OK, these weren't your average recone, they had to machine adapter plates to get the 12 spoke baskets even compatible with my motors because the bolt patterns aren't the same... they had to tap them so the 12 spoke basket could be screwed into the spacer/adapter and drill through holes so I could bolt the adapter to the top plate of my motors.... Whats with people always bashin on sealed boxes, when subs like SSDs and RE SEs do so well in them for daily pounders? Its seems people are so narrow minded and think the ONLY thing that is important about the box that if its ported or not. These people need to hear some loud sealed groundpounders!

I love to hear stories about driving daily with your Fi subs and something peculiar happening.... So i thought I'd be fun to create a thread where we can share a funny story about our daily driving experience.... I am a big fan of steve meade (how can you not idolize a guy that can pour that kind of money into his systems) So i put in my two new amps and battery (1K each sub and now no voltage dropping).. My cousin who has been with me since day one of car audio was there for the initial install of the Fi subs (with 500 wats each no battery and voltage loss down to 11.8 +/-).... Although not done yet, it is installed and I've had a coupld PM's from people asking to see pics of install, so here it is. not really a build log, sorry shoulda taken more pics of me and my friend beating on the trunk floor with a tire arm to get the box to fit. also have a crappy quality vid up on youtube, it was done with cell phone but at least shows some of the flexing power LOL click on the guy who made the comment, then click on his vid on his facebook or myspace or w/e very funny

So i've more less disappeared from here due to not having any sort of internet access...our internet went out on Friday, and has been down ever since. nice little sub here. these were ordered for a friend of mine to replace some old old old kenwoods in a pre-fab bandpass box. i don't know how well they would do in them but i'm sure it would be pretty good. here are a few pics. i won't be able to give a review till monday or tuesday as i'm going up to sarasota tonight, then orlando tomorrow, then miami on sat, then back home. so yeah. thanks Fi.

Hey I was wondering if I'll receive a tracking number when my recone ships? I know you do for sub orders but do you e-mail one for recones as well?

had some broken tinsel leads on a btl. no warranty on these subs, im the 3rd owner, sub was even reconed by someone else before i bought it, and damage had all evidence that looked like user error on my part (which wasnt but i can guarantee you kicker, RF, eclipse etc would use this to save on warranty costs etc) and yet Scott STILL sent me 4 brand new tinsels for the BTL. no cost to me, no shipping cost....nothing. I see that the cutout for an 18" BTL is 16.75" when mounted normally. Is the cutout the same size when the driver is inverted, or does it have to be a bit bigger?

I wasn't quite sure where to post this so I will just do it here. I have been working on a huge research paper for school regarding some topics in math. I am sure some of you remember me asking questions earlier. At first I was going to leave everything silent, but have decided against that just in case several professors wonder what sub I used. So, would it be okay if I printed your companies name and the findings in my paper. All the paper covers is designing ported enclosures, how to design them, the math involved, etc. It goes into no detail at all about the actual build of your sub or any other technical issues. I have a ported box now but i thought for fun i would change the port length to get me a tuning of 28hz. Becuse of the lower tuning will that do anything to the efficenty of the design? Would be audibly different while playing? I thought it would drop lower when i put it in from the begining. thanks

Ok, im looking into get a pretty nice system, but i cant decide on which sub to get.. 1. new orion hcca 15" OR 2. 1 fi btl 18 was going to run them on a hifonics BXi 2607D at 1 ohm.. what you guys think, im kind pressed for money.

Ok, I have owned quite a few subs in my quest to find the right one for me. I searched long and hard for a '05 XXX 12 and I finally got one powered by a tantrum 1200.1 in a 1.1 'ish cubic foot enclosure. I think it's suffocating though. It sounds good, I just think this sub was more suited for a larger sealed or ported only enclosure. For my vehicle I can only fit a small sealed enclosure, so I was thinking of going back to a Q12. I have a SSD12 with copper coils/BP but it's in my home theatre setup right now. Should I keep the XXX, because it is an awesome sub or go with a equally awesome sub the Q12 because it's better suited for my application? The vehicle is a 2002 …
