So, this morning at around 7AM, i get into my car, turn up the volume, and no bass. The sub wasnt playing at all. the lights on the amp were on, but i drive for like 15 minutes, still nothing. after 7 hours after school, i go to drive home, and still nothing, about half way home, BOOM the bass kicks in, just as loud as normal, no abnormalities. what could have caused this? ive had the setup installed for a week or so. 1 15" FI BTL Hifonics bxi-2608D Alpine IDA X100 headunit i have NOT checked ALL connections yet, but what else could it have been, it hasn't happened again yet. I will get a lot more concerned once it happens again, but right now, im not too worried.

truck - 05 chevy colorado amp - sundown 3500d elec - 2 kinetik 2000hc's. big three. box - 4.5 cubic feet tuned @ 32 hz. two 12 bls' or two 12 btl's? looking for spl. but i also want musical daily driving. i know bl's are more musical and btl's are more loud but i wanna know if one has a significant amount of sq or spl compared to the other. example (not saying its true) : bl's and q's are not much of a difference sq wise, but bl's get very noticably louder.

They took about a month to get here. Well worth the wait.

Need to change Coil imp from .5 to 2ohm. Is it possible? Cost? Time?

hi im going to be buying 2 of these beasts for my 79 gmc stepside. there going in the bed & ported of course because there is no way in hell there going to fit in the cab. im looking around for amps to power these subs and am wondering what rms @ what ohm to get. i need to know what ohms to purchase the 2 subs dual 1 or dual 2 and what kind of amp. i was thinking about audioque 2200d because fi says the 18's rms is 2000 watts. would two of these amps do the trick or should i look for something else? thanks

any suggestions on an amp that costs around 5 or $600 dollars to power 4 18"SSDs

Hi Everyone, I originally thought there was a problem with the subwoofer in my Expedition so I got an 8" RE re subwoofer on ebay to replace the oem. And this 8" RE8 is the single voice coil version, made back when Scott was in charge =). When I swapped the drivers, unfortunately I found out that it was the amp that was the problem. I opened the amp up and took some pictures of the guts. I didn't see any physical damage. Although I did find a piece of small plastic loose, but the weird thing is that it didn't look like it came from inside the amp. Are* there any plans for 6"x8/9" speakers to be added to the Fi lineup?

Using 2 sundown 1500d's. Strapped. 2ohm for daily, and .5 for comps. I'd also like to build another box and possibly compete. Wanting loud with decent sq. Will be going in a hatchback. I have 8ish cubes. I'll be using recommended enclosures.

i was bumpin on down the road and all of the sudden my sub cut out... perplexed, i went to the back to make sure all necessary wires connected ... as they were and drove home, pulled the sub out of my box and one of the tinsel leads was fried.........i have a 12" Q powered by a eD nINE running at 2 ohms and a comfortable 950 watts ....so i dont believe that this was an error on my part i have done all my big 3 running 4 gauge wire everything ....how and how much is it going to take to fix this asap......my sub should still be under warranty seeing how i bought it only about 7 months ago......please help i cant live without beats

i need help deciding what 12 inch subs i should get. its beetween the fi audio ssd or the soundstream t6. ive had soundstream b4 and i really like it but ive also heard good things about fi audio. i like hard hitting bass. i got a 03 mustang and got about 6 cubic ft of space for a box so if u guys could help me put in deciding it b great. i got 2 hifonic 2000 watt amps a 1800 kinetik battery. my budget for subs is about 500 dollars total/ or if u guys can know of any better sub give me ideas thanks

well i been lookin at the BL 15 for a while now and I decided to grow a pair and buy one! Placed my order, hurt to look at the receipt a bit but it'll be worth it! my 6" PSP port should be here shortly too ;P

As it states, this is just something I am curious to see. All would be in the optimum enclosures and tuned appropriately. I am curious how many pick sealed vs ported, size of the subs, etc. Again, this is all subjective and I am doing this out of curiousity to find out what the majority of you audiophiles would really go with. Lets say 1k watts per sub. optimum enclosure. trunk install. I am tryin to get ideas of what a general Fi user loves before I even start thinkin of my next setup.

I got my 18'' Bl today, man was I happy. cant wait to get the money for the 2nd one I wanted to think everyone at FI Audio! Andrew F

thanks to everyone that has helped me so far, i am finally building the box for the tahoe and i had to change plans just a touch. it was gonna be 48 wide, 21 tall and 36 deep with a port all the way across the bottom so port was 5 tall 46.5 wide and 22 deep i changed the box size to be 48 wide, 35 deep and 23 tall this is for two 18" fully loaded BL's with 1600rms each how big should i make the port to be tuned to 30-32 range

Metered a couple weeks ago in my jeep grand cherokee at 143.3 at 39htz in a 5 cube box tuned to 40 htz is this good

Hey guys Sorry if this topic is in the wrong section. I just have a quick question. I am ordering a fully loaded BTL 1 Ohm for daily use with some SPL shows. I was thinking of running this bad boy off a HiFonics BXi 2610 Class D mono Block. It says it runs 1 ohm: 2600 watts x 1 chan. I have a HiFonics amp right now and I like it.....but I think its overrated as far as its RMS is, so my question is will this amp in question be OK for the BTL is it too much power for it even if it a little less than 2600 RMS? Should I consider a totally different amp? Thanks a lot guys

Well, my brother purchased a kicker L7 12 about a year ago, and was powering it with a 1kw kenwood amp that really put out more like 3-400, and after selling him my bxi2006d he noticed that he kept hearing a slapping type sound. He pulled it out of the box and you could just smell the coil, and the sub was very hot to the touch. It wasn't the tinsels slapping or anything, it was something inside. He probably messed it up with that crappy old amp, so now he wants a new sub. With the hifonics amp I suggested a dual 2ohm BL with cooling, flatwind, and p chamfer options. hey guys, so im new to car audio but have been doing quite a bit of research.. i first planned on getting two 15" jls but then i found fi and would really love to get to 15" bls and two amps to power each. ive got a 93 ford explorer with completely stock stereo, all four speakers are blown so i need all new speakers and an amp to power them. i also need a head unit. so i basically need everything new. i plan on doing the big three upgrade and any other things necessary to have a clean install, i also plan on making my own box. if anyone has any suggestions or anything to say about my plans id love to hear about it! another thing is that i see people giving bls 1500 watts…
