On the BTL/BL..etc.. The terminal posts are to accommodate size 12 gauge speaker wire, and if you want to run it from a 1ohm load in parallel. Then you would have to cut the amount of strands in half per wire, so basically you have 24AWG of each going into the terminals. Just seems small. Since my amp (2500RMS) has 0AWG inputs for power, and 4AWG for speaker wire hookups. Other subs with equal power handling I have seen have way larger terminals. Is there a reason to the small terminals? What do you guys do to ensure you able to put the most amount of power to the sub?

Alright, for the last year and a half iv been planning on getting the 10" SSD till recently i found a steal of a deal on craigslist for a 12"Q for 100 bucks duel 1.75 ohm coils Currently i have it in a ported box with 600W RMS running to it at 4 (3.5)ohms. My question is if i run it with both positives and negatives together insted of series and it turns into 1 (.87)Ohms will it be too much being alittle under 1 ohm load? if not then what would be a good amp to push it at 1 ohm 1000 RMS? My plan in the end is to get a sealed encloser with 1000 RMS @ 1 ohm since i like sealed better and getting a 1000RMS 4 ohm amp is expensive as hell.. thanks for helping an taking th…

  4. Might be getting a Chevy Avalanche at the end of the week... Planning a system for it since it will be my new daily ride. I know that I can fit 6 18s inside there, but the airspace is small. Would be around 2.8 sealed per sub, then I would polyfill the heck out of the inside of the box. That would get each sub seeing around 3.4 cubes roughly. They would be in a sideways clamshell, so that would help them load off each other. Think I could get away with this with any of the subs FI/AA makes? Maybe the SSD? Q? Chaos? Havoc?

  8. so i got my new bl in yesterday and when i turn it up it sounds like its bottoming out or something.. when i turn the bass up it starts to make like a fluttering sound or something... im running a hifonics brz 1700 with 0 guage in a 2.2 cube box at 34 hertz ... the only thing i think it could be is my battery, im dropping volts like crazy, so could that be the problem... idk if its bottoming out or just distorting really bad... i can post videos up if needed...

ok so today i was on my way home and my sub just quit working. i checked the ohms for the coils and its 1.25 . i checked the wire running from the box (there wired to one ohm). So i thought that it was ok. so i then checked the voltage of the speaker wiring coming from the amp and the volts were jumping up and down. so i then hooked up a ten and it played fine. So my question is what is wrong thanks for the help. my amp is sundown audio 2000d my sub is fi btl12 MY HEADUNIT IS pioneer avic n4

  15. Been out of the country for a little over a week and the web guys had questions I couldnt answer until today... most of the new BTL stuff is up now. Specs to be up late tomorrow as well. Note on pricing... while the "base" model pricing did go up, the equivalent pricing did not. Do to the significant increase motor cost for the new subs, and the additional motor strength... we are pricing them as the third magnet optioned subs were. While this will undoubtedly make some people mad, sorry. The new motor with the universal gaps and daily tolerences has more strength than the last one did in full SPL form with the third magnet... so you are still getting more for your …

Ok heres the deal. I have a 04 Crown Vic, front stage only no rear fill and the rear speakers removed from the deck. I have been seriously looking into getting a pair of Q 15s for the last few months but a few things have come up with the family that has side tracked me but Im on point now. I have a pair of Orion 1200d for power but heres my question. I see the new options for the Qs and was considering selling my Orions and picking up a Hifonics XX Thor. I also considered a pair of fully loaded BL 15s with the power I have but I just dont know. I am coming from a background of mainly sealed boxes and this would be my first in my own install. ( I have assisted and listen …

Hello, I plan to buy some subs from here. I have a 93 camaro. Im wanting a very loud system with decent SQ. Ive been told to just get 1 10 in a custom box on another forum, but was hoping an emloyee would help me more. I was planning on getting 1 BTL 10/12/15 but dont know which would be best given the room in a camaro trunk. I will be powering it with this http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...product_id=4200 And my friend who has I think 2 rockford fosgate t1 15's, dont know the amp powering them. In a chevy tahoe. He swears by rocford and im wanting a system that will be just as loud, if not louder then his.(least thats what im hoping for)

  19. I ordered an 18in Bl on 1/20/2013 using my dad's credit card and it sat there saying "awaiting payment" for a couple days now and I thought I put in some of the payment information wrong, so I reordered the sub using MY debit card. I've emailed Fi a few times and I just want to make sure that the first order doesn't get charged to my dad's card, I DO NOT WANT TWO SUBS!!!!! SOMEBODY FROM Fi PLEASE RESPOND.

The other day I whiped together a box for my Q10, 14x14x12, 3/4in mdf, comes out to around .9 cubes. I screwed up on one of the cuts so i just siliconed the chit out of it. So i have it in my truck now, pushed by 900 kenwood watts rms and there is a clicking noise coming from the sub. Not so noticeable on the lower notes or in rock songs, but it really makes me mad. I pushed on the sub, no scratchy sound, i put the coils on a DMM, both at .8 ohms. WTF! I also tried it free air a little and the noise is louder let. I read on another forum to check my spider for rub marks from tensel slap, and i couldn't find anything. Any ideas? Am i doing something wrong?

  22. Sorry everyone for not getting to spend much time on here this past week. We have been excessively busy at the shop, but I have simply hit the "not enough hours in the day" thing recently. Between Fi, Ascendant, and several new OEM projects I have been swamped. I finished up a some design and testing on the OEM front this week and will clear up one more sub system by the end of the weekend (or at least the latest iteration of it). Im hoping to be back on here in full force starting Monday next week. In the meantime... there have been a few things I wanted to do this month that I simply havent had the time too... Since this is our 1 year anniversary for Fi, I wanted to…

45 Bucks an hour on the Term Lab at a well known shop. They have won alot of the USACi comps... They leave me alone or come out with me and they will help me with settings and what not to decide what the best setup for me is for DD and then give me the settings for SPL comps. The guy I talked to(My friend used to go to him as well for SQ comps) said that we will be done in way less than an hour...but the extra time is nice to screw around with things.. Any thoughts on that? I thought it was a good deal

  25. Ok I've never put any sound in any of my cars in the past. I went out one night with friends I was able to ride in an SUV with a decent set-up (from what I experienced) and that got me interested. I have a 30-40min ride to work each day and my OEM speakers are going out so I've been doing my research... From what I've read Fi subs have been given great reviews and the only complaints are due to the lead time on getting them. The set up (in my friend's SUV) that I liked was 2 10" JL w7s in a ported box on a 500w JL amp from what I was told. I prefer sound quality over loudness and won't be going crazy loud. The thing I did like was the fact that I "felt" the bass but the c…
