Here is my install of 4 Fi X12's. Not any pics ome building the box, I was kinda in a hury but I have the finished product. Installed in a 1990 GMC Sierra ext cab long box, KnuKonseptz 1/0 gauge wire from batt to dis block, 4 gauge from dis block to amp. All 8 gauge inside sub box (I know, it's over kill.), Box is 8.2 cu ft after all displacements, port is 6.5"x16.5"x19.5" deep, tuned to 33 hertz. I will be installing Pioneer 6x9's and a Kenwood amp that I have. The head unit is Kenwwod. The amp is Power Acoustiks "4000.1". All stock speakers for now.

I have a crew cab titan, and with using glass/wood I can get around 2.5ft^3 or two 1.24ft^3 boxes... sealed would be easiest... but the subs would cost more... and I love the sound of ported boxes ... but it would likely go lower and higher and have just generally better sq... 2 BL 10"s ported... would be nice but I don't know exactly how much space I'd have after sub/port displacment and if the internal shape of the box would affect the performance alot to where it's as bad as a sealed box... I'm on the wall here and can't figure which way to go.. I suppose I could do the BL's 1st since it would be cheaper lol... and if I wasn't happy do the Qs later.. but if I weren'…

Hello, I have a PT cruiser and I am looking at the Q12s or Q15s (4 of each) I have the back seats removed and have about 17.875 cuft to work with, the box would be: WIDTH is 39 in. HEIGHT is 24 in. DEPTH is 33 in. Would there be enough room in that box for (4) Q15s sealed? Maybe able to add 2 more inches to the Depth! I will running about 1500 watts rms to each subwoofer, will the Q12s or 15s without the power opt. handle that much power in a sealed box? thanks.....Brian

This is somewhat of an extension of my other thread.... I decided to sell my Q15's to buy a pair of BTL's, but that would required alot more upgrades to my system (batts, alts, and bears oh my) This morning, while I was sippin on my coffee, I was thinking that I could ADD 2 more Q15's and an amp running around 4k-5k watts and keep it sealed. Yes, it would still put more stress on my electrical system, but I am more equiped to handle that ATM. I have dual batts and a 140 amp alt and lots and lots of 0awg. I also like the sound of the Q's sealed. They are so damn authoritive down low in a sealed sealed application. All my high scores are in the 35-38hz range, which I l…

Hello everyone, ok Im planning on ordering 4 Q15s for my pt cruiser, it will be a single sealed box with 2 subs facing up and 2 subs facing foward, how does this setup sound? Will it effect sound quality or overall output, also there be 2 seperate chambers with 2 subs in each chamber, or should I go for 1 chamber for each sub? thanks..........Brian

Edit: The option is up on the site. It is an extra $50 to go to the 4" coil. Brings RMS power handling up to 1500W per sub. We were sitting on this one until after the new year, but have decided to release it now given the amount of inquiries we have had regarding 4" coiled subs. We will be adding a 4" coil option to the BL Series by the end of the week. This allows for more thermal capacity over the standard 3" coil. Spec wise it does change things some, but enclosure recommendations will remain the same. In testing (about 9 months back and again last week) we saw some solid gains in the mid band with similar output near tuning to the 3" coiled version. The midban…

So my budd is worried about his electrical in his 2000 Toyota 4Runner and wonders if he needs to upgrade his Alternator and/or battery. He's running I think a yellow top under the hood, and we'll be running an AQ1200D on my 18 soon enough. Thanks guys

I decided to change my set-up. I want to build a forth order bandpass for my two FI SSD 12"s. I think they are the 2008 model. I am putting in my 1995 Impala SS. I plan on porting it through the back deck. Can anyone help me with the numbers I need. Such as the air space volume for the sealed and ported areas. Also for the port (@ 35 hz). I wanted the box to be tuned to 35 hz. I'm trying to get the MOST out of these subs but with All the sound pushed into the cab and not rattling everything aound in my trunk By the way I will be powering them with a Audiopipe AP18001. And if anyone has done any thing similar in my same type car please post pics. Thanks in advance!…

Ok guys...I'm getting really close to making some things happen and I wanted to know if 6 SSD 18's sealed in the Cargo area of my Tahoe would rock.......I thinking 2 cubes each? I probably need Nick or Shawn on this one. Each sub is gonna get 1200-1500 watts rms if that helps. I'm also gonna have 3 alts and 5 batts so electrical should be ok....Let me know what you think......GO FI AUDIO GO!!

Going over yet another system design...6 x 15's in a wall.....have a couple ideas....thanks to Shawn Flemming...that could work pretty well :-) just trying to get some opinions on both 1 - subs facing forward (would be staggered to fit the height requirement) with the port in the middle 2 - subs firing towards each other, staggered with the port in the middle - basically a ported clamshell there would be 3 subs on each side

as stated, I'm between these two subs. the r is rated @ 750 rms, and the bl is 1000 rms + whatever the flatwind coil and cooling adds. I'd love to get the bl15 cause I hear it absolutely pounds, but I'm scared my amp wont do it justice. Whats my best option? im open to any brand/size of subs too, looking to spend up to $275-300 thanks

So I get this e-mail saying the status of the order I placed on Nov-30 has changed. The item has shipped. Pretty fhawking cool I thought, and went on my merry way. I figured it'd come some time after X-mas. Later in the day, I was out in the garage getting ready to do an oil change when the FedEx truck pulls up. WTF!? Sho nuff, the delivery man drops this off: No way, I just got the email, I thought to myself... Well I guess the automated Fi customer update system is still set to BTL UFO order fulfillment schedule. On a side note it looks like FedEx is on a roll with punching holes in the sides of boxes. Spoiler Alert! Everything checked out fine. On to the pic…

Hi. im installing 2 SSDs to a Kicker Zx2500. Its a stock 120A alt in a Ford Fusion. I have a Kinetik Hc1400 that will be in the trunk. My first Question is will I need to have 2 runs(Power/ground) of 0 gauge from the stock battery to the Kinetik? Or can I just run 1 power between both batteries and ground the kinetik to the car? Also I have a Kicker zx650.4 for the doors and I would like to put Phoenix Gold RSD-6.5CS. MY stock speakers are 5.25s. Would this be too much work or should I just buy the RSDs in 5.25? Also can anyone refer me to a nice pair of 2 way speakers that I could put in the rear doors? I listen to mostly hip-hop/rock. Any input is great because I r…

So, never owning a car in my life, I am getting my first one very soon....big change from trucks and SUVs. I love SPL and am not entirly sure what to do. I was planning on either doing 2 12" Q's ported or 1 12" BTL ported, this is gonna have to be a tough decision for myself. If you have an opinion on what you would prefer, go ahead, be nice to know what other people think. But here is what I need to know also, which way should the subs and port face? They will be going in the trunk of course. Is it correct in saying that the bigger the box is, the smaller the ports need to be and vice versa or no? Just heard this the other day. Any advice at all as well as the an…
