Hi Everyone, I originally thought there was a problem with the subwoofer in my Expedition so I got an 8" RE re subwoofer on ebay to replace the oem. And this 8" RE8 is the single voice coil version, made back when Scott was in charge =). When I swapped the drivers, unfortunately I found out that it was the amp that was the problem. I opened the amp up and took some pictures of the guts. I didn't see any physical damage. Although I did find a piece of small plastic loose, but the weird thing is that it didn't look like it came from inside the amp. Here are the pics: Anyways, back on topic,... will there ever be an 8" driver. I understand they don't market or sell ver…

Right now I have a pair of Q 15's in an 8.0CuFt enclosure, after all displacement. Tuned to 30 Hz. I was thinking about doing 4 X 12's in about 8Cuft enclosure tuned to 32 Hz. Power wise, it would be easier on my electrical. But my question is, would the response be there? Would the X's play sloppy? I'm happy with the Q's but I want a little more output (SPL). And I'm sure like alot of you, I like to change things up. Right now my Q's are powered off a PA A3000db at 1 ohm. The x's would be at 2 ohm. Just to throw this out there..I have 2 PA A3000db's if that helps you with your suggestions. Suggestions please?

I recently purchased a re cone kit and a CA glue kit. I am wondering if this shipped by default or do you expect me to ship the sub in? I verified the money was transferred from paypal, but I never recieved any type of confirmation for my order besides the default email. Has this shipped? Is there any way for the customer to check on the process and see the status of order? The order total was 136.20, and I have the paypal transaction ID if needed. I do not see a order number on the comfirmation email. It was purchased March 17th. RE SE recone was the order (15"). I have not recieved a UPS tracking number or any other email since the initial purchase. Thanks for any help …

  7. I have two sealed subs 47L enclosures built around the Peerless 830500 driver. This driver is rated at 12.5mm xmax. Details here: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=297-608 Extensive details about my sub here: http://www.linkwitzlab.com/thor-intro.htm Bottom line is that I would like more output as I am bottoming my existing subs. I'm okay with building new boxes but ideally I would like to use the same crossover as it is tailed to work with my main speakers (Linkwitz Orion) Assuming that the 28mm xmax spec of the Q12 is one way rather than p-p, this driver should give me about 6-7db of headroom. I modeled my 830500 vs the Q12 in WinISD and the re…

Hey! I finally got my MTX TC8001 amp. 800 RMS @ 2 Ohms. Performance certificate says 916 W, if that helps... I want to get a SSD 15" sub (dual 1+1). I'm going with a ported box, tuned @ 33 Hz. Should I go with a stock SSD with this amp? Or do you recommend coppercoil or FlatwindCoil? Thanks

Hey I'm new to this forum but I was considering getting Btl's as my next sub but I got a few questions. I already emailed nick but I thought there might be some members on here that would have enough experience with BTL's that they might be able to help me out. I want to get 2 12" Btl's and was wondering if they could handle 2500 to 3300 watts rms on a daily basis? Im going to have a Kicker 2500 at 1 ohm to each of them. I'm going to be competing with them every once in awhile to but I'll be listening to them on a daily basis more so that comes first. I thought about getting the inner heat sink option and the cooling package. Would this help them handle the extra power on…

Can someone please explain the Internal Lead option to me and tell me if it's worth the extra $25? I looked in the tech section but the Internal Lead option doesn't seem to be explained in there for some reason. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, I've been doing a lot of research lately and I've come down to two setups that I'm really considering. I haven't listened to many subs personally, but I want my system to be a lout louder than one 15" Mofo. My buddy has a 15" Mofo and it just doesn't impress me. I listen to mostly rap and hip hop and a little bit of rock. Below are the two setups I've been considering. 1) Two Dual 1 Ohm 12" Fi SSD's powered by Cadence ZRS-7500D. Approx Total for the amp and subs: 800 2) Two Dual 1 Ohm 12" Fi BL's powered by a Hifonics 2608D. Approx total for the amp and subs: right around 800 Which setup do you think would be right for me? I'm going to be doing a high output…

Well my birthday came and I was pumped to be getting all my goodies. My girlfriend was sad as she had ordered something for me, only for it not to arrive in time. Well today package 1 of 2 arrived. A sweet 15" BTL loaded. I took some pics. All the pics taken either mine or otherwise really dont give these subs credit. MASSIVE!!

  20. im currently looking into buying a Fi Q 18 right? well, i dont have any car amps currently! (Had to sell my two 600 watt kenwood amps, yea i know it isnt much power, but it was plenty for my 6000s) So, since I def. dont have enough to buy a SAZ-1000 yet, how much would you say could get the Q moving? like 500 rms? 800rms? 1000rms? I dont wanna spend a whole lot, cause I want to buy a SAZ soon, but I dont want the Fi just sitting around, you know how it is when you get a new sub, you wanna hook it up as soon as the box is done! Cant just finish the box and put it in the garage and watch it gather dust. enough-power-for-minimum-before-I-buy-the-bigger-Sundown-amp budget Bu…

  21. I recently clamped my amp for my two BTL N2s, impedance started at .7 (no box rise ftw) and ended up at 4.5 ohms!! That's a huge jump. Dr. Boom also has bad impedance rise, he's only getting 5k out of his 6 SAZ-3500s. Maybe it's just coincidence but I was comparing the BTLs specs to other subwoofers specs and BTLs have a much lower Qes that any other I seen. They still get extremely loud on low power so maybe they are very efficient due to low Qes. Can anyone chime in? Oh, box for mine is 4.2 cubes, 33hz, single 6" aero. Dr Booms, dont know volume, but tuned to 33hz also.

Hey guys, new to the forums here. I want to place an order for a sub (18" BTL) but the dilema is that I live down under in australia.... I have already emailed FI and got details on the shipping, which they actually do ship out here WHICH IS GREAT!, thank you FI!, and the cost for shipping the beast of a sub is $281 >_> which is cool by me cos its worth it to get the sub lol, so I emailed them again asking whats the best way to do this, but havent recieved a reply,, are they really busy or something because of the holiday season?. and their email is always full and have to send it to orders@... instead of sales@... so yeh thats pretty much it, thanks guys.
