Finally got my 2011 SSD and installed it today. It's making a loud "popping" noise when it plays. I thought it might be because it wasn't sealing against the box right, but after several hours and a bead of silicon around the mounting ring, the pop is still there in full force. In person it sounds more like a metallic slapping than what the video shows (The last two hits in the video sound more realistic at the very end) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Egh_QLqf4ug Ideas?

Hey guys, my BL came in today and i hooked everything up. Im using a 4.97ft^3 box tuned at 29 hz, and also an orion xtr 1000. Everything sounds fine, i just want to make sure how to play it in order to break it in properly. I did crank it up for a few seconds to see how insane it is and my ears are still hurting, which led to a blown fuse in my distribution block, which was a 60A(please comment on that) The dust cap also gets pretty warm but not hot, im not sure if thats normal. I will also admit that i am a complete idiot and should be shot becasue i drilled a hole through the rubber surrounding, i found out later that the holes were not lined up on the rubber surroun…

Should I be taking it easy on my 2 brand new Bl's until they break in a little or does that not matter? My old setup seems like it put out more spl and it was less power. These do sound good I just need to tweak the settings more then before.I was running 2 RF T0 12's with 1000bdcp,Now I have the 2 fully loaded BL 12's dual 2 wired to 2 ohms at the 1500bdcp. If I bump the BL's like I was bumping my old subs is it going to hurt them since there stiff as shit? I don't wanna screw myself out of some new subs I just spent $800 on.

are they specific break-in instruction for the SSD? What is the procedure. Will they come with the woofer ? In the reviews i noticed they sound better over time. Is this typical as things start to loosen up and get moving?

OK so the other day I was showing off my BTL to some friends. Gain is set correctly with dmm, and about 10 seconds in to a song the sub makes a weird noise and then freezes. Well I am thinking I fried the sub and Ill need a recone kit, which made me upset to start with because I only gave it like 2400wrms. Well I take the sub out of the box and what do i find? Not a burnt coil. But a broken magnet on the motor. The magnet is litterally cracked and pushed in and caused the coil to scratch and get stuck. What would cause this? And how can I get it fixed. This sub was never abused.

  11. Ok heres the story, my back window had major bubbles and i dont know why, its been perfect for 10 years. Well i got tired of it, plus when the sun gets in just a little you can totally see the ugly rear of the wall which is fairly "raw" . Sorta embarrassing to roll my honda out, hella slammin, tuckin 18's..........but the worlds ugliest tint and behind it a raw backside of a wall. Well today, i broke my back glass out for the glass guy and it only took one sub! Can you believe it! heres the vid: dPApRN97WRs

I got my sub last tuesday and it looks great. Today I finished my box and wiring up the sub when I found one set of the terminals was broken. It looks like someone tighten it to much and pulled the screw out. I included a pic of the problem. If I can get a new one I can put it on and solder it myself. Thanx for the help.

Got my eye on a BL 15 on Craigslist. Guy tells me the plastic piece that holds the sub terminals in place is broken.. Seems like an easy super glue/silicone fix but I'm worried what may have caused it.. He didn't seem to think it was a problem as if he has been running it just hanging there. I wouldn't think you would want those hanging? What do you guys think about that? Is it an easy fix? Would you purchase this sub? Pics look perfect but he mentioned the prob which has no pic. He's asking $200 for the sub

  17. Alright so about a year ago a tinsel lead burned up on my 12" Q and so i just took it into a local audio shop and they said that the company up in minneapolis that they go through would fix it for 70 bucks and if it ever f'd up again they would fix it for free...i got it fixed and then it sat for like 9 months ....took it out when i got a new car in may and last week it happened again but this time it burned a hole in my spider and this gay company claims that there is only a 90 day warranty on repairs so now im f'd....even though it is completely their fault and they did shatty work on it in the first place....so my question is how much is it going to cost for fi to fix…

So yesterday I finally got around to making a new box for my 12'' Fi Q D2. The box came out great, but when I went to put the Q in I noticed one of the tinsel leads was broken at the end where it connects to the terminal. I'm not sure how or when it happened. The gain on my amp (US amps XT4000D, 1500rms @ 1 ohm) is set about half way up and the bass boost is off. My question is what can I do about this? repair it? send it back for repair? Any help is appreciated, thanks

Not sure if this is the right place for this, i apologize if it gets moved. So my concern is if sub-zero temperatures have any effect on subwoofers or their electrical counterparts. I know it seems stupid but i want to make sure i don't harm anything. I'll be attending michigan technological university in the upper peninsula of michigan next year where its not un-common for temperatures to reach below zero in the winter. IS there anyway that prolonged exposure to those sort of temperatures could hurt my btl? or my sundown amp? thanks

how much of a difference is there for output from a 12"btl to a 18",, i have a bl15 fully loaded and shes getting 900 rms, im debating on getting a btl and sell my bl15 but it would cost a lot to buy the btl and get a huge amp for it. should i just buy a bigger amp for my bl or get the btl, if the btl is really that good it ill save up and get it what yall think thanks.
