What do you guys think about these kinds of head units? I was looking at getting the pioneer MVH-p8200 which features wise is pucking badass but what about performance wise? I see it only has 2v pre outs. I haven't seen another digital media reciever with anything higher.

Any body know how to hookup your steering wheels controls to your aftermarket head unit? I just installed my Kenwood KDC-138 and the only thing that could make me happier would be to control the volume with ease

  6. So while I was deployed to the middle east I acquired my car audio equipment. But now I'd like to know what amp alternators and batteries would work best for my system. I'll be running a 15 BTL off of a Soundstream DTR2200 which should push 2200 watts to 1 ohm. I'll also have a 4 channel Soundstream amp pushing 100 watts a piece to 4 6.5s in the doors of my Tahoe. It'll be ran off of a Pioneer deck. I've heard al lot about Optima batteries but have read mixed reviews on them. As far as alternators, I'm open to any decent brand that audiophiles have had luck with. Thanks in advance for the help.

  8. I have an '06 tahoe and I am planning on running a saz-3500d @ 1.33ohms and a sax-125.2. I have $400 to put towards an alt today, this Saturday I'll have enough to purchase: 2000-2006 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban V8 AD 270 Amp XP series alternator That seems to be the highest rated alternator I can find. Am I better off waiting and getting that or do any of you guys know of anything cheaper but just as good?

So my midbass amp shuts off after 15-20 minutes of hard playing. I am pretty sure I am asking the amp to do more than it is capable of, BUT also know my mounting location is NOT ideal. SO heres the details. The amp is a Alpine MRP-F600, capable of 300 watts RMS x 2 @ 4 ohms. I have the amp mounted on the back of the box, with the vents running side to side, in a SEALED trunk. The midbass drivers are Aura NS10-513-4A, Aurasound NS10-513-4A 10" Subwoofer NLA from Madisound The Auras are rated @ 200 watt RMS and 800 peak. I have the Aura's crossed @ HPF 50hz 12db slope, LPF 400hz 12db slope. The Aura' are mounted IB in the front doors. There is TWO other amplifiers in th…

Please correct me if I'm wrong. In an instance where a persons deck only allows you to turn up the sub only soo much but you want it louder, in order to make it louder, rather than turning your amps gain up excessively damaging your subs you'd use a line driver. Correct?

Right now I'm powering my 12" Treo SX with a RD 1750.1 wired to .5 ohms. Not sure exactly how many watts I'm getting taking effieciency, ohm rise and other things into consideration but overall I'm happy with its output. Was just curious though...given everything is the same other than switching out the RD with a Sundown 2500 wired to .5 ohms (sub is dual 1 so I'm looking at .5 or 2 ohm options) how much of a difference could I be looking at? The pre sale for the sundowns looks like an amazing price and honestly I'm considering picking one up.

Hi- Does anyone know of some good active crossovers that have bandpass options? All of the ones I've been looking at only do high pass and have a subwoofer output. I really need one that can do a bandpass 50 hz to 2.5 khz, or just a 2.5 khz low pass for my mids. Then a 2.5 khz high pass for the tweeters. Obviously the high pass isn't hard to find but for some reason the low pass is... Any suggestions? Budget is maxed out at around $150. Any other info required just ask and I'll let you know. Thanks!

I'm building a new box soon for my rl-p 18, and was just thinking of a better way to wire my sub(not wiring it to a different load, just wiring it to one ohm differently. Its a d2 and my amp is a saz1000d. the way its wired now, its just like the image on the 12 volt, wired parallel. the problem is that where the pos and neg go into the sub from the amp, the terminal isnt large enough to cram two 10 gauge wires in. In order to get it in i had to shave a bunch off of it to fit them in. Is it possible to just run one pos from the amp to one on the sub, then run the other pos on the amp to the other pos on the sub since it is a mono amp? thanks

Well I just started today really trying to tweak everything on my amplifiers to get everything working correctly. I started with my big amp setting the gain with a DMM. all that went well but I noticed that my subsonic may have been off. So I popped in a tone to 33hz to try and make it cutoff at that point and its not. I cranked it up to 60 hz (has a range of 10-60hz) and it is still not cutting that signal out. Is it possible I have a faulty SSF? I have a SAZ-3500D and a SAX-50.4

  18. Currently on my HU there are a lot of options for bass and sub settings. I currently have the bass setting to zero and the sub settings at -20 (lowest it can go) and on my amp I have set my gain using a DMM and reading the "how to set your amp gain" post. Now I was just curious if by having the subwoofer to -20, and having my eq for anything below 50hz set to zero or lower (on my hu) is hurting the performance at all. Currently, the gain on the woofer is about 70% of the way up and its not clipping. Do I set the sub (lets just say) at 0 and same with the built in eq for anything below 50hz? Will this improve anything? And yes I would re set the gain on my amp. EDIT: I for…

  21. I currently have a CDA-9855, but the CD player is starting to skip rather easily. I want to know what would be some good HUs. I'd like it to have HPFs and a LPF with adjustable slopes,2 way and 3 way xovers, graphic eq and/or parametric eq, time correction, full speed ipod/iphone capability. I think the 9887 is nice but does anyone have experience with them as well as "imprint"? Thanks

I have 2 questions, and was hoping for some answers. 1. Do they make custom alternators, or just the ones listed on the site? 2. How do I contact them? (Is there an email, or do I just have to do it through their website?) Thanks guys
