This kid claimed to do 139.9db which I don't mind...he was running 2 12" MTX 5500 subs, with a kenwood amp. Next thing I noticed is that he had a sticker on his back glass that says "135db+ at the head rest". I was like why dont you meter it at the dash, he was like if I do that I will hit 145db, and when I do the db comp I dont burp because it would kill the competition. Thats what he told me.... Those subs was in a pre-fab box probably 1cuft per sub ported.... Then I let my system wang for a little bit, lets say the people on the other side of the parking lot managed their way over to my car to see what that noise was or where it was coming from. They thought it wa…

If you read my other posts, you pretty much know what I want. I am doing a blowthrough in the bed of my truck. To save some room, I am debating on doing either 2 15" BTL's or 4 12" subs. I know no matter what I do I am gonna need an upgrade electrical wise. I have already decided on a 300 amp alt no matter what I do (wanting to be extra safe) and big 3. Here is where the question kicks in. If I do 4 12" BTL's, how much more ($$$$ wise) would this costs in upgrades (batteries, etc) than if I did say 4 12" Q's/BL's or 2 15" BTL's???? Also, SORRY 4 BEING A PAIN, but does anyone know if Hifonics amps are good, mainly looking at the Brutus at the moment. Not bad price, …

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums here; first post. Let's see, I have a 1986 Camaro Iroc. I'm building a box to fit in the well of the hatch(if anyone is familiar with these cars). I do not think I have room for a ported box, the design for the box yields a little over two cubic feet. So basically I just need help on what subs to buy. I've heard, and it seems like, that Fi is a quality brand so I'm pretty sure I want to go with them. Anyway, I'm looking between two SSD12s or one Q15. I have had two DB Crossfire 10s before and one 15" solobaric Kicker L5 in my car before. When I bought this car I had to get rid of the Kicker in order to be able to store the t tops. The K…

First off I should say this is a great site, especially having the manufacture forums. Back early on in high school I was in a friends regular cab truck, with what I later learned was 500 watts going to the subs, and I guess you could say it left a footprint in my mind about car audio. Scroll ahead to me being 23 now and after spending a couple years in performance and looks category I have started to piece together my first car audio setup. I have been trying to learn as much as I can for what seems to be close to a year now, I know some of you must be thinking 'what's with all the wait?' I have learned with especially performance it is not always the best of things jus…

How much do they weight, the weight for the 10" shipped from ups says the package is 32lbs, how much of that is the BL and how much is packaging? I am wondering because I planned on inverting my BL and I am hoping it wont be so heavy that it flips the box over. I am putting it in a 1.2 cuft box, I cant remember hox much it weights but it cant be more than 45 to 50 lbs. I plan on buying another BL, I am having a dual 10" box built for the 2 so I hope the combined weight of the 2 will not be too much for a 2 cuft MDF box to handle inverted.

so im at the am/pm pulling out of the parking lot and some guy is egging me on to bump my chit......i dont know him and i dont have anything Que'd up (watchin TV) so with traffic backin up i had to bail. So i end up at the Shell station to get me some gas and before i know it, its a sideshow.....some guy heard me rumble by a few months back and came up and introduced himself to me and wanted to see it. So i show him and its cool, then someone else sees the back open and wants to check it out so he pulls over. So the nice guy i am, i decide to pull up and let him actually hear it from inside instead of across the street from Hollywood Video. You know me, i had to make som…

Ok heres the deal. I have a 04 Crown Vic, front stage only no rear fill and the rear speakers removed from the deck. I have been seriously looking into getting a pair of Q 15s for the last few months but a few things have come up with the family that has side tracked me but Im on point now. I have a pair of Orion 1200d for power but heres my question. I see the new options for the Qs and was considering selling my Orions and picking up a Hifonics XX Thor. I also considered a pair of fully loaded BL 15s with the power I have but I just dont know. I am coming from a background of mainly sealed boxes and this would be my first in my own install. ( I have assisted and listen …

I know this is a car audio forum so please excuse the HT question. I tried to get an answer out on the main forum but I wasn't getting any responses. I've heard great things about Fi and want to get a pair of 18s for my HT setup. I was told over on the Cult that some tweaks can be made to make the drivers IB friendly. So, the question I have is, what diffence could I expect between the SSD series and the Q series? I expect it to be loud, but I'm looking to hit the bottom octave with some authority. Opinions?

Hey Scott, Are the specs the same on my subwoofer, power handling wise? Is it still 1000 rms or is it more now? I'm trying to figure out the right voltage so I can set the gains on my amp with my DMM. Oh and the shirt is awesome, thanks alot for the shirt and the stickers.
