Hey guys, I know you guys are super busy but I got a few ??'s for you. I'm going to be buying either a 15" or 18" BTL in the next 2-3 days, but I came across a used 18" BTL with a cracked basket. The part that is cracked is the part that the surround is glued to. They are very small. It was juts reconed and the tinsels arent even soldered on yet. My question is, if i were to replace the basket, would i have to cut the spider therefore needing another recone, or can I remove the cone without damage? If I cant do it with out damaging it, Can you tell me how much a new 18" basket and recone is? and also how much a 15" basket and recone would be? Thanks for your time and hel…

hey whats up fellow bassheads, i had bought my had a 12" re seX for christmas and he has loved it in a sealed box. Ok so he needed to use my car the other day for a trip so he let me use his truck for work. So i was checking out his settings on his amp to see if they are where they should be and the bass boost was on a little bit so i turned it off. ok so i went back to check out how the sub was doing and i gently pushed down on the cone to see how stiff it still was. when i pushed down easily i felt like a scrubbing or kind of a gringing against something?? I have no idea what this could be or could it be blown? i thought it was not normal but then again it doesnt sound …

ok I hate to sound like a noob but I've never delt with restricted space and a sealed box before so the box I've had built for my 03 silverado ex cab is for 2 10's firing forward under rear seat it has a total of 2.4 cu. ft. so after displacement wich is 0.12, cu. inches per that should give me about 1.08 cu.ft of airspace per sub right. The box was originaly going to have 2 RE se 10's but have since decided to try the ssd's since they have similar specs and recomended airspace, and I dont want to F*** up so thanks in advance for any help

This is my first system. I'm not sure how many speakers to get to compliment my subwoofers. I was thinking four 6 1/2" component speakers for the doors (amplified of course). Is this enough or will the subwoofers over power the mids/highs? The speakers are Rockford Fosgate Power T1652-S.

Hello, I'm in the military stationed in Germany. I'm ready to order but I have a question. Will you ship to APO, AE 09012 addresses? I know time is money and I thank you for your response. Respectfully, M-M P.S I normally use the USPS to ship items, can we work something out?

I have not really got a direct answer yet, so figured I would post here. Would 2x12" Q's in a sealed enclosure move more air than a 12BTL ported? I prefer low bass ~30Hz. So far, I like how deep my 12BTL gets, I don't want to lose any of that. I haven't heard many systems, so I need to ask alot of questions sometimes..lol

Well, I planned on doing a 3cuft box ported to 33hz in my lincoln ls. As usual I have read a lot about the sub before purchasing it, and in several different locations it has said that i should use the flatwind coil option, however in different locations i have also read just the opposite, it said that i should use the "stock" copper coil for a ported enclosure... i figured i would be able to get the best advice here and the most accurate information. Also what about the cooling option? I have nothing against buying a decent amp, i would get a BL or something but the SSD is a great daily and i drive an hour to work and a hour home so i need a daily lol... If i need to f…

Well, around december i received my 12" Fi Q from my uncle who knew me too well i guess. It was given as a gift. So im going to break down this topic into the reveiw first, then into my ?'s Packaging, First Impressions: Upon opening the box, the sub was wrapped well and contained in a nice packaged box. only one of the blue things were somewhat worn, so it was slopped down a little, but as i said it was a gift, and probably not handled the best. But still was in perfect shape When i opened the sub up to take it out and expect at the house, the first thing i noticed was how nice the magnet frame was painted. No scuffs. Later, after more inspection i noticed how stiff the s…

I was wondering how a Fi Q12" sub would perform in a 4.2ft^3 enclosure tuned at 21hz? I would be giving 2 of them each in their own 4.2ft^3 enclosures 1000 watts each from a crown XLS2500 amplifier. Would this perform well or are their better sub options? They would have a subsonic filter at 21hz and then a LP at 80hz. My surround speakers can easily keep up with almost any sub combination out there considering I spent about $4,000 on DIY towers and DIY center channel alone... I hope this being a car audio forum it doesnt bother you guys me asking about home audio... I know a lot of guys using car subs for home theatre.
