I'm trying to find info about power wire / fuse for this amp but coming up short on answers. I'm not planning on bridging the amp so all channels stereo. The car alt is 110 with big three in 4g. Being that this amp is extremely effiecient will my stock alt / batt be enough? As for fuses I'm at a complete loss as this amp does not come with any internal fusing. My goal is obviously run an inline and also have a fused distro block, even tho this will be the only amp. Probably a stupid question but I just want to properly have this amp protected. Im not partial to either 4g or 1g for the power so either would be fine.

also if i turn the music up to loud the volts drop way to much and my amp will go into protect i have a 250 amp alternator and a optima redtop under the hood and 2 deka intimidators in the trunk and a sundown 3000d im guessing the problem is the red top what do you guys think

I have a Alpine PDX 4.150 that I want to run my mids and highs with. I currently have 4 Alpine R 5x7's and would like to add an additional set of 1in dome tweeters on the pillars. How would I go about wiring that up? Thanks

Im getting a 12" FI Q with the cooling package. It will be put into a 2.5 cu ft. box tuned to 31-33hz (cant deside yet). But I really want to know a good amp to power it with that will not kill my wallet or my electrical in my car. Iv got stock alt and bat with a big 3 upgrade and a 5 farad cap. Also I DO NOT plan on running at 1 ohm b/c i want good SQ. Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks

As the title says this will be about the older fosgate 1000.1bd. Im not sure i understand the class"BD" thing? how does that compare to a regular just class D amp? Also im going to have to double check but im almost positive the SSF on the amp at its lowest setting is only 50hz, can that hurt me at all as far as sub performance? i have a box tuned in the 33hz area. just looking for any kind of technical answer to help understand this amp better and decide if it needs to be put up in the garage and replaced lol.

I'm thinking about going all out in my car. I'm already building a new box or two for my Fi BL15. I'm thinking 8"s in the front doors maybe some HLCD. Rear fill will more than likely be something modest. Now here is the kicker, I want to keep the factory radio. The car is a 2005 Chrysler 300c with the Boston Acoustics 8ch system. I was looking at the JL Clean Sweep, Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty, and I recently came across the JBL MS-8. The JBL website it awesome compared to the other two, but it appears the JBL is geared more for the person not wanting to add amps or aftermarket speakers. Basically I'm planning on starting a build pretty soon and right now I'm doing my homework on headunits. I've pretty much narrowed it down to these two. They are practically the same price(JVC is $10 more) and the JVC has a few more features like HD radio, 5V pre-outs, etc. But Pioneer seems to have a better reputation, so I'm not really sure. These seem to be the best two that fit my requirements as I need one that is around $150, has at least 4V outputs, and sub pre amp outputs. So which one do you guys think would be the better buy?

I have front and trunk batteries in parallel and want to know how to charge them together without taking them out of the car if its possible. I don't want to just hook charger up while everything else is connected and burn out an amp or anything else electrical in the car. But if its safe to do it then that would help instead of going through the whole routine of taking each one out and doing them one at a time.

i need help picking a new headunit either the pioneer deh 7100bt or the soundstream vir7870 dvd i do compete so i want it to work with comps also

I am looking for a 4v preamp in dash dvd player. I have found a few nice kenwoods but they arent in dash dvds. I wanted a pioneer but it only has a 2v. Are there any solid 4v players that won't break the bank or am I just wasting my time looking?

If an amplifier is receiving a bandpassed input from the head unit of say 60hz - 2000hz and I used the RCA out from the amp to another amp will the second amp receive the same frequencies as the first? I would think so as I dont see how it could be full range as it's not receiving full range input from the source. Just thinking and wanted to double check with some of you guys to confirm. ?

I was looking at a aq2200d. I have a 2009 Tahoe with a 4.8L?. So I was thinking if I had a upgraded battery in the front and a bank of kinetic 1800s or similar from XS power(which one would be better) also open to other suggestions? Would that be enough to run a aq2200d at .5 daily? It will only be played at full tilt for demos. Also I will probably put a battery charger on the bank at night.

