hey guys i have a new RF t1000bdcp amp that i have hooked up to my fi bl. i have the dual 1 and have it wired to 2 ohms. i have my gain about 3/4 the way on amp because my h/u preout volts are 2.2v. After i play my music for about 20-30 minutes at about 3/4 volume my amp will get extremely hot iv had people burn there arms on it when they set it on it cuz its on my sackseat and its folded down. I was wondering why my amp is getting so hot its crazy. is it because i need a new h/u with 4v preouts or could it be something else and what? i have no bass boost or anything on on amp or h/u.

Hey guys wanting to buy the 12" N2 looks bad ass. Just need some help with the box. Could somebody please give me some complete specs for the reccomened size the box should be. I am going to get a friend to build it lol. Thanks guys for any help. Rock on guys

Hello everyone, pretty new to the forum but not a complete noob in car audio. I just had a q 12 installed in my EXT cab f150 hooked up to a hifonics brz17001.d. Unfortunately the brz is a faulty amp(not surprising) but in the process of getting a replacement. My question is to balance out my sound stage I am going to be putting in 4 new infinity kappa 5x7s(not set on them open to suggestions around the same price) and was hoping to throw a pair of tweeters in too. I was wondering should i go with a 4, 5, or 6 channel amp. I understand that if I want control of the fade and balance I need a 4 channel for the door speakers. Hello Fi, A friend of mine has a pro audio set up, and needs to know if it is possible to have recone kits for some Aura subs. They use Neodymium (?) . He loves how they sounds, they play low and loud ! I can show you pics of the drivers when he send them to me. He has several ones to recone, they are very old ! These speakers won't go in a car, just in big boxes for live events. thanks

ok i got my fi btl n3 in finally got the box built for them and hooked them in my car ... and to my surprise they play music just fine.... the box for two twelves is 7,2 cubic feet after displacement 6.8 and tuned to 38 hertz and sounds damn good and not even broken in yet so everyone who said they would sound like sh$t U WERE Wrong thanks , please no negative comments i posted this for other people considering to buy these who have worries like i did that it wouldnt play music and to answer another question i have the 7 spiders on it so 5 probally be alot more musical thats my two cence..

Hello everyone. I'm in the process of building a small budget system and I want to get the Fi X 12" as my sub in a sealed enclosure. It will get power from Crescendo 1000C4(~500W bridged). I know that the recommended enclosure size ranges from 0.6-1.1 cuft but I don't know if I should go with a larger(1.158 cu ft.) sealed box or a smaller one(0.749 cu ft.). I listen to dubstep, rap(eminem) and rock. I want the sub to have good amount of output and produce good lows. So I was on my way to work this morning and saw a dude in a lancer with some fi stickers and a sundown sticker. Might you be on SSA?! Otherwise I live in Keller Tx, home of everyone with an alpine type r, or wants an alpine type r. lol... Speaking of... Just recently had a owner of two 12" type r's ride in my mazda 6 (3.5 cubed box @ 33hz 15" fi ssd running 1k rms). He pretty much was "not impressed" bahahhaa. He said mine was crystal clear, but not very loud. The only thing I have going against me is my sub is pointing straight up at a panel, until I can get a box that fits. I did not plan my build properly at the time B-). Anywho, random post, but was just curious!

I have a 12" bl and today I am pretty sure I blew the voice coils on it. I was driving around and the sub cutout and I opened the back of my jeep to see that there was smoke coming out of the port. I know for sure that I had everything wired right and i didn't even have the gain up that high( a little over half). I am going to re-cone it but I was wondering if anyone knows what could have caused this so I don't blow the new I get. Thanks

I have money to order a Sub finally. I always seen videos of people fi btls breaking every part of their car. My friend has a JL audio w7 2x 12". Im looking to go bigger and better. Although upon purchasing a FI BTL , there are so many types and ' add-ons +$'. I dont know what to get I want 1x Fi Btl 15" in a 2002 Ford Taurus SES. Anyhelp? What amp? Anything?

Just out of curiosity, what is the operating temperature of the magnets in the BTL N2. I'm sure Fi researched this, but I was just curious. From what I can gather, the operating temperature for ferrite magnets is around 300*C, but the operating temperatures for neodymium magnets is quite lower (source). What grade exactly is the magnets used in the N2? As in, is there a letter following the "N48"? I don't know exactly how hot the magnets get, but I read that voice coils can exceed 150*C. Thanks!

Okay I am planning on getting a new substage setup in the summer because right now im just a poor college student lol. Anyways I have had a fi btl 12 before and loved it but now I know I want an 18 for sure and I have contacted argent audio and an 18 will fit with aero ports so my question is should I get another btl or the Q. I loved my old btl but honestly sometimes it was just to loud and I have heard great things about tthe Q. I have never heard a sound quility sub in car auido before though. my friend has a RF T2 15 2010 model, and my other friend has a JL w7 13, and im going to be a proud owner of the FI BL 15 fully loaded... we were wondering which would be a good quality all around sounding woofer? i prefur FI but i would like to get more opinions on this topic...

So I had an 18" SSD in my jeep and it was pretty darn loud. I recently took it out because of some water damage to its box and now I'm not driving the jeep anymore. Instead I'm driving a smaller ford focus. I'm highly doubting i could fit the SSD into the ford focus, so I was thinking maybe a pair of 12s. Compared to the SSD, how does the X sound ? I'm mainly talking SPL here, cause I'm sure the X still has great SQ. And i know, dependent on box etc, blah blah. I'm talking straight up though. Will it seem like a major downgrade in SPL ?

ok i just got my fi btl n3 today been waiting a month for them they look like something from outer space i was inspecting them and i see some metal shavings around the magnets dont look 100 percent centered and the glue that was applied some parts are black then turn white is this normal quality control?

I recently purchased a re cone kit and a CA glue kit. I am wondering if this shipped by default or do you expect me to ship the sub in? I verified the money was transferred from paypal, but I never recieved any type of confirmation for my order besides the default email. Has this shipped? Is there any way for the customer to check on the process and see the status of order? The order total was 136.20, and I have the paypal transaction ID if needed. I do not see a order number on the comfirmation email. It was purchased March 17th. RE SE recone was the order (15"). I have not recieved a UPS tracking number or any other email since the initial purchase. Thanks for any help …

I got my BTL 18 yesterday!! Funny thing is, I never got a tracking number.. As a matter of fact, I checked the invoice page on Fi's website yesterday morning and it still said "Your order is being processed." It still says that now that I've got it haha. Pictures coming up later today! If I wasn't at school I'd put em up right now. So to all people waiting for their Fi sub, don't be too discouraged. It could be at your doorstep when you get home today!
