Does Di make a recone for a MTX 8500 10" OR could it be done with a different basket? If so whats the price for a recone. (BTL and SSD if you use the series in those recones)

Hey all, I'm thinking of buying a Fi Q with the cooling option, and was going to power it with a Kicker ZX1500.1 or an MTX TE1501D. Both are rated at 1500 watts, but the kicker is at 2 ohm and the MTX is at 1 ohm. Would 2ohm be better, since I heard that running the same wattage, a 2 ohm amp is going to be more stable and run cooler/more reliably than those running at 1 ohm. First off...would the MTX be a better bet? I believe it has an adjustable subsonic filter for 20hz-50hz, where as the kicker is non adjustable at 25hz. I'm not entirely sure how it works, but I heard it was an important feature. Could anyone explain the reasoning behind this? Secondly, any opinions, …

  5. I just looked at my woofers, and noticed the "Chrome Red Fi" is coming off the cone. It isn't peeling from the edge (like at tip of the F or I as if something peeled it back) It is coming from the middle part of the logo as it bends over the dust cap. It almost seems like the foil-ish vinyl is flexible enough to follow the curve of the dust cap? I think standard vinyl would have been fine? Anyway, anyone else have any issues like this? Is it possible to get replacement logo stickers for the dust caps?

So I have been suggested to run about 125sqin. or port to make the lowend comeout. Well that would result if a very large box wich I dont think I can fit. I May be able to squeeze 12 cubes out of my truck, should that work?

Well here is a finished pic of my wall setup in my Civic. Worked out alot better than I expected. I love FI and rep them everywhere I go. They sound awesome. Have a couple of pics and a short video of Young Jeezy. Notice the windshield wiper jumping off the windshield. Keep in mind this is powered by a American Bass VFL 150.1...@ .7 ohms. Daily... Tell me what you think.

Well after a few months of owning my Bl 12 I've learned that I won't buy a mainstream sub for myself ever again! I also won't ever build a box that isn't as good or better than the one that I built for this beast either! Its only seen a 1200w rms hifonics amp the time that I've owned it and I feel it could handle 2000w with proper crossover tuning. I ended up building a box which after bracing was really close to 2.45ft^3 and tuned to 30hz give or take a hertz(not sure if the port is "exactly" 2.5x12" and "exactly" 31.25" long). It gets much lower than the system in my s10 that is for sure! Although I do love the way it sounds down low, I'm missing the volume i had in…

  16. My BTL is fully functional; however the cone is horribly dusty and dirty from the previous owner. Any ideas on how to clean it? Didn't wanna wipe it, as moisture seems like a dangerous thing to apply to a paper cone.

Here is a link to my box design. Have only ran a Lanzar 1200vibe on it so far as I am not convinced of tuning. Seems to get least cone motion at 33 hz when playing sine waves, so should be close. A bit inconclusive though. Actually the speaker is great, I am not impressed with the vehicle itself for bass. Does not sound as loud as my focus did with a lot less sub, but I know the focus probably loads bass a lot better. Box is 57w, 16.25 deep, and 20 high (6.5cf). The port is 14.75x7.5 and 28.75 long(area 110.6), firing up behind driver. The sub is facing forward on other side. This is supposed to be tuned to 35hz. link to box design I will be switching to my Lanza…

this is a fi comparison thread to mainstream subs i was thinking this would be a good idea for people who are coming from mainstream products (like me) to fi's line of products this will help alot of people make up there minds on which fi sub best suits them. im going to need lots of help on this (: FI SSD- ... The SSD Series of subwoofers is our all around daily sub. Double stack magnets with a heavily bumped T-yoke allow clearance for high excursion. Along with pair of heavy weaved progressive spiders, a multiplayer foam surround attached to a fiber impregnated kraft pulp cone helps keep things under control in high power applications. A 3

Just wanted to drop a line about the guys at Fi Audio. I ordered my Q12 on April 4. I just recieved an email that FedEx picked my package up today and should be delivered to me at the latest by Friday. Not a bad turn around time, took exactly 16 business days for it to go through the build process. I got an email last Thursday that they finished all the steel and were waiting for the motor to dry. I wasn't expecting the assembly to go that quickly. I had excellent customer service since day 1 and I would tell anyone contemplating like I was doing to just buy it already, you won't regret it. I had time to get the rest of my build together and am basically plug and play whe…

  22. Got my Fi Q 12s from fed-ex today & would like to thank you guys for the Carbon fiber dust cap on my subs that was super cool of you guys to do for me. The wait time is something I hear a lot of people talk about but on my order I found it to be accurate (15 days) & not bad at all. The website is a little slow to show order status but that is no big deal at all because Nick answered any questions that I had when I emailed him. This is my 1st experience with fi & so far I couldn't ask for a better experience Thank you guys so much & you have a happy customer in me now for the next task enclosure building the enclosure in the Kentucky heat & humidity.
