So this may be a noob question but i need to learn car 08 grand prix gxp with mechman 270 2 xcon 12's in 4th order bandpass I can purchase two amps vibe blackbox bass 5 that put out (each amp) 1500rms @2ohms I can get both $750 total Or I can purchase one amp sundown 3500d that puts out 1750 rms @2ohms for $800 Would I benefit from getting the two amps and having one to each woofer or would the single amp be my best thing to do?

My setup is in my sig. I have everything set right on the amp and all the wires have solid connections, but no matter what I put the gain at and what volume I listen at, the amp will go into protect sometimes and then come out of it. I'm wired to 1 ohm @ 1000w. I don't get it. Could I have damaged my amp when the brahma blew? I had bass boost on with the brahma and didn't know it until I went and checked the levels when I hooked up the icon. I turned all that off so it's not on anymore. Any thoughts? If I forgot some info that you need, let me know.

yep..we have one at the shop..lol.. here's a link at crutchfield anyway, in person, this thing looks sweet. our manager is thinking of dropping it in his car for demo. what are your thoughts on this? good or bad? we are thinking, since it can send/recieve anything bluetooth, ie: play the mp3s off your phone, display your contact list, etc...if one had a bluetooth enabled laptop,you'd never, ever need to buy cd's again... again, thoughts? if chris puts this in car, i'll post updates... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I just got a list from the installers at the shop and they gave me a list of crap that i really dont need, but I have narrowed it to what I am going to get. I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500HD that I have added the big 3 in 1/0 and a stinger spp1500d to. Inside I have a crescendo bc2000 powering a dc xl 12 d2 and a merlon meam50.4 powering my components and coaxials. While playing music with the bass up the low notes make the voltage drop. Sometimes down to the mid 12s from about 14.18. What can I do to fix this? Would an alt be the best way to go? If so what size and brand do i need? Also has anyone messed with the alts on dbelectrical.com?

So if you put the power, ignition and ground from the head-unit on the battery directly and there is no power, is the head-unit faulty? Because i only get a tiny tiny spark on the positive post... other then that, no reaction. http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/ida-x305s/

I'm planning adding some some battery terminals from knu konceptz, but there are about 3 smaller (stock) cables currently running to the power terminal now. Could I just combine all these and use them in one of the 0 gauge ports of the knu konceptz terminal? And then leave the two remaining 0 gauge ports for big 3 cable/amp cable? thanks.

Okay so im hooking up my new system and i dont know what to get for my fuses or my distribution block. Im going to run 3 amps connected to a powermaster D1200 battery. An alpine 650 mono, 2 channel Rockford punch 550x2, and a Sundown SAE 1200D. What distribution blocks would work? Fuses? Gauge sizes? How would i hook up the battery to the amps and other battery? whats up guys? long time no talk! anyways im looking to start back into car audio. first things first... alternator. my stock alternator is 110amp factory with 2 regular car batteries up front (because its a diesel for those who dont know) so my question is, if i keep my stock 110amp alt, 2 regular batteries up fornt and say 1 c&d 75ah battery in back with the big 3 done and all 0 gauge wiring, how many watts do you all think i could run safely? im running a audiopipe 1000 right now on my 2 sa8v2s and i have no light dimming or anything. whats yalls thoughts on this? Ok so let me get this straight........so 1 ohm basically is the max power of the sub...but when u go to 2 ohms its cut in half because its spread out to 2 motors but overall pretty much matching the same power as the 1ohm???and 4ohms basically overall matching the same power as the others if each ohm was combined???/ Im real confused someone explain it!!!!!Also what you think is better a 2ohm BL or 1ohm..

