General Fi

Hi, I'm looking at picking up a Sundown Audio SAX-1200D to match it up with a single Fi Q 12" with plans to run a ported setup. Being new to car audio my question is, will these two work together? Everything I've read seems to put these as a perfect match up. For options on the speaker I'm assuming it will need Dual 2 Ohm and cooling options. Is the option for an extra "spider" needed? I'll be ordering the amp in the morning, should you guys give the OK, as there is an amazing deal on one of the internet retailers. Thanks for the help.

i didnt know that Fi and Ascendant Audio were even related comapnies... what are the differences in the drivers you designed for each company and why both?? also which came first? i find it very interesting that i just now found this out, when ever since i got big into car audio, Fi has been my favorite company by far.

Really want an Fi hoodie but am always skeptical about buying clothes I can't try on first. Anybody know if the Fi hoodies run on the small or large side? Not sure whether to order a M or L...

i remember there being talk a while ago, about some 22" BTLs and i think the BLs too. are those still coming soon or are they out of the picture now? i havent heard anything about them in a long while...

If I order the sx recone will it come with the 1.4 ohm coils? Also, if it does have the 1.4 ohm coils will it be a direct fit or will my motor need to be sent in to be modified? And does anybody know the t/s specs for the sx 18 recone because I can't seem to find it anywhere and I know it's not exactly the same as the sx 18? I can't get any response from fi when I email them so I was hoping I could get some help here so I can order my recone already... Thanks

Hey guys, Since I will be recieving my 15" SSD + flatwind pretty soon, I figured I would make an enclosure this weekend. It is 35x15.5x21, 3.5 Cuft tuned to 33hz. It was a 2 day, 5 total hour job, but not bad for a 16 year old making my first ported box. Meant to say single wall boxes but that just didn't happen i was too enthused at laughing about the basket making noise...even after all of that the sub still works.. Anyhow...keep your packaging. Don't send us this stuff back with a bunch of peanuts or anything in a single wall box and expect a 70 pound package to not be broken in 30 pieces.

Hey Scott/Nick, I ordered a sub awhile back and you guys were pretty gracious in helping me out. Now I have another question, does shipping to Canada usually take longer then expected? Ya'll emailed me that my BuzzLightyear shipped on Nov 16 with 6-10 days wait. It's been a lil longer then that. Ok so i have a 2002 chrysler 300m. i want to get one 15" BL but i dont kno what kinda electrical upgrades i will need. i dont have alotta money to be jus spending so if i dont need somethin i rather not get it. so what do i need to get and i want to get a MB Quart DSC 2000.1D. i need to kno how much each will cost so if u cud help me with all this, itd be great. i didnt realize when i orderd my sub that if you have a dual voice coil sub that you cant wire it to be 1ohm , it will be higher or lower. i did get the universal option so i guess i can send it back and get it redone. how much does this cost to do. and does anyone from fi know if i would be able to maybe just send it back and get a replacement for a fee or somthing. thanks guys. kevin

We got my box finished up at 3 A.M. this morning. I didn't build it myself, but paid an installer who has did work for me before. The box is right at 8ft^3 and tuned to 33hz with 120^2 inches of port area. All i currently have is a Kenwood amp that puts out 900 watts to push the subs. THe subs have the copper coil option and I was defintely expecting them to be louder and lower than my previous 15" L7 ran off the same amp. Well, they exceeded my expectations! I have sent several emails to change my order of the bl 10 from dual 2 ohm to dual 1 ohm, but I have not received any response if they could do it. I was wondering if I could just get a conformation on if they can do it or not. My order number is #1379.

I have 2 Memphis 1000 Watt amps and was wondering if they were enough to push 4 15" BTL's. THey say 2000rms so im not sure if 500 watts would be good enough for 1

Alright so I have my BTL in my ported box (tuning is messed up I have to redo it I think) and I am powering it with a 1200 watt hifonics with chit 4 guage. Waiting on installing my batts, big 3, and 2 ought. I was playing hz tests and I was like fudge it its moving some air, lets see if i can do a hair trick. So I had this girl put her hair in my window and I rolled it up a till there was about 3 inches left. I played a 40hz tone, I STILL dont know what my tuning is but this gets pretty loud, and it was moving her hair! So, i put a temp amp in with my BTL. I put a hifonics 1610 in and OMFG. No words can explain how happy i am with this sub woofer. I just cant imagine what it will is going to sound like with my t 30001bd on it, it is going to be just NASTY. I am going to hook up a t10001bd up to it tomorrow to hear what it sound likes with REAL clean power not Rockford poop. Just letting you guys know i am a verry satisfied customer.

I have a brand new Hifonics GLX1400.1D and all new 2 gauge wire ran. I should have my ssd 18 sometime in the next couple weeks. Does anyone know what i should tune my box too? its all going in a 01 eclipse(hatchback). I also would like to know what i should run my subsonic filter and everything as. Finally got my 2011 SSD and installed it today. It's making a loud "popping" noise when it plays. I thought it might be because it wasn't sealing against the box right, but after several hours and a bead of silicon around the mounting ring, the pop is still there in full force. I am currently running a 10" Alpine type R off an Alpine M450 Amp. The type R is in a large ported enclosure. It sounds terrible with the type of music i listen to (hard rock). It will play pretty low and get loud while listening to rap, but I hardly ever listen to rap. I only put this in my Jeep as a quick fix (paid 100 for amp, sub, and box) and now I finally have the money to do a whole new system. My local shop keeps trying to get me to do a JL 12W6 in a sealed enclosure running off a 500/1. He says "It will hit hard (tight) and be loud enough for me". I have a 2 channel amp and im tryin to see if I should get a dual 2ohm voice coil or dual 4ohm. How will i be able to wire the subs to get a 2 ohm load to the amp without having both subs connected to eachother
