, since that wasn'…

I had an old Thunderbird I bought as a kid, every morning after I bought it I went to start it up for work but it was dead. I was a kid, no money to fix it, no skills on figuring out what was wrong or how to fix it. I got a new bettery thinkin it was OK. Next day i was late for work. Checked alternator, solenoid. Copuld not figure the thing out. One day I had to disconnect the power seat for something, problem went away. For a few weeks now when I have gone to start the van, it seemed like it was low on juice. I have 3 AGM bateries, 2 of them huge 100aH. It's been on my mind, but was always hard to tell for sure if there was an issue. Today i went to bring Brandy to wo…

I want to make sure my amp is set correct so I am going to try and pick up a digital multimeter soon. I have never used before though. Do I need an expensive one or any work fine. (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_03482141000P?prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2). Using the equation in the topic my voltage should be about 22.3v. What would I set the dmm in the picture too?

I'm getting my fully loaded Fi BTL N2 18'' soon. I'm still not sure what amp to get without overpowering or under powering the BTL. Do you think 1 Rockford t2500bdcp would be too much for it (it put out 2500watts at 1ohm and 2 ohm)?? Or also im thinking about getting 2 rockford T1000bdcp's (which puts out 1000watts at 1ohm or 2ohm) and hooking up one amp on each coil on the BTL. Let me know what you guys think Thank you

I want to use a JL Audio XD400/4 amplifier to drive my front stage two-way component set. This amplifier is four channel but is bridgeable. I have a two channel input signal for the XD400/4. If I read the manual correctly, I need a y-adapter (I will just make a RCA cable with 2 in 4 out) to connect to the XD400/4 to use the amplifier as a L+R bridged. Right? So basically the XD400/4 needs a four channel input to run as stereo bridged? From the XD400/4 manual: "When a pair of the XD400/4’s channels are operating in bridged mode, the output will be in mono (only one channel). This mono channel can contain right channel only information, left channel only information or the …

My head unit was fine yesterday morning, but yesterday afternoon it statrting going crazy. I get in the car and it has reset itself to factory settings. The clock was wrong, it was in demo mode, and my buttons under the touch screen were unresponsive. The open and power buttons worked but the unit would turn itself back on after I turned it off. The touch screen still works for all the functions, but it is restarting with factory settings everytime the key is turned off. Wiring is fine and wouldn't account for the loss of function to the buttons
