General Fi

Ive got a single sp4 15 in a 5.7 cube box. It just doesnt seem to be as loud as it should. I dont really have a lot of space in the trunk. Right now its ported thru the seat and spose to be tuned to 35hz using round ports. Do i have the ports facing wrong direction cause ive tried a few different things and nothing helped. The usable room in the trunk is 34w 14h and 36d. And help would be great. Im new to this. But i can build a new box if need be

hi its me again, i currently have a bl15 great sub, Ive seen people seem to like more the 18 inch subs better than 15" are 18 that much better, i see they need a big box but would the output be that much better if yes what percentage increase do you guys think i can get with a 18". Now my other question how can i make a box for one that is going to be in my caddy devilles trunk i cant go higher than 19 inches tall for the box and i dont think i would make it becuase the sub is 18" plus box material .75, so can i make a box facing up and port facing to the back of the trunk?? would that sound good in a car?? thanks again and comments are apreciated.

So, I get the general jist of an IB setup. Deaden the entire trunk, make a baffle to hold the sub(s) that completely seals the trunk from the rest of the car. Here is my question though, what do i do with the rear deck. I hear of people doing a lot of things regarding it, but I really have no clue what to do, if anything. Help would be great as this is my very first IB setup. I am sure more questions will come about front stage, but later. Or do you think 2 15" Q's sealed would sound better. I have only ever had ported and am ready for a postive change while making room in my trunk, tired of having no room. Thank YOu

i find out i get canned from on of my jobs today and was kinda depressed and then all of a sudden the doorbell rings. Sure enough it was my brand new 15 " BL's. this made my day possible my week. i totaly forgot i got fired lmao. next week i start my install monday morning first thing. pics wil be up soon after the install

Seem's like alot of people are talking about 8's lately you guys should make a SSD 8 and a Q 8, or is the motor to big for a 8?

Hi, im jay, i was wondering about the SSD15, I noticed it is 800W RMS if i wired it @ dual 2 ohm to make it 4, AND put it on a [XLS crown802] which would give it 800W@4ohm perchannel, and 2100@4 bridged, Do you think it could power it? and if so how about 2 of em from the bridged? thank you and please respond respnd back if possible! Also what would i need to tune it to to listen to NUTTIN but low, around 28-32herts? thx! -jay

Thanks a million Scott for helping me get my SX recone kit. it took me a while but i finally got the order in and finally received the recone kit for this sub that's been sitting around for over a year. the packaging was EXCELLENT. nothing on the box shifted around or got banged up. well in the order i completely forgot to mention that i need CA Glue. though buying a recone kit i would have assumed that you send out CA glue with the kit, but anyways, How about can i get some CA Glue to set this sub up? if i have to buy it since the order was completed please let me know.

Hey I was wondering if I'll receive a tracking number when my recone ships? I know you do for sub orders but do you e-mail one for recones as well?

I had a pair of Q 12's sealed and wasnt a fan. Loved one ported but had trouble selling single. I got good deal on a BL 10. Whats optimum tune for daily. I read 32hz. If I tune it to 30 would it be noticeable difference.

Are these parameters taken on the subs when they are freshly new or taken when the suspension has loosened up? And I am referring to Fi subs.

well my recones from Fi came and they were supposed to be dual 2s....so i could run my ab 500.1 at .5ohm....but the coils read 1.5....which means i have to run my amp at .35.....not very good..... just curious as to why they arent actual dual 2s

I still haven't received my subs!! A tracking email was sent to me on Monday, March 5th and the delivery date was supposed to be Friday, March 9th and it is now the 13th.. Anybody else have a similar problem?

i need help on desiding between a 15 inch fi bl or the si mag d2 its going in te trunk of a mustang 01 in a custom ported box and a HIFONICS BXi1206D amp so i never heard nether of theese subs so i need som opinons on which you think you be better for the amp and car and of corse witch sounds the best

hey nick, i was unclear on what had happened to that sx15 recone with the power options. i got a message from you that said it had shipped last tuesday, however my tracking information never changed from "billing information received" that was on the 14th. i haven't heard from you by email yet so i figured i might try here.... -sean

So i got my FI Q back from a recone like 2 weeks ago. and since it's been hooked up i hear like a rattling type of sound when the bass hits during the majority of songs (some sound fine usually the loud bass songs) i went next to the sub to hear where it was coming from and it sounds like it's coming from the sub itself any idea as why this would be happening? Also if i put my back seats up (my box sits flush with the back seats so the sub faces the cabin while i drive so with the seats up the sub is touching the back seats limiting it's excursion) the sound dissapears and it sounds like clean bass on any song but since it is limiting it's excursion it is noticeably quiet…

Hey guys, ok so I bought a 12 ssd with the copper coil option and Im going to be running it off the Kicker zx1000.1 amp im putting it in a 2008 nissan frontier extended cab and i was wondering what you guys think would be the best box dimensions for both ported and sealed enclosures I am building the box my self and i just wanted the deepest lowest bass with the SQ Thanks

Right now i have my 18 bl in a ~6 ft^3 box (before port and sub disp.), tuned to 34 hz with a 3.75 x 20.5 in port (was supposed to be 4 inches, but i had a lil cutting error ). Anyways, i'd like to try a few different boxes, some higher, some lower, some smaller, some bigger. Fi has 30 hz as the lowest recomendation, and i'd like to see what the people who tuned to around this (or people who have heard a bl tuned to this) thought about it. They also have 37 hz as they're highest, so have any of you tuned to that, if so, how'd you like it? I realize a person who tunes to 30 hz is going a different path than someone tuning 37 hz, but i'd just like to see how each individu…

I posted this question already in the technical category and only got an answer from JimJ ( thank you ) , and would appreciate more feedback so that i may place my order Asap , so i'm starting over in the general section hoping for more opinions , thank you . I'm going to order four 10 " Q's to be mounted sealed each connected to it's own Alpine PDX 1.1000 , ( all 4 were benched at 1200 RMS ) , my question is BP power or no BP power , i have seen posts where they were said to perform wonderfully under 1000 watts , and many more that stated they could take more , so i'm confused as to if i should BP them or nt please answer , thank you Dan