Okay so maybe this is a stupid question just because the amount of power should be fairly close to one another. But I have 2, 15in zcon d2. And im going to buy a new amp,next week. I was thinking of cresendo 5500 and running it at .5 ohms like i am now. But somebody local to me is selling 2 svc 3000. If i strap them ill be doing 6k at 2 ohms. Or my origin plan of crezenxo amp which is rated for 5850 @1ohm. Since im running that at .5ohms not,sure how much ill actually be getting theres no spec on .5 ohm. So my question is which way would be better or does it not matter since theyll be pretty,close? Is this just going to be what brand i choose to run or is there more pro…

I have an old school LP 1502IQ. It has not be modded. I'm getting ready to start putting together something for my wife's car. She wants a good sounding front stage with minimal bass from a sub. She listens to all kinds of music. Is this amp worth sending out to be modded and put on a component set of Focals or similar? Or should I just sell it and get a Sundown amp. If I go with the Sundown amp...could the 100.4 do the front components and also a sub like the SA-8 on pre-sale now? This is going in a Kia Spectra5. The specs show that it has to have a slim mount component set. Does anyone know of any components around the same quality as the Focals that are shall…

I got a brand new aq1200d and after i wired everything up the amp has power and has plenty of it, getting almost 14 volts while the car is running, but there is no signal getting sent out from the amp. Ive tested it with a known good rca cable and even used an ipod to eliminate the head unit but still no sound. I don't know what to check now. The amp is not going into protected mode. Going to call audioque 2night after class and see if they have any input. any advise before i go crazy lol

So far in my 2001 Ford Windstar I have: 2 Alpine Type Rs Hifonics Brutus 1200 mono at 1 ohm Kinetik HC1800 under the hood Big three upgrade 0/1 gauge wire I just had a new 250 amp alternator installed. After hooking up the radio my lights STILL dim and looks as though the amp is dipping. Why am I still having this problem? I thought I had gone through all necessary steps but I guess I'm missing something? What is next a second battery? Any help or input greatly appreciated. -CHRIS

I was planning on upgradingg my electrical by replacing my main batt. I was thinking about a batt along the lines of a d6500. Max amps are about 3900 and ah is about 80. Should my stock alt, 110 amps, be able to charge the d6500 without a problem? Im just looking for a theoretical answer. Thanks for the help

Well I have built a box for my btl that is 4.8 cubes tuned to 33 hz and the btl should be here any day now....i have a T10001bd but its sold because i know i need more than that for the btl....so i have about 400$ to spend....what is the best amp or amps for that price to push THE btl the best....or if there is one amp that in the long run i can get 2 one for each 2ohm coil....you know get one now and one later....what is yalls op.....thanks Edit....its fully loaded forgot to add that...p-cham,xmax,trip mag shoulda got the dual 1 but oh well lol

Is there a way to wake up both amps and have them power on instead of having to wire both with the (don't remember name) "wake up wire" ? I looked on the back of my cd player and it doesn't look like there's a spot to put it. But there is a slot for "sub out:" on it hat looks like its just a rca cable connection....hrmmm

Going to be picking up my 88 Cadillac Eldorado this weekend and it needs a new battery under the hood. I need the biggest bang for my buck. I'm looking at WalMart since Marine Batteries are cheap. Any suggestions on which has the most oomph without having to tear under hood to fit something. I'll be running extra batteries in the back for the future, but right now I'll just need to run a Carver PMA 2062 for front stage and a Helix SPXL1000B in the future to run a pair of DP's. My budget is around 100 bucks.

I am planning to upgrade my power wire to 1 awg sgx or sxg... Idk which it is... But i cant find anywhere to get the bushing through the firewall. And i dont think this size wire will fit under the trim pannel on the floor along the doors... How should i run this size wire? I have a 2006 tundra access cab. There is a center console in the middle that i may be able to use to help hide it. It is going just directly behind the drivers seat. I already have a hole in the firewall for the 8awg all the way to the left side so it is pretty straight from batt to the rear any help is better than nothig.Thanks

Looking for an amp to power my soon-to-come SS RL-p12. I found a Digital Audio amp that didn't look too bad. Just wondering if anyone has/had any experience with them. The key thing here is I also need a two channel (75 x 2 - 100 x 2) that matches. (I found a 75 x 2 Digital Audio also.) I am also leaning towards the Directed 750d and 300/2.
