I haven't been able to personally see a FI dust cap, but is there a way to change the color to something not offered by FI? Is it possible to just take some paint and paint over the white version with the color I want?

I JUST RECEIVED MY ib3 12 sub which looks better than imagined and alot heavier too!! i read that its 550@20hz. i was looking into getting an alpine pdx 5 for my car wich is 350 rms at 2 ohms. does wattage affect output in a free air sub? does the 550 @ 20hz mean i shouldnt give it more than 550 or would 550 be the minimum power. i dunno, its a bit confusing. some help on this would be appreciated im not much of a noob in the audio world so scientific explanations are welcomed! haha

I've had a number of people make comments here recently that there are "Others" that "Make speakers in the states"..and it does not take them anywhere near as long as it does us.... Well..they do drop soft parts in the motors, however all of the motors are machined and pre-built (sometimes even pre magnetized) in China..and they get Chinese soft parts dropped into them with an American coil. There are no worth while viable options that can be put in here or any way of giving you a choice to have things how they should be for your installation. If you do not need a dual magneto setup for your top fuel funny car, but just a regular single pro mag..then only pay for the regu…

I have a 10" FI Q and a Audioque AQ1200 amp. The amp is a mono but it has 2 speaker terminals. How should it be hooked up?? The sub is a Dual 2 ohm, wired to 1 ohm. The way I have it hooked up right now is 1 positive wire going to the positive connector on terminal 1 and the negative wire going to the negative on terminal 2. Is this correct?? Finally got my 2011 SSD and installed it today. It's making a loud "popping" noise when it plays. I thought it might be because it wasn't sealing against the box right, but after several hours and a bead of silicon around the mounting ring, the pop is still there in full force. In person it sounds more like a metallic slapping than what the video shows (The last two hits in the video sound more realistic at the very end) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Egh_QLqf4ug Ideas?

I ordered my 12" X series sub July 15th. It says on the website it will take 3-7 business days to build, then it will be shipped. Today is the 21st business day! I emailed a while ago and received a reply on Aug 4th that the subs are currently taking 10-15 days to build and that my sub should be shipped out by the 5th. I emailed again on the 10th when I still hadn't gotten an update on my shipping notice and still haven't gotten a reply back. What is going on? If you are having problems and need to revise the ship dates, at least let your customers know. Me having to make a post and ask isn't very good business.

Sad that the windshield imploded before I could get a full burp out of it and show what it can really do maybe next time. So far I have had a IASCA and now a USACi SQ judge say they have never heard music so loud and so clean. Makes me smile all this hard work and tweeking is coming around. Hello forum. I have an FI Q sub which i have received on 7/15/2011. I finally got it professionally installed on 7/26/2011 by my local audio shop a few days after receiving my Audioque AQ1200 amp. It was playing fine until after about 5 hours of play time. The only extra option it has is the cooling package. I hear a weird rattling noise comming from the sub itself. I thought at first maybe it was my car rattling, or the box, but then i took the sub out and played it in free air for a few seconds and came to the conclusion that it was the sub. it sounds almost as if your hitting the dust cap with ur knuckles or the license plate is vibrating. other than that, the …

I am wanting to replace my L7 10" in my 23ft Malibu boat. I have been running the L7 in a small sealed enclosure for most of the summer and been relatively happy. However I have been wanting more. I replaced the sealed box with a 1.6 cu slot ported box and gained a bit, but still I am wanting more. Issue in the boat is no cabin gain obviously and limited space for an enclosure. So this brings me to my question. Which 12" sub in the Fi lineup would be a good contender in the wide open environment that is a boat? I would like to keep the power requirements realistic. My current sub is powered off a MMATS 600.1 just for reference. Thanks for any advice.

i have kept in contact with FI about my sub and so far i have been receiving prompt emails. the last email i sent was about 2 and a haf weeks ago, and was told they were waiting on the steel but they should have received it within 2 days. i figured since i ordered a shirt and some decals that may be the issue? i decided to post on here incase there are other users still waiting. please dont take this as a bad review towards your customer service because i am content with the prompt email responses. i just like keeping in touch, so i wont end up waiting 10 months like other users due to miscommunication

so i got my new bl in yesterday and when i turn it up it sounds like its bottoming out or something.. when i turn the bass up it starts to make like a fluttering sound or something... im running a hifonics brz 1700 with 0 guage in a 2.2 cube box at 34 hertz ... the only thing i think it could be is my battery, im dropping volts like crazy, so could that be the problem... idk if its bottoming out or just distorting really bad... i can post videos up if needed...

Just got the new Fi BTL n2 18", opened it up, its a 18" and its an N2 I know, but looking at my old one which I got in March 2011, this one only has 3 circular holes for "cooling". My old one has 12 square openings for the cooling. The basket is also a bit different I believe, Can somebody help me out? Im just wondering if this BTL n2 has cooling or not. Thank you. Im new to the site, currently have 2 12" pioneer champ series pro running off a cpt1-3200d power acoustik amp. 0 gauge stinger wire with all pioneer 5way door speakers + pioneer 3200dvd head unit. I know im going to need to upgrade my alt. and buy an capacitor as well. Im lookin to buy either one 15btl or 18btl to throw in with these 12s or 2 15s to replace them. Just looking for any good ideas on what sub to get, not worried about the $ either so let me know! thanks

Wat up! I just bought two fully loaded BL 15s.the new version with 4" coils.they are dual 1. I was giving them some free air at around 20-25 hrtz on my sundown 1500d for aBout 10 mins at the most.they BARELY got a Lil warm.nothing bad tho.volume just under half way with the bass knob about half gain.just trying to loosen up the spiders and break in the suspension.they are soooo incrediblly stiff lol but on one of them, as I was pushing up and down on the cone,I see a tiny quarter inch tear in the middle of the spider.was soo bummed..does this need to be re coned or Wat?like i said It's brand spanking new,and it still sounds great and bumps hard,doesn't make any weird noi…

Got some of the recone glue for a 12" Q Got the 60oz (have some other subs to do too) My question is, what is the mix ratio? I'd assume that its 2:1 (Black:clear) Just don't want to mess it up. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.
