Looking for some ideas on building a box for my new mayhem 18 that should be here sometime this week. It is going in a 2002 pontiac grand prix 4 door. I can put it in the trunk or I can do a wall if thats whats needed. Just not sure on size and tuning for it.

Wanting to put a 18" sub in car. I've run into a 18" mayham, but trunk not big enough for the required space to perform. Any inputs on what amp would push this sub, I read the rms is 1250. Trying to finally complete my system.

What ever happened with the ***** ***** subwoofer line? Is the idea scrapped, behind, or just lost in the nether-regions of car audio space?

Doug is quite busy these days working as an electricial on a big jobsite (go figure) Doug as always shown up at Daytona SBNs over the last 20 years with a wild vehicle. 16 15's, 16 12's, 24 12's!!! Dougs been away from the SCENE for about 5-6 years "guess" but I've been chattin' wit him quite a bit! He is someone who has usually been sponsored. He and Mark used to work as installers at Jeff Blair's AUDIOMOTION of Altamonte Springs back in 1988-1994? I heard Jeff went on to become president of MTX Europe? (anybody know for sure?) Anywho, These guys were allways light tears ahead of their time. Back in 89-90 they showed up at the big sombrero (old Tampa Bucs Stad…

I don't know if you guys lost the paypal invoice that I paid for the two XT25 tweet replacements or not. Lemme know where you stand; I sent an email to the contact email I had that now comes back with permanent fatal errors. I replied to the paypal invoice email with no response. I sent a pm to you here with no response yet. At least let me know you're working on it. I'd rather have the gear than file a paypal claim. thanks, doug blohm

well here's what i used to have, tuned to 35hz 3 cubes each sub. In the trunk of my stratus ran at 1.333 ohms on an orion 1200d hit 143db on the TL i then moved on to one 15" ava..don't remember the specs on the box and never had it metered, was tuned low as hell though, i was stoned on flu meds when i designed the box, thats why the internal volume was only about 2.5 cubes My last sub setup was two 12" avas in .7 cubes each sealed, forget what i metered with the box facing the trunk, i think it was 139 but i don't remember as it was my progression towards SQ. Even in the small(tiny?) sealed boxes these things had absolutely no trouble with 20hz so there's my pr…

hey guys im buying a new system for my 2004 pontiac grand prix. I was thinking about buying 2 10" AA assassins and putting them in a 2.7 cubic feet box(ported) and powering them with the Hifonics BXi 1610D. Do you think that these are going to get loud and hit pretty hard. Or should i go bigger and get a 12" arsenal in a 1.8 cubic ft box powered by the Hifonics BXi 610. Or finally should i get a 12" Chaos in the same 1.8 cubic ft box powered by the Hifonics BXi 1210D. I dont really want to worry about upgrading my electical system now but i am open to suggestions. Thanks.

So I've got this build log going on. You can check it out HERE. It involves, dare I say, some old school Ascendant Audio Atlas subs. Taking it a step farther, I installed them IB style. Lastly, this is a, get as much bass as I can with 500 watts without losing any trunk space because I'm a sensible family man with financial limits, build. If you're interested check it out and let me know what you think. Here is a couple of teasers. Thanks for looking.

like the title says im planing my new setup and im thinkin either 8 assassin 12s, 6 arsenal15s, or 4 chaos18s. its gonna be for demos and fun not for numbers so if i port its gonna be low and sealed is even a possibility. i have a lil over 30cuft to play with, more if i get creative. electrical is covered im looking to give each sub rms power. im goin for the wow factor. basicly the question is which do you think would be more bad ass to see lol. all opinions are welcome

So here is what I came up with. 40"L x 18"W x 16"H using 3/4" MDF. Gross internal cf is 5.33cf. I figured around .18cf displacement /driver (estimated) and will be left with 4.97cf I bought 2 4" Precision Ports. There calculator on thier site recommends a Straigh Length of 9.48" and Flare length of 10.48" to achieve a tune of 32Hz in a 5.33cf box. I can handle that length with what was provided in the kit from Precision Ports. Here is where I get messed up. Being left with 4.97cf before taking out port displacement, I can't seem to calculate the volume in cf that these ports will take up. I have tried several different calculators and will continue to try and figure thi…

Ascendant Audio Carbon Fiber Mids Hey there. I figured I would make this thread to clear some info up, since these questions seem to come up a lot about these. I received mine in the mail today and started to take pictures and measure right away. If you want to know anything else that I don't state about them, let me know and I will do my best to answer them. 1.) What size are they? The outer diameter of the whole driver is JUST under 7", but that may be my tape measure. The mounting ring is 1/2" wide, which leaves 6" for cone+surround. Surround is another ~1/2" so the cone is ~5" from the inside of the surround to the other side. 2.) What's the mounting depth? …
