So my buddy was sellin his Lanzar MaxP1200 amp for $70 and i picked it up for the hell of it, So my question is, What wrong with Lanzars exactly? They just really cheap? It says 1800 watts @ 1ohm but i dont believe it so im gonna run it at 2 ohms (900w rated) for the time being Is it a decent amp to run my Icon off of for a couple months until i buy my Audioque?

I have an alpine CDA-9853. I'm not sure what would be the best way to set it up. The crossover has front/rear/sub, I'm not sure about the slope and what Hz to tune them to for best sound. I have the front / rear set to 100hz and the slope to 24. It goes flat/6/12/18/24. I would like some advice on how to tune these. The subwoofer setting is what I'm most concerned about. I have a FI BL 12 and blew it. Now in the process of re coning it =( I'm also not sure what to set my amps LPF to.... I was told 80hz but I want to be sure. Many people also mentioned bass boost being bad, is this true? And one more question, should I keep my subwoofer level on 0 at all time…

I'll be running a SAZ 2500D and a SAX 100.4. The 2500 will be at 1 ohm and the 100.4 will be at 2 ohms. So that's roughly 3140 watts. I have about a 50 ah battery up front, will have a 100 ah battery in the back (deka intimidator 9A31), and I will have the big three. Will I need a high output alternator? I'm not sure what my alternator is rated for. I'm guessing its between 60-100 amps. I have a Chevy 1500 1990 4.3L V6 w/AC.

Sup everyone, had a few questions. So I just got the new Sundown SAX 100.4D. Its got some EQ buttons that I question because I dont know them. Under the High Pass Filter there is a button is either 12db or if pressed 24db. Also beside that one is a x1 or x10? The last is a knob that ranges from 50Hz -500Hz. Can anyone tell me the advantage of any of them? I played with those settings a little last night when I installed the amp.. I just need someone to give me a good starting point and a better understanding on how to set them. Examples would be greatly appreciated. So i checked today my battery voltage in the manual, its said it was 12.8v fully charged, this weekend into the week i am going to try and get a voltmeter, today i went to walmart, no luck. So the amps ive came down to for powering my 15" Fi BTL are: SunDown:SAZ-1000D which is $315, or maybe something with more if i can find one Audioque: 1200D or 2200D I dont want to buy or invest in an amp that is over $600 so if theres a better option please tell me. on a different note, what would an equalizer do for me,im trying to look into how to turn on and off the sub would a basic bass knob be the best? Looking at: SAZ1500D AQ1200D if i get a secod battery AQ2200D or SAE 1200D Now these are the ones if narrowed it down to for powering one 15" Fi BTL, now i do not know if my battery and alt can handle it, but when my car comes back from the shop il take a look and post it on here (its in the shop for oil change and new brakes). So i recently bought a pioneer avic n4 and i hooked it all up and all the unit does is open up with a black screen and when car is the screen will go down...there is no illumination or nothing...although i do here the headunit making some noises....so i know its working...and i have tried a new 30 pin plug and that didnt help.

so i have a nissan murano 09' with out the bose or the navi, and i want to install a head unit, but the problem is that the factory unit is connected to this screen that shows what track is playing and the temprature and what not, similar to this http://image.trucktrend.com/f/suv-of-the-year/2009-motor-trend-sport-utility-of-the-year-contender-nissan-murano/11099865/2009-nissan-murano-interior.jpg. but since the im still using the factory my speakers are playing base too and its really annoying, so is this just some way i can actually put in a head unit? or should i just get better speakers? let me know if yall need more details

hey i posted on another forum the question on wether or not it was a good amp for $250 i am buying two kinetik 2000's and i have 0ga wire all around my alt is stock @ 80 to 100a. i am only looking for about 2000 watts because i have 2 fissd's. i got responses back this amp is a current hog and i need to run it @ 17v to get it's full potential but i dont need the full potential, besides arent all amps that provide 4k worth of power current hogs? how do you guys feel about this amp for daily 2k on the electrical set up i have?

So I recently put a pioneer deck in my truck and noticed it has a feature called "Sound Retriever"...Supposedly it enhances compressed audio... Any idea how it does that? And if it's ok to turn on? (What does it do with uncompressed audio?)

I was looking for one with: - USB connection to charge and control I Pod through head unit. - Play's CD's well. - AM/FM radio with presets. - 4v RCA pre-outs My price limit is $300. And what I've been looking at are: - Pioneer DEH-P7200HD - Alpine CDA-9886 - Eclipse CD7200 mkII Have you used any of these head units, & which one do you think I should get? hey i don't understand why visions in my town when running the speaker wire to the sub used 16 gauge and twirled it around it self so when i unwound it there was probably 7-9 ft just going to the box does twisting the wire do anything or are they just trying to charge for more wire ? I'm redoing it with 12 gauge it's only for a 600rms alpine amp so 12 gauge i figure is plenty

Before I start going through the troubleshooting list since there is noise with the radio turned off I was thinking there might be a quicker answer. Here goes, my brother had his system installed a couple of years ago in his VW "something" I think jetta but it worked fine the whole time but a week ago all of a sudden there was noise with the radio turned on or off using the turn signal, winsheild wipers, rpm, pretty much anything electrical coming through the speakers with radio on or off like Lelu please help

This amp is cutting off on me at high and when I turn it down for a few seconds it come back on. Could this be from a short on one of the speakers lead. The amp is not hot at all and I notice that it just started doing this about a week ago. It has a status light that is blinking but the manual does not explain what blinking sequence this applies to code 11-thermal protection, code 12-short protection, code 13-repeated short & code 14-over volt protection.

I have 2 kicker l7 15's and my amp went into protect mode, i checked allthe wiring and also unplugged my subs and the amp was still in protect mode..Any other way to see if my subs are good or was unpluugging them good enough being that the amp stayed in protect mode?

Hi my step brother has two phoenix gold octane 10s and a phoenix gold 2 channel amp, and when he has both subs hooked up the amp goes into protect mode but when only one is wired to it it plays fine but when u hook two up again it goes back into protect mode... occasionally it will play with both wired up but only for about 1 min. then it goes back into protect mode until 1 is unwired. is it the subs or amp (oh yea one of the subs sounds like its blown but still plays just distorted)

Ok guys, I'm befuddled, so I'm hoping someone here can enlighten me. (without flaming me too much) I am in the market for a simple headunit. I am currently rebuilding my system and have plenty understanding of what I need and how to install it. What I am looking for, is a couple of technical fill-ins, to add the WHY to my WHAT & HOW.
