General Fi

If I'm not getting enough (12v) through my remote wire, how do I fix it? HU ground? I'm only getting 11.8-11.9

i have tried to get ahould of somebody before i have had no luck.....i loved re then i got to fi and its discouraging to not be able to contact anybody.......all i have is a snapped tinsel lead and i was wondering about how i would go about sending it back to get fixed.....my local shop says either they cant fix it or if they can itll cost 175 and i know that some bs......i have to get this fixed asap cuz i have to do work at a bass comp in like 5 weeks.....i want everybody to find out what fi is about..... thank you Eric

Ok so he needed to use my car the other day for a trip so he let me use his truck for work. So i was checking out his settings on his amp to see if they are where they should be and the bass boost was on a little bit so i turned it off. ok so i went back to check out how the sub was doing and i gently pushed down on the cone to see how stiff it still was. when i pushed down easily i felt like a scrubbing or kind of a gringing against something?? Well today I decided to finally pull the trigger on a 15" bl. Lately Ive hear that the SQ on this woofer has been better then people expected while still wangin I built a box last weekend and its been sitting in my car, and I just couldnt stand the though of an empty subwoofer box just sitting there. i purchased an SSD15 for my niece's car back in October i believe. built a nice ported enclosure around 3.5 cu/ft. i also installed a Kolossus Fleks 0 Gauge amp kit to an ASA800.2 powerbass amp. power at the amp was at 13.6 to 13.8 at full tilt. i also set the gain with a volt meter and tinkered with it by ear. i am no expert by any means, but i did a lot of reading on the subject of install to avoid any kind of clipping. anyways, i told her not to mess with the setting on the head unit. well, played around with her system several months later to find all the settings were jacked up, loud button on, bass boosted in the eq. changed anything back to where i had the…

Hey guys! So I just bought a brand new 2010 cobalt Lt 2 door and I am lookin to throw a 12" BTL in it! One problem is the trunk is Small!!!! My old sub box wont even fit and its not as beefy as an Fi it was an Orion hcca 10" But I really want this sub so I was thinking of getting the Fi built into the trunk Like Fiber glass or something. You guys are really helpful so I was wondering does this seem like a good idea to you? any other adivce perhaps? I would give you the trunk specs but its drark right now I can get them tomorrow. Has anybody tried na Fi in a custome trunk? thanks for any help!

I ordered a BL on the weekend, and got an answer on Sunday. I live in Canada so I can't order off the website. I ordered my sub(10" BL) and forgot to state the impedance. So in the email back he tells me what it'll cost, and asks me what impedance I want. This is Scott BTW. I tell him D1, because I was in a rush and completely blanked. Ever done that? I'm at work thinking "you cant wire d1 to 1 ohm..." kind of freaking out. I have not really got a direct answer yet, so figured I would post here. Would 2x12" Q's in a sealed enclosure move more air than a 12BTL ported? I prefer low bass ~30Hz. So far, I like how deep my 12BTL gets, I don't want to lose any of that. I haven't heard many systems, so I need to ask alot of questions sometimes..lol

I was wondering how a Fi Q12" sub would perform in a 4.2ft^3 enclosure tuned at 21hz? I would be giving 2 of them each in their own 4.2ft^3 enclosures 1000 watts each from a crown XLS2500 amplifier. Would this perform well or are their better sub options? They would have a subsonic filter at 21hz and then a LP at 80hz. My surround speakers can easily keep up with almost any sub combination out there considering I spent about $4,000 on DIY towers and DIY center channel alone... I hope this being a car audio forum it doesnt bother you guys me asking about home audio... I know a lot of guys using car subs for home theatre.

I received my Q12 last week and finally had sometime this weekend to install it. It's in a 1995 Ford Thunderbird in a ported enclosure tuned to 32hz. It's running off a cadence TXA1000D. Door speakers are Infinity Kappa 682.7 (6x8 2ways...i know, i know...haha) and those are running off of a RF P400.4...Got everything hooked up sunday afternoon and all I have to say is "wow." I've owned a couple of other systems before, but this Q takes them all...hands down. It gets LOUD and still, it doesnt lose ANY quality! My roommate has to cover his ears when i crank it...(hes a girl though...haha) I've shown a couple of kids on campus who have "5000 watt" systems in their car…

i am running (2) 15"D2 Btl's in 6 cub. ft. @ 32hz right now. the amp i am using is a zx2500.1. what is a safe or optimal freq. to turn the amp to? is this something that is done by listening or is there a general rule of thumb. i am just noticing that the higher notes in almost all the songs i listen to, are almost not even audible. the lower notes are def there but what would correct this "problem?"

Well im getting the 2ohm Fi 18 BL and i found an amp that has 2ohm 1000wattrms with 2000W MAX,,,,,,other amps with a max of 1000W have a 2ohm 500w RMS,,,,,,,what do i need for my subwoofer 1000W RMS i guess??? Can someone tell me whats the difference betwee 4ohm,2 ohm,and 1 ohm,and what do they do???

I Have a fully loaded BTL 15" Running on an SAZ-3000D my question is will getting another one make that much more of a difference? since they will both be running off the same amp. Eventually i plan on getting another SAZ-3000D when money will allow but since i only have 1 3000D will sending 1200-1500 watts to each be louder than if i sent 2500-3000 watts to 1 ?

Pulled a 145.4dB at 47hz in the kick...Now too bad in my opinion considering the box is 8ft^3 net tuned to 33hz...The subs are getting about 800 watts each.. They definitely had a lot more low end than every other daily driving system that I heard at the comp.. Many people were interested in my subs, and I gave out Fi's website several times! Imagine I could get a 147 or so if I got another box that was more SPL oriented..That may be in my future plans.
