ok, i got my two 18" BLs in a box i built, designed by TTB. this box is like 10cf gross. it is small. i am sorta dissapointed. need a bigger box. i would like subs up and port back tuned to 32-34hz. my desired outside deminsions are 42.5 wide x 24 tall x 28 deep. i will add the top double baffle making it just under 25" tall. can anyone help with this? email - [email protected]

  5. This is my basic wiring diagram for my pair of D2 10" Q's. I have a dual chamber box w/t .60 cuft in each chamber. Since the terminals are on the left and right side of the subs and I have to connect the subs in both chambers (run wires thru commom middle wall and seal with silicone).............I was wondering is it OK to let the wires just hang free in the box or maybe secure them so they don't just flop around???? I noticed there are little tabs on the baskets, both on the top and bottom. Would it be alright to zip strip the +/- DVC connecting wire that will go over the top of the subs basket to that tab? Or should I just let it free hang?????? Just want to do it righ…

Got the box built today for the 2 BTL 18s, went over to a friends house it is 12 cubes @34hz with 150sq in port, Hifonics XX Goliath @ .7 ohms It Beats:D ... hard ran into a problem, one of the wires came undone and i couldnt figure out what happened, we didnt think anything was wrong at first, it was still crazy loud, but got everything fixed now box weighs a ton, top baffle is 3 layers thick, and the sub is flush mounted in some pics during the box build and some bad night shots the tools and speakers along for the ride Final Turnout: Since i fixed it, i havnt even went on it yet, only to about avg listening volume, got a good bit to go tomorrow :up2somet: neighbors…

I hate to bring up a vs. thread, but this one seems reasonable. If you read my thread in the subwoofer section, you know my deal. Basically i want to upgrade from an avalanche and I think i have decided on either the Fi Q or BL. Both will be receiving 1200 watts and be put in a 3.5 @ 30hz enclosure. From my other thread, i learned that the Q will probably work better in my box, but the BL will be louder in the end. I will probably build a new box come summer time better suited to whichever sub i get and to my car (hatchback=sub up). Both subs are the same price...i won't be putting options on either...so i am pretty torn. I have researched and found people to say the Q …

  11. I have a crew cab titan, and with using glass/wood I can get around 2.5ft^3 or two 1.24ft^3 boxes... sealed would be easiest... but the subs would cost more... and I love the sound of ported boxes ... but it would likely go lower and higher and have just generally better sq... 2 BL 10"s ported... would be nice but I don't know exactly how much space I'd have after sub/port displacment and if the internal shape of the box would affect the performance alot to where it's as bad as a sealed box... I'm on the wall here and can't figure which way to go.. I suppose I could do the BL's 1st since it would be cheaper lol... and if I wasn't happy do the Qs later.. but if I weren'…

Hey guys, Since I will be recieving my 15" SSD + flatwind pretty soon, I figured I would make an enclosure this weekend. It is 35x15.5x21, 3.5 Cuft tuned to 33hz. It was a 2 day, 5 total hour job, but not bad for a 16 year old making my first ported box. And now the pics: Day 1 Various angles of box all put together, screwed, and cauked. http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/593/sub...erbox063oi0.jpg http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/2065/su...erbox065jl1.jpg http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/754/sub...erbox064bt2.jpg http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/4791/su...erbox067qi5.jpg http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/8339/su...erbox067zj5.jpg Day 2 Carpeting Sides: http://…

ok I hate to sound like a noob but I've never delt with restricted space and a sealed box before so the box I've had built for my 03 silverado ex cab is for 2 10's firing forward under rear seat it has a total of 2.4 cu. ft. so after displacement wich is 0.12, cu. inches per that should give me about 1.08 cu.ft of airspace per sub right. The box was originaly going to have 2 RE se 10's but have since decided to try the ssd's since they have similar specs and recomended airspace, and I dont want to F*** up so thanks in advance for any help

OK, so i've had 2 hifonics bxi2006ds for my 2 btls, but I've been wanting more power. I just purchased one of the bxi's not too long ago, and I take real good care of my stuff so my bro bought it for almost what I paid. To replace it I just purchased a SoundStream 10000d from another member of this forum. I was thinking I'll just go buy another one to match, but I'm considering waiting for the 2nd amp to do side-by-side comparison of different amps that claim to put out a lot of power. I want to put 4-5kwatts per btl for daily and maybe a few comps, but mainly just groud-pounding, so one amp per sub. Whatever I find to be the best sound/spl combo I'll get 2 of. As I do th…

In order to get a ported box just perfect could you just punch in your cubic feet what you are needing in your box, then get the port dimensions and figure up the displacement of this inside of your box and add in sub woofer displacement. After I add these up could I enter my Height, Top and Bottom depth, then using my length as my variable to figure up how many cubic feet I need? In other words say that I have a sub woofer that has a displacement of .11. Then i figure up a port that would displace .2 cubic feet in a box. I'm needing 1.2 cubic feet after sub and port displacement. So the box should be 1.31 cubic feet inside? Here are my two designs http://img.photobucket.…

Ok Ive been designing my new system Ill be putting in this summer and for the amp I have chosen the Rockford Power T10001Bd to power a Fi Audio BL 15 and build a nice large ported box tuned low for it, but then I got bored and looked at the SSD 15 and saw it required less cu. ft. for a ported box and I could fit 2 of those 15s ported but would have to build seperate boxes for them because my trunk aint that big too put one big box in at once and I dont want to partialy build the box and have to finish it in the trunk, but another thing I dont know the final load of 2 Dual 1ohm subs are and if it did have a 1ohm load shuldnt the T10001Bd amp have enough power for both of t…
