I picked up a 2nd battery today. Wired it + from the front battery to positive on the back battery, Then positive from the back battery to + on the amp. Then with the front battery negative disconnected I connected negative from the back battery to ground on the amp. So with the car being shut off and the front battery negative disconnected my amp is on, I basically have constant power? What am I doing wrong? Do I have to connect both front and back grounds to complete a loop or what? Is there any chance of blowing my amp or anything else by trying it? My remote wire for the amp is hooked up to the deck n I jus don't get why my amp is constantly on when the front isn't ho…

I have a '97 Grand Prix with a 220amp alt. and a 1.5v booster on it. I have a SAZ3500D BNIB, and will be picking up my 15" SMD in a week. I already ran the big 3 with 0 gauge and 2 runs of pos. & neg. to the back. Now I am looking at atlernators, should I get a 300+ alternator or can I run another 220amp alt. ? I can get another stock rebuilt to 220amps for about $200 and I know a couple welders that want to build a dual bracket, they are hard to find for a 3.8 V6, as are 300amp alts.. If I do get a 300a alt can I get by with just that one? And what are some suggested batteries for each setup? THANK YALL FOR YOU INPUT! I did try to search for my answer...

  6. Does anyone that is familiar with the Audiopipe 3000D (The one that is two 1500's strapped) familiar with what kind of current it pulls? I plan on getting one in the future, and I am trying to plan out my electrical system. I need to know what it takes to be able to back one of these suckers up. I currently have a 220amp h.o alternator, 1/0 Big 3, an Optima yellow top under the hood, and a run of 200amp fused 1/0 cable to the back.

Ok I just got my hifonics brutus 1600 mono amp, and I have a 13w7 (my sig). Its wired in series right now for a 3ohm load. Can I wire to .75 with this amp? Should I just push it at 3ohms? Using as a daily driver so I dont go too hard on it. Opinions? How much ouput would I get out of this?

I have a 2003 mustang and I'm planning on buying an 12" Fi Q with the BP power option, a RF T1500-1, and a RF T600-4 to power the four corners. My car is 100% stock and i was wondering if my 105 Amp alternator and the big 3 fix would be enough to power all this. If not what should I do. Oh and why is it people prefer batteries to capacitors? Thanks, Matt *Edit* The alternator is 105-110 Amps. Not that it makes much of a difference...

So I'm starting on my front stage. Finally got a car. It's a 98 camry. I'm trying to find a decent head unit but I'm not trying to spend 300 bucks on one. Any recommendations? I used to have a boss and Jenson but they would freeze when I turned my subs on I'm not putting any subs in the vehicle not until I got a little more money.

I'm looking into getting a vehicle with a little more space for some more beat. Right now I have a dual 2 ohm Fi BTL N2 18 being run by an AQ2200D at 1 ohm. If I was to upgrade the system, I would probably get another AQ2200D and another dual 2 BTL. I realize that I could run 1 amp to each sub, but I was wondering if linking the amps made a cleaner signal. It is my understanding that 2 ohms @ 4400 watts is better than 1 ohm @ 2200 watts x 2. If I was to link the amps, how would I go about doing it? What would need to be input/output from either amp in order to run 4400 watts @ 2 ohms? Thanks guys! <--------------

ok, I have to admit, I have an amplifer addiction, at first it was just with classic RF amps, kicker ZR's, Orion HCCA's, with a fwe ZED Audio produced US Acoustics... but then I started branching out my interest, and I sorta follow how are the amplifer people online and I pay attention to their choices and learn from their mistakes or good choices, guys like Josh Laine, zane (below reality), SQStephen, PerryB, and Tirefyr (aka ryan) are just a few that come to mind, so to get on with it, I have been an MB Quart follower, not always been able to afford their products, in many cases opting for lesser expensive pieces, so when Ryan orders the MB Quart right after he orde…

I have a Arc Audio SE-2150se, and I have it in mono mode, running at 2 ohms to my fully loaded, D1 18'' fi btl. Everything works fine, but I wanted to turn it up this past weekend to show of to my friends, so when I turn up the amp, from 1/4, to 3/4, it sounded much louder. But when I turn it up, the protect mode light will flicker red, just for when the bass drop, now I know this can't be good. It goes back green, but when ever the bass drops, a big one, it will just flicker red for that one second. Can any body tell me why this is, and is it safe to play it that loud? Not daily, I'm not stupid, but whenever I want to show off for a song or two, can I or should I play it…

Basically, I am contemplating the carputer idea heavily and will be looking for ideas as far as EQing and setting the system up. I want it headunitless, so an external unit is needed. Is there something out that has all the features of an active type of headunit? (think TA etc...) Any ideas post them up, the carputer is only in the early stages but I will be putting everything together in pieces. Help me out here

Currently I'm running off ALL stock electrical in my 99 Grand Am. I found an extra car battery in the garage the other day, and got to wondering. I know that deep cell batteries such as the optimas and kinetics are optimal, but would a regular crank battery help my electrical system out at all? It's not reccommended I know, but I have it and if it would help then I don't see why not until I do get a deep cell. Additional Info: Big 3 is NOT done yet. Running a 1000w Memphis Class D @ 1ohm 1 run of 1/0 power to a dist. block in the trunk with a run of 4g to the sub amp and a run of 8g to the mid/highs amp. Got the 1/0 ground from the amp to chassis Stock batt and alt

  21. I'll be running a SAZ 2500D and a SAX 100.4. The 2500 will be at 1 ohm and the 100.4 will be at 2 ohms. So that's roughly 3140 watts. I have about a 50 ah battery up front, will have a 100 ah battery in the back (deka intimidator 9A31), and I will have the big three. Will I need a high output alternator? I'm not sure what my alternator is rated for. I'm guessing its between 60-100 amps. I have a Chevy 1500 1990 4.3L V6 w/AC.

I am thinking about beefing up the charging system in my ride. I have a 03' 1.7L Civic, and my amp is capable of 2500Wrms. Big three is done in 0AWG. Eventually, I would like to have a HO Alternator and multiple battery setup. What should my first step be? I feel like I should save up and get the HO Alternator first, as additional batteries, or a deep cycle battery is only a temporary solution. I have been considering purchasing a Yellowtop to put in the trunk for now, and moving it up front later after getting the HO alternator and a dedicated deep cycle for the trunk. I don't really use my system too often, but when I do I like to play it full tilt. Would my whimpy stoc…
