Finally got my 2011 SSD and installed it today. It's making a loud "popping" noise when it plays. I thought it might be because it wasn't sealing against the box right, but after several hours and a bead of silicon around the mounting ring, the pop is still there in full force. In person it sounds more like a metallic slapping than what the video shows (The last two hits in the video sound more realistic at the very end) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Egh_QLqf4ug Ideas?

Right now someone figured out my box was 3.8 cubes at 31hz after disp. With that, a 15" BTL with no options and a Hifonics BXi2006D I hit a 141.7. That was my best score. I am trying to hit a 150 with this one sub. I am getting alot of different inputs on box sizes to use...and I know hitting a certain score has MANY varibles...but I figured to start off..a better box could help a good bit. It is in an extended cab truck, port up and sub up. I want pretty much SPL, but it is my DD. With a new box, I am still going to be listening to music. So I figured who better to come to for box advice then the people who make the sub.

I have sent you all a few emails etc. I know you all are very busy people. Im just wanting to know what the status is on the Replacement BTL/parts etc. that you all are sending.. im about to get a 18" btl on a hifonics brz2400 but i was thinking about getting 2 15" btls on a hifonics collusus 3200rms. Which would be louder?

Hi, is anyone running Fi products going to be at either Texas Heat Wave shows in San Antonio or Austin?

I was curious about the universal option offered for the BTLs.I understand that it is so you can change between dual 1 and 2 ohm coils, but what are the drawbacks?I noticed it says that if you don't get the universal option that the motor will be optimized for the ohm load configuration you order.So does that mean that a universal BTL won't ever perform quite as up to par as one that isn't universal?Just curious, because I figured if their were no drawbacks then all of the subs would have them.Thanks man for any feedback.I really appreciate it.

Hey guys, just wanted to give you an update on our shipping. We have changed from UPS to Fed Ex. Now when you place your order, you will not get a tracking number until your order actually ships. Previously with UPS you would get the tracker as soon as your order was processed, so customers thought that there order had already shipped, when that was not the case, as we still had to machine all the parts and get it put together. I was wondering about daily RMS powerhandling. I know every sub has imp rise,. But lets say I have a 15 " ssd with flatwound coils. Could I put a 1200 watt rms amp on it daily? or 1400?;

i ordered two fi btl n2 15's and i was meaning to order 18's..i ordered em sunday. any suggestions on getting this resolved?

I just turned 17 and im getting a 2010 maxima next week. I ordered a 12in fi bl fully loaded and a sundown sae 1200d. I also ordered a stinger 0 gauge amp kit. Scott@ficaraudio sent me an enclosure that is 2.3cf and tuned to 33hz. I am planning on doing the big 3 upgrade, all 0 gauge and building the enclosure myself. This is the first time im getting a system. Is it going to be VERY loud for my very fisrt time having a system. im going to build my box today for my Fi BL 15" and i looked onlinw of what to use and it says to use Panhead sheet metal screws? shouldnt i use wood screws or are those wood screws?? and it also says to use drywall screws? why use drywall screws? whats the diffrence? and where do they go?

I'm very happy with the quality of this subwoofer. Right now its in a sealed enclosure ~ 2.5 ft^3 after displacement. My old subwoofer was a 12" Infinity Perfect VQ in a sealed box as well. I was basically looking for more output, but still wanting it to sound just as good as my old sub. The Q fit perfectly, and it sounds just as good as the infinity i had before, only louder. I haven't tested it on alot of music, but their are some rock songs i have found that i actually prefer the sound of the Q over the infinity on lower volumes as well. Overall, I am very satisfied. Hi all, I'm new to this and been going by what my friend and his dad tell me but as their taste in music is different than mine I wanted to ask around. I drive a 03 s-10 xtrme ext cab and have 2 12's currently but they are horrid and was looking for something better. I list to alot of rock, metal but i also listen to quite a bit of hiphop/rap. I have a hifonics 2000watt amp and was wondering what size/series of speaker would work good for my taste in music and size of the truck that also work with the amp I already have.

I just received my Fi/SX 12 hybrid in the mail. It looks awesome and ill be sure to get some pics up and a video soon. How long do you suggest i play it low before i turn it up? I have the gain about 1/2 way up right now. Just wondering how long before I can cut loose on this bad boy.

I know I will be going with a 12" BTL ported in my trunk. I am just curious about how the BTL compares to the MX. I heard a MX today and it was pretty cool, still hear better things about the BTL regardless. Both are super sexy subs.....and the BTL kills it in price. So, all in all, how do the two compare....SPL, SQ, or even LSQ?

hey i have a couple last minute questions! i need to cut a hole for the sub to fit in! On the Fi web site i have a Bl 15" does the CUT ID: 14.125" mean thats the size of the hole across i cut?? and for the port i should screw those into the box on the top and bottom not just glue right?? Well this past week i finally finished up my install so i thought i would post a few pics now and ill upload the rest later on. This was my first attempt at a somewhat nicer audio system and damn did i learn a few things the hard way... lol. How much does it weight? Trying to design specifics of the box and I want to know if I should get screws or bolts. At what weight would bolts be a better choice?

we had a show today in tampa florida.... great turnout and great weather.... well i won bass boxing with a 154.3 so that was kool.. and in bass race.. it was me and frankie... he got me in the last 8 seconds bye .2 bd !!! i really wanted to win....!!! oh well.. frankie had 6-15 Q's ported in a wall in a lexus car.. i had 16-12's SSD in a van....sealed.. it was soo close.. 152.8 frankie-- 152.6 lil-john---- man that TL meter is a bitch !!!! but atleast FI took home the win !!!!!! and i got second... but i won the bass boxing.. so all in all it was a good weekend !! i beat the livin crap out of my subs ALL day and no problems... great product FI !!! i did demo my van all da…
