Been a member since I ordered my 2 stock spec SSD 12's a couple of weeks ago. I have noticed most people tend to go for BL's and BTL's. So all you fellow SSD owners let's see what you got and how you like them. Pics and videos would be nice too! Info on spl numbers, what kinda box you're running, auto make and model, etc.... Anything you wanna share. Mine come tomorrow so I won't have them in the car for a couple of weeks while I run new power wire and build the box. Def taking some pics though. So show some Fi SSD love people! Let's put all these BL and BTL threads to shame!

I have 2 SSD 12"D2s, copper coils, wired in series for an 8 ohm load. I am using them in my house and have them wired as such to use with my Carver PM900 amp. The Carver amp is rated at 900 watts rms bridged and while bridged will not handle less than 8 ohms, hence the series wiring for the SSDs. THIS SETUP SOUNDS FANTASTIC, loud, clean, very tight. The Carver has a power limiting switch which I have enabled that prevents the amp from going into clipping so I am not concerned with that. The subs are in a sealed box with a partition between the drivers at about 1.5 cubes each. My question is with the subs/coils wired as such does that increase the power handling beyond the…

how much does the bp power option raise the rms on a 12" ssd?? would one need this option running 2 off a rf t10001bd 1633rms @ 1 ohm? what coil would be the best-regular, copper, or flat wind? daily driver (possibly a comp here n there for somethin to do but rarely), in trunk of an 00 impala, 2.5 cubes each tuned to around 38hz, i listen to most all music, lots of rap turned up loud, cuz its loud n low.

A while back I posted a topic about one of my subs having a softer suspension than the other and I knew this would happen because one was bought like several weeks before the other but figured eventually they both should level out to have the same stiffness of suspension but that isn't the case. After doing some testing last night a couple of buddies of mines who happens to be a serious competitors bought it to my attention and said it may cause somethings such as cancellation or something then again it may be nothing but you never know. Again I have bought this up to FI and said it would be fine and eventually level out but I am worried that one of the subs may have a be…

if you had the choice what would you take 2 12" ssd's getting 600 watts each or a 15" Q getting 1200 watts. Both would be in optimum enclosures tuned around 32HZ. I want it to be loud and be able to hit the lows and sound good while doing it.

Newly converted to FIcarudio products by xconcepts from caraudio i am wondering what is the min power requirement for the SSD's i will be replacing a pair JL Audio 10w3v2's in a sealed enlosure of 0.625 which are both being powered by a JL Audio 500/1 , and being unfermiliar with the FIcarudio subs , i'm wondering will a pair of 10 "SSD's work properly being connected and boxed the same way ?? The Jl's were rated 300 W each , will the amp be sufficient for these two SSD's to perform properly ? i,m also thinking flat wind and copper , is it a good idea to add these two add ons with this amp and enclosure set up .? Will also be adding a pair of 10 " 2 ohm BL's each connecte…

What would you all recommend for my low pass filter setting for a 12" SSD w/ CC in a sealed 1.5 cubic box. Yes I know it's a big box but I usually prefer the sound of bigger sealed boxes. Also is there a method for checking that the crossover setting you see on an amp is the actual one that is being output by the amp? I thought using the DMM method and seeing the voltage would work but it didn't tell me anything. I played a 50hz tone and moved the LPF around and all my measurements did was the increase in voltage as I lowered the frequency and vice versa. I thought when I hit 50hz on the dial and below that it would flatline in voltage, but it kept increasing as I l…

whatup folks i was hoping someone can help me i just looked into the fi website and found the ssd12's. whats confusing me is the different options. here is my setup alpine cd/mp3, audiocontrol3.1, audiocontrol overdrive, and us amps400 rated 1200-1400@2ohms. here is the question can a pair of ssd 12's handle this without costly mods? i am not a competitor but i do like to pound sometimes without fear. i really want those ssd's but i dont want to spend 400 dollars just to have to spend nearly 200 more just to get mods. this is not a daily driver so it they wont be abused. i listen to everything from sade to tool to miles davis. they will be in the trunk of a 74 mercedes a…

Whats with people always bashin on sealed boxes, when subs like SSDs and RE SEs do so well in them for daily pounders? Its seems people are so narrow minded and think the ONLY thing that is important about the box that if its ported or not. These people need to hear some loud sealed groundpounders!

recently added a new car to the family and i am looking a new install. i am currently running a 15" aa ava. off of a hifonics bx1000. i have been very happy with both of my products from aa, and seeing as how you guys are going to be responsible for their new lineup you would be the best source of information. long story short, i am looking for a sub or subs that come the closest to the sound capabilities of the ava. be it from the fi lineup or the aa lineup it really doesnt matter. the subs will be going in the gf's 05 grand am. she likes the "low rumbly bass" but also wants it "kinda loud." have a gross of 5 cuft to work with and say no more than 1500 watts for power. h…