I have currently a 250 amp fuse on my wire from alt to battery, would upgrading to a 300 amp fuse help or hurt in anyway? Does a bigger fuse give me more amp current to the battery (off a 180 amp alt)?

How many in-line fuse holders do I need? 1/0 from front to a Stinger T splitter (http://www.woofersetc.com/p8033/SPD512--Stinger-1-0-Gauge-Tee-Distribution-Block.htm) and 1/0 going to SAZ-1500, and 4ga going to a Alpine PDX 4.150. I am going to order a Stinger 150 to go between the SAZ amp and the T and a 60amp to go between the Alpine amp and the T Do I also need a 250 amp inline up front under hood or is that overkill? Hey all. The topic pretty much states it all. I've got a 225 amp EA alt and 13.6 idle voltage isn't cutting it. If anyone knows of a VCM or way to simply increase voltage I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

I currently have a 90 amp alternator, im not sure if i should purchase a HO alternator (150 amps). During the week i will be doing the big 3 upgrade along with purchasing a new baterry. The battery im getting is a Deka Intimidator AGM battery: Group Size 78 Warranty 72 Month Chemistry AGM Cold Cranking Amps 740 Cranking Amps 850 Reserve Capacity 120 Amp Hour Rate 55 The sound system im going to be adding is 2 12 Fi BLs and a hifonoics Brutus BRZ2100.1D. So, do i stay stock or go to HO alt, moneys tight so id only get the new alt if its absolutely necessary.

I have 2 Audioque 2200d amps..My question is what type of electrical would i need? My car has a 160 amp alt,and i have 2 deka g31,would that be good for it? Its gonna be for daily usage..Thanks for any help.

what wire should i look into? im not really sure how to ask all these questions so lemme know if i get confusing. im pretty sure im running 1/0 gauge wire from my battery to my amp. (my amp is a sundown sae 1200 v2) .....let alone what fuse to run?? now what size and kind of wire to run from my amp to my sub? (sub is a 10" fi bl) ALSO what RCAs to run??? there are SOOO many brands and so many options. (i have an alpine ida x001 headunit if that helps too) i also am not sure how much wire i need for anything yet. just curious what i should look into. i plan on measuring out how much i need tomorrow. i know there are a lot of questions and i prob said something confusin…

So I dont know if I will need an alternator, at least I hope not. However, if I did I dont think it is possible to find an aftermarket one for the 4.2L as it is not a very common engine in the f150...anyone have any ideas (I would not be able to afford an alternator for a long time anyways, might have a new truck by then anyways...)

Currently have 1 run each 1/0 gauge wire on a 180 amp alt with 3 kinetik batteries on the back (running 1 audioque 3500d.1 in the back). My voltage at ilde is dropping to around 12 volts and at 2000 rpm it is dropping to around 12.3 to 12.5 volts when i'm cranking it up for demos. My question is would adding another run or two of 1/0 help keep my voltage up or do i need a bigger alt?

I have 2 Kinetik HC 2000's in my tahoe which is broken down for the time being. Fuel pump took a dump and its in-tank. not to mention i was just layed off from work.. its going to be sitting for a little while. Do i have anything to worry about, will the battery's be fine? ... im only asking this because im pretty sure ive read about this somewhere else but have nothing solid to go on.. i mean if they go dead i charge em.. right? lol. Just unsure and could use some clarification.

So I bought my Head Unit, Pioneer DEH-P4200ub. Bought all the installation gear I needed. I connected the wires correctly and when I plug everything in the unit turns on but the speakers aren't working. With the factory radio they work fine. I called best buy and the dude said that because I have onstar I need a special harness that's 100 bucks, and if I don't use it that the door chime won't work and the check engine light will come on. So my question is do I really need this special harness to make the speakers work as well? Is there any way I can bypass this? Or am I just not hooking it up right?
