well yesterday was not a good day for me. while sitting at a local grocery store parking lot my sp4 caught on fire in my vehicle and i had to pull the heavy box and sub out of my truck while on fire and ended up going to the ER with 2nd degree burns on my hand. My question is why did this happen? i seen a few things about the new leads that the company uses are breaking off and sparking. i was running a hifonics brz 1700 to the sub so it was a good bit under powered. i emailed fi but that could take a few day to hear back, since this was not my fault and had nothing to do with the sub acting up will FI replace the sub or give me a recone at least? I ordered a 15 q dual 1 ohm with cooling on 2/13. I work at best buy and get a great deal on kicker amps. Today the kx1200 dropped in price and is now in my price range. Problem is it is 1 ohm stable and the amp i previously picked out was 2 ohm stable. So i ordered the dual 1 ohm. I need to change my order. I need a dual 2 ohm instead. Is this possible?

ok so my order status has changed to awaiting fullfillment. I may be a dumbass for asking this but does this mean my sub is in the process of being built?!? Just want some clarity on the subject.

At the end of this month I will be purchasing an Fi Q12 for the great north. It will be installed in a 2005 jimmy 2door with lots of room. Atm I plan on using a Sounqubed Q1-1200D. At 2 ohms it states 870x1 at 2ohms and 1470 at 1ohm. Im wondering do you think running it at 2ohms will give the Q12 enough power that it sounds good and not sluggish or do I have to go at 1ohm. Will running it at 1ohm take away some of the reponse/clearness of the Bass? Should I go with the Q1-2200D for 2ohm? Hey guys, i had some concerns about my future system. I'm planning to get an FI SP4 18, AQ3500.1D, and a high output alternator 200@idle and 375 max in the very near future. I can't wait to get it, but now I've ran into another problem. My powerbass oem replacement components and coaxials just aren't going to cut it. I'm planning on running 3000rms to the sub. About how much power would i need in some new tweeters and components, etc., to even out the sound? I don't want to hear JUST bass, i would like some nice highs and mids to come close to match it. Any power, speaker, amp, etc., suggestions would be appreciated.

Got my recone in today, and it was a dual 2, and needed a dual 1. The coils read 1.6, I've checked multiple times and confirmed with another dmm. Everything else in the package was correct as far as the basket and dust cap. I understand the mix up as I ordered a d2 originally online and contaced you about the change via email and this forum. I ordered an 18in Bl on 1/20/2013 using my dad's credit card and it sat there saying "awaiting payment" for a couple days now and I thought I put in some of the payment information wrong, so I reordered the sub using MY debit card. Well I placed my order on Dec. 4 and my order still has not shipped. I spoke with Shawn on Monday and was told it would ship out Tuesday or Wednesday it is Friday now and they are still not shipped. I have been very patient upto now. I was not quoted a time frame of this length at time of purchase. And I have been mislead on several occasions. I know they are busy but give me a date and stick to it. I wasn't expecting to wait two months for my subs that's not what I signed up for. Hey guys, First of all Happy new year to everyone @ Fi Car Audio. It was a great year with your products and hope it was a great year in sales for you. Down to business, I have aquired an RE XXX v3 motor from a craigslist sale. (paid 150 for it) Its spiders were off of the landing and luckily no one who had the sub knew that was the problem, Hopefully I can glue them down and the coil didn't rub too much. I see you guys have a recone option for RE 3x, guessing thats the xxx you just cant use the name for copyright purposes. Has any body owened or heard the sa 8'' subs if so what are they comparable to? By this i mean can they get as loud as a 12? I know they will be mutch more punchy but i was just wondering how well they preform. Thanks

ok so the custom box ive got is for 4 15's and has 2 ports each allegedly tuned to 32hz but they both sit up top with woofers firing at the roof, does having the port in different areas help or does it depend on the vehicle?
