Ascendant Audio

  1. Started by Julian,

I was just curious what sizes do the sets come in 5.25in, 6.5in. 7 in, 8 in, etc? Also is there a passive crossover included or do i need to build one myself? (I'll probably be running active but just want to make sure at first). Also, what are the tweeters? The last time i remember they were Morel, and from the other comp sets i've seen they look like Morel tweeters. Thanks, Julian.

Hello All, I am just curious to know what can cause a woofers suspension to weaken? As stated in the thread title this is in reference to a Havoc 12" that I have had for a little over a year. I have never overpowered the sub and have always set the gains properly with an O-scope, and after doing so I have always turned the sub output on my deck way down into the negatives to get it to blend properly with my components. The amps I have used on the sub are the Sundown SAE-1000D, SAE-1200D, and most recently the SAZ-1500D. The box I have been using is two cubic feet tuned to 32Hz. This is a box I had built by Fisher customs here on the forums. I am currently in the pr…

  4. I didnt realize i had the gains up so high on this 1600 watt amp i got for the sub. LOL I know I need a recone kit cuz now no bass will play... not sure if i destroyed everything though? I know the cone is probably fried going to need new one but im going to have to call the speaker builder and ask if i need a complete rebuild kit.... but next time im going sealed wandering though can the avalanche handle 1000 watts as a daily driver? cuz i wanna know about how much wattage to give it and how should it be tuned? do i need an eq or some type of epicenter think its called where you can adjust what note frequencys your sub hits... (like 18,000-22,000 hrtz for low bass?) th…

So I've done my research and found numbers ranging from 1400-2200. Considering I will have 2750 rms on tap for this puppy, I would like to know a more accurate recommendation for daily power handling from either personal/professional experience. My setup is in signature. I ask because I would like set the amp via oscilloscope. I have a tendency to go overboard with everything. Thanks for having me to the forum and I appreciate any suggestions or comments.

I'm thinking about 2 12" Havocs and was wondering a few things. 1. What would sound louder, sealed or ported? 2. What would have better sound quality, sealed or ported? 3. What would hit lower, sealed or ported? I'm thinking about ported to 5cuft tuned to 30.5Hz. If sealed I'm thinking about 2.4cuft. If you think they would sound better in a different box size, please inform me. Thank you

I guess with the holidays and all of my car issues I neglected to post these. It shouldn't be too long before I get them in. Next to one (of 2) of the 4" Precision Ports I plan on using. and my favorite pic Enjoy!

Basically AA is new to me, i went straight for the Fi BTL, but ive been seeing these for sale locally lately (craigslist) and im curious.. For the most part i need to know what each sub is good for.. as in SPL, SQ.. Ive been eyeballin these 2 havoc 12's but dont really want to buy them knowing nothing about them.. AA is a good name, that im sure of. just need more details, if someone could point me in the right direction i would really appreciate it. At the very least someone who knows the havoc series please fill me in.

Hi AA group, I am not sure about this matter so I decided to post it here for much better idea than assumptions. What will be louder 2 15" in sealed or 1 15" in ported, I'm listening mostly to house, trance, R & B, hiphop and love songs. Thanks.

Hey guys, Just wondering if anybody has gotten to test out the new SMD woofer. I was thinking of selling my current lvl 5 15" dc woofer and getting a SMD 15. As of right now my trunk is pressed for space and I cannot give the level 5 the room it needs. Well I can but then I run into other problems. Looking at the SMD 15" specs it looks like it recommends a 2-4 cuFt box. As of right now, my level 5 is in a 3.5cuFt box and I was told to rebuild it to at least a 4.5 cuFt box. Well I can split the difference and probably get louder with this new sub. Also, building a box the biggest recommended space makes it better in spl competitions (which I want to do really bad). Just lo…
