Since the X series has been discontinued, are you guys going to make another line of subs which take less power than the ssd's? i really want to pick up some X's but cant right at this moment.

i just want to know if my setup is ready for the BTL'z . i ordered them a couple of months back but i have been lagging to put them in because i do not want to be breaking tinsel leads so if there is something else i should get to help let me know please.

We're planning out and gathering funds for our new build in a 98 durango. We're walling off at the b pillar and basically have more room than we know what to do with. We could really build a box as big as 50cubes if we'll be sitting on 4x18" BTLs tuned to 30hz for daily and pulling an RTA out to meter the wall to find the best high output frequency to tune to(yet to be determined obviously). Amps will be rather 4x rockford power 4000's or 4xMemphis 4000's depending on how money sits. Rockfords are obviously the preferred choice but at a bit of a cost. Since we have the room, should we just stay at a max of 32 cubes or run a larger box? I mean with a 3rd magnet and all t…

does any one have any suggestions before i make any purchases.... I will end up with two 12 bls loaded and would like some suggestions on what kind of amp to power these.....also any electrical upgrades I may nneed to make on the car, i.e. beefier alt., additional batteries, etc, etc, . any help woul really be apprec. Alright so im going to have a pretty big box in the back seat of my quad cab, 35w 31h 17d before displacement of the sub and wood. The cab in a 99 dodge really isnt big, so its a big box and big sub in a small space. What do you think the tuning should be? i want it to get loud and low, and i was thinking 30hz. (actually like 29.7 or something) opinions? Also the sub and port will be on the 31x35 side of the box on opposite ends. Or should i center the sub?

Hi, i currently own the Q15s w/BP. The SQ is exellent but i would like more output. I have heard BLs dont get a lot louder than the Qs and the BTLs are way louder than both. My question is... Would the BTLs get louder than the BLs on 1500 watts. I dont see anyone running a BTL on 1500 watts. Also, the amps im running are MTX TA8001 1500 watts at 1 ohm (birthsheet says around 1900 watts at 14.4 volts so im might be getting around 1700-1800. Thanks Keith

hey guys im running to sundown saz1500ds strapped at 2 ohms, and 2 btl 18s dual 2s in my s10. i recently reconed. when i slam on them for a few minutes, one woofer gets hot real quick, the other gets warm. they both slap just as hard, but i cant figure out why the one woofer is getting hotter. i checked the tinsels where i soldered it looks good, same as the other one. all the connections are good as well, im using all 8awg wire. i set the gains using a multimeter and there gettin the right voltage the calculator gave me (3000w at 2 ohms - 77.5v) . i also swiched the woofers so the one getting hot was on the other side, and its still only that woofer getting obnormally wa…

How could i get some Fi stickers like some 4" ones or so

Heys guys im new to the forum and need some input. I'm ready to purchase a Fi sub and i really wanna try the BL 18". I currently have a Kicker ZX1000 rated at 1267 rms. I was thinking i would be underpowering the sub or maybe it'll sound good. You guys gotta any suggestions or opinions please reply. Oh and its goin in a caprice trunk if that matters. Thanks.

Just wanted to say thanks to scoot and fi for helping me get some materials i needed to get my sub up and running for a usaci competition today. Got 3rd place with a 146.9 but more importantly had a blast.

After watching some youtube videos of some fi's I heard a lot about stock electronics and what not. I am getting a 15" Bl and will power it with a Hifonics 1200 or 1600, and am wondering what "electronics" i will need so that I don't wreck my system/car.

I currently have a pair of Q's each running off 1500 watts. I wanted to do a sound quality setup but now im wishing I would have gone with the BLs because all i really wanted to do is get loud. is there any way i can exchange my pair of Qs for a pair of BLs. Thanks Keith

Hey, wuts up. I've got a 12" Bl in a box that is 2.4 before displacement. Right now it is tuned to 30 hz, and I absolutely love it. However, would something like a 35hz or 38hz tune have a higher output for competition? I'm running about 800 watts to the sub right now.

I have 4 Q15's ported in 10ft^3 tuned to 32hz on a IA40.1 @ .5 ohms. I am hitting 152db on a TL and 159.6db on AC mics, but I have it tuned for music and I feel the Q's are much more powerful down low. I compete locally for fun in unsanctioned events and have a nice lil collection of trophies. So this past Sunday, a local but large Car Club asked me to join up, because they want an SPL division for SBN and whatnot, and they have and audio shop on board to help with builds. So i have an fi q 12 sealed at 1.2 cubes and it sounds like chit to me. It isnt musical at all and it makes a ton of mechanical noise. most of the time thats all i hear. I am running it off a hifonics 1606 amp with the gain turned half way up and the bass boost all the way down. I have a alpine 9883 HU with the sub at + 15 and bass -2. The sub is inverted and it is down firing in a hatchback. Any opinions as to why i it sounds so chitty to my ears. I mean my old system was 2 10w6v1s and it seemed like they were twice as loud off only 650 watts.

hey im not sure if i should get the 15" Q dual 1 ohm or a 15" BTL i know the BTL cost about 400 dollars. but im not sure if i should wait and get that instead?

Does Di make a recone for a MTX 8500 10" OR could it be done with a different basket? If so whats the price for a recone. (BTL and SSD if you use the series in those recones)

hey guys ...have a quick question ...i just bought 2-12" FI Q DVC 1 ohm used...just got them in the mail today so i pulled out my meter to check the ohms on each coil ..1 sub i get .8 to .9 on one coil and 1.0 to 1.2 on the other coil.... sub 2... 1.0 to 1.2 on one coil and 1.1 to 1.4 on the other coil is this ok ? i know on the FI site 1 ohm dvc should be .7 ohms and 2 ohms dvc should be 1.4 ohms and yes i am using a good meter ( fluke 116) just dont know if the ohms go up a little once they are broken in which is my case since they are used .....just want to make sure i am hooking them up to a sundown saz1500d at 1 ohm and dont want to blow anything …

Hi Fi...I have (2)Audiomobile Mass series motor structures. no frames or top parts, just the magnet strutures. They are(were) 3inch underhung dvcs. Can they be rebuilt at all? They don't have to be dvcs. I would actually prefer single 4 or single 3. They need whole new top assemblies and softparts. Can this be done...ballpark cost for 15's. Thanks for any info.

im new to this site and reading posts fi can recone a majority of drivers. so my question is can fi recone a elevation audio x15 drivers. not their current execution woofers but the original ones with the aluminum cones. the motor uses a 3" vc and i want to reuse the execution motor with a fi basket and recone kit. i have 2 which are taking up space in my room 1 still plays but is on the way out and the other one is frozen. so get back asap thanks alot
