So it seems like people don't know how to post pictures on here.. So here is a little tutorial. First, go to www.imgur.com Click the Cloud arrow at the very top left hand corner. Then click the "upload" button and an image from your computer. You can upload multiple images at one time. Wait for the image to finish uploading, then select the IMG extension and post into the thread, enjoy.

I've been looking around most of the forums and the only replies are "I wouldn't do it", but the question is never answered. Is it as simple as strapping two similar amps per coil or is there more to it. Also, can you put more than two amps per coil. If so, how. Thanks

  7. In this tutorial write up we will be covering how to create some awesome door panel pods that will add a custom look to your install, allow you to integrate multiple speakers into a door panel, and allow you to control the mounting position of the speakers. Note that while these are in fact door “pods” that are not actually permanently bonded are made as part of the door panel itself, there are many techniques within that could be used if you were in fact planning on creating door “panels” from scratch. Let’s begin! Step 1: Woodwork and Templates: In order to have a good foundation for our door pods we want to make awesome speaker rings. The video above covers m…

I am looking at getting theHertz HSK 165.4 speakers for a daily street beater / comp car and would like to do all the wiring myself. Does anybody have any experience or knowledge with wiring a 2002 VW Passat without the monsoon system? Like where are the voids at? where can I run wiring? I have never done any of this stuff so any help is appreciated! Pretty much at this time the questions I can think of are the ones stated above and: How do I wire my speakers. do I go from the speaker to the crossover to the amp? or speaker to the crossover to the deck? then the amp? What kind of wiring should I be using? Should I use some normal speaker wire? or should i beef it up? I…

A couple of quick comments: I've tried to make this as straight forward and digestible as possible; I've explained these things to the best of my knowledge... bear in mind, I am no Electrical Engineer. What follows is the result of monthss of research and hours of playing / testing my own equipment. Lastly - I'll leave this locked until Denim gets a look at it. -Nick

2005 4Runner, looking at having 2 locations to set the box, one behind the passenger seat, one in the cargo area. I'll run 2 sets of speaker wires to facilitate. I'm 99% decided on a RLi8 or Orphan8 and here's what I've come up with. The photos are of a Costco baby wipes box for visual reference 13.5x8.5x11. If made of 3/4" MDF, I get an internal volume of 798^inches or .46^ft. If the RLi8 is .08displacement, that gives me a .38^ft box... right? I was always shit for math, but am I missing something? If aiming for .4^ft like everybody says you should for these particular drivers in a sealed encosure, I can just make it an inch longer or maybe just some polyfill? Cu…

So there isn't a topic on isobaric mounting, I figured I might as well create an advanced discussion on it to answer any questions. We might have an idea that isobaric mounting allows us to use smaller enclosures, but why? The important parameters are: Re Le Bl Mms Cms / Kms Rms Sd from these we can characterize a driver/system using Vas, Fs, various Q's and so forth. When we mount two woofers isobarically the Electrical parameters Re, Le, and Bl will change - but it's like wiring a dual coil driver, we dont really change much here. The Mechanical parameters Mms, Cms, Rms, and Vas will change while Fs and Sd will not change. Since Mms and Kms have both doubled, and ther…

Since we are all very familiar with this phrase, I though that I, as well as anyone who is interested, to collectively share any real knowledge, related to car audio, into this thread. Preferably information that has been tested and proven and that has data to back it up. Such as formulas, graphs, and things of the like. If no URL is available, then go ahead and copy the material word for word, with the topic in bold letters before your response. I'm in hopes we could use this thread as one big knowledge base.

You can use it to light up a sponsors logo, or your own, or just to simply highlight an area of your build. In this video tutorial I show you Step by Step how you can use plexiglass and other techniques to create an awesome panel. The possibilities are endless, use it on an amp rack, use it on a sub box, use it on a console whatever! And yes, there are other ways this can be done, I just have found this way to work quite effectively! Lets learn how to make this: http://www.youtube.com/caraudiofabrication'> Enjoy, and…
