General Fi

The Q wasn't what i expected maybe. It does hit low... but it's also missing in the 50-80hz range. I know it ain't a upper bass sub but I just bought it 1month ago and i don't want to try something else. I'm powering it with a hifonics 2006d at 1ohm so 1700 watt +/-. The box is 6.5 net tuned at 30hz atm. ssf set around 23-25hz and hpf around 80hz. I got id's ctx65cs in frontstage but i only cross them around 90hz.. otherwise my window rattle and it doesn't like the 250watt + im putting into them. I'm listening to rap mainly. The problems is that it miss a lof of the 50-80hz bass line and something that make it sound akward, even more since when i'm bumping it there's no w…

Ok, so i currently own a vw mk5 gti, and it has a rather small trunk space to say the least i plan on a small 12" sub. This is the trunk space i have to work with. (Picture is not my trunk) A friend of mine had a few 18" BTL's in his truck, big fan of steve meade. He says he would recommend nothing but Fi Audio for subwoofers. So im going to take his advice and go with that. I also will be using that for daily sound not SPL. He suggested the BTL 12" , unfortunately i dont know much about them, and he isnt around enough to be a big help. I realistically dont need the 2000 watts atm, but it would be nice to have that option for later, but someone i know said its not good …

i just recently bought 2 BLs and got them installed last friday and only 2 days after having them one of them blew. i couldnt tell u how bcuz i wasnt playing them near loud enough. i tried blaming the store that installed them bcuz they did such a sh***y job lol. do i send an email to [email protected] to report this and send it back to them?

Album of Fi BTL 15 Pictures I have a Btl 15 fully loaded with Cooling, HiXm coil, Inner Heat Sink, daily Driver, dual 2s. I was recently looking at my sub and found that the spiders were starting to crack. I thought maybe the motor was bending the frame and causing the coils to scrape. I had a friend post on a forum about frames bending and they all said the frame would crack and break before it would bend. I do not know if I got a faulty frame or what but my frame is bent which made the sub not be centered and caused the coils to scrape on the motor and put extra force on that side of the spider . Hey guys, just trying to get an answer. I just bought a blown RE SX 12 off of a guy, and I saw on youtube that someone had an RE SX 12 reconed by FI. I am VERY interested in getting this done to my SX, and I've sent a few emails over the last couple weeks but FI must be really busy. I was hoping to get an answer to just a few quick questions. 1. Ok I've never put any sound in any of my cars in the past. I went out one night with friends I was able to ride in an SUV with a decent set-up (from what I experienced) and that got me interested. I have a 30-40min ride to work each day and my OEM speakers are going out so I've been doing my research... From what I've read Fi subs have been given great reviews and the only complaints are due to the lead time on getting them. The set up (in my friend's SUV) that I liked was 2 10" JL w7s in a ported box on a 500w JL amp from what I was told. I prefer sound quality over loudness and won't be going crazy loud. im about to get a fi bl 12 and i was looking for a amp but im not sure for what amps are good. btw im new to car audio

I am going to build my box for the sub before it arrives but not complete it fully until I have made sure it fits etc. Now I need some help with the dimensions. I have this plan who someone sent to me and I am wondering if it should work pretty good. Base is 24depthx24heightx36width port is 5" wide and 27.25" long 22.5" height. Is this correct with 8cu ft box and 1.77 cu ft port? so 8cuft tuned to 32hz? any input? anything will be gladly appreciated.

Ok i am obviously looking into a FI subwoofer but am confused and having difficulty choosing which one i should get. I heard the BL has more output but the Q hits lower. I want to push my sub at around 1000 wrms. I have a pontiac grand prix and want something that is gonna rumble and turn heads but be able to put out power. The main thing i want to do is put my friends to shame who think their 10" audiobahn is the stuff. Please help me decided. I need opinions. Thanks !!

Hey there Scott or Nick. Today My 12" BTL that I purchased in late April started to smoke today. I have the subwoofer in a ported box around 3cuft to a Crunch GP3000D Pro. I was driving today and out of no where my subwoofer started to cut out and I thought that it was probably a wire coming loose or something so i just turned it down. Then I smell this awful burning smell and look back and the back seat of my car is being filled with a whitish smoke. I am assuming that somehow the voice coils burnt up. What would I need to do to have this fixed? A recone? And what does the FI warranty cover because I wasnt really pushing the subwoofer as hard as it could go. It was about…
