Now, before anyone tells me to read about the options on the Fi site, I'm just letting everyone know I did that. So know that I got that out there, I'm putting a 15 BL in a '93 Saturn SW2 in 4.35cuft@32Hz, and I was wondering what options would be best for me? I will be using this setup for daily driving and I listen to ALL types of music. Right now, I would be feeding this thing 600 watts, but will definitely upgrade to 1000+ in the future. I'm thinking that I will get the cooling upgrade for sure, but I wasn't sure about the flatwind coils. The reason I say this is because I'll be using 8 gauge speaker wire and was wondering if that will fit in the normal coils with…

I have a few questions about the Fi X series subs... I am going to buy 2 of the 12" and would like to know a few things before I purchase... The number one thing is... How much power is too much? I know Scott said not to expect super power handling but I mean is 400 RMS fine? How about 500 RMS? I know with most subs 200 rms over is no problem but that is 2/3 again the RMS rating on these so I was just wondering... Also, would you classify these as more spl or sq? I know it is probably not extremely high spl or sq but for the price you cant beat it... Im gonna be putting these in a 1cf per sub box with polyfil in it and pushed by either 300 or 400 RMS a piece... What kind …

Hey all. I'm upgrading my low-end from 2 12" Xplods and I've settled on 2 15" Fi Qs, with BP Power, pushed by an AQ2200D amp. I'm looking at putting them in a ported box, but I realize this box is going to be quite large (my trunk dims are 40" deep, 19" high, 48" wide). Fi recommends 2.8-4cuft so the box would need to be 6-8cuft right? I'm thinking about tuning it at 32Hz, from what I've heard from a lot of people with these subs. I listen to hip/hop and rap mostly, and I love songs that get low (like Gorilla Zoe or Young Jeezy songs for example). Is this a good tuning freq? I don't want to completely lose some of the "higher" bass notes but I want an extremely solid low…

are they specific break-in instruction for the SSD? What is the procedure. Will they come with the woofer ? In the reviews i noticed they sound better over time. Is this typical as things start to loosen up and get moving?

I've noticed a trend of people getting recones done and buying speakers and are having hard time grasping how our speakers are built. Below is a youtube video tutorial of two top things that have been happening as of late. "Why does my speaker not have holes in it? Should I drill new holes in the aluminum??? " No!!! Watch this! "I just got a new sub or a recone done from you and it does not work!!! " Do this: 9 volt battery pop test how to if you do not have a digital volt ohm meter.

  12. Hey Shawn or Nick, I've been trying to reach you guys for a while now it seems and have had no response. I sent my subwoofer in a while ago (more than a month ago) and I've sent out numerous emails and pm's to you guys about when and even if I'm getting my sub back and still no response. Shawn I talked to you a few weeks ago and you said you would check into it for me that same day and never got any news back. I thought this might be a better place to get your attention. Thanks, Cameron

This is somewhat of an extension of my other thread.... I decided to sell my Q15's to buy a pair of BTL's, but that would required alot more upgrades to my system (batts, alts, and bears oh my) This morning, while I was sippin on my coffee, I was thinking that I could ADD 2 more Q15's and an amp running around 4k-5k watts and keep it sealed. Yes, it would still put more stress on my electrical system, but I am more equiped to handle that ATM. I have dual batts and a 140 amp alt and lots and lots of 0awg. I also like the sound of the Q's sealed. They are so damn authoritive down low in a sealed sealed application. All my high scores are in the 35-38hz range, which I l…

Definately not talking bad but I know RE started out at very nice prices then jacked them to just retarded high pricing.... Now please don't take any disrespect scott. But are the FI's temp pricing or should they try to keep within relation to inflation of cost? AGAIN and AGAIN this is no disrespect to scott. just doing a wall in the next year and have to decide which subs . please don't take this as an insult. just to the point

Hey, I just recently purchased a 15Q from Fi, maybe like two months ago. It always worked flawlessly and sounded really great. The last few days the sub would cut in and out while a song was playing and it turns out a wire came undone on the inside of the box so i unscrewed the sub and put everything back together. Today I turned the music on and there was a wierd sort of popping sound on some of the notes when it played and it would only play some of the time. It sounds as if there is something inside the sub itself that is rattling. I checked all the wires about 50 damn times and made sure everthing was perfect. The sub would cut out and i'd flick the dustcap and it…

Anybody have any sealed number for a Q? Preferably a 15. FI's site says that the Q is made for good SQ and output in a sealed box; but everyone I see puts it in a ported box and gives numbers that way. Even The Great 12" Challenge by on ROE only tested the Q in a ported box. I don't get it. -C
